Service excellent, food terrific.
Great meal. We love multiple small plate dining and the food was delightful.
Spread & Pita shareable was very good, as were spanokorise (sp?), beets, and smashed taters. Not impressed with kebabs - shrimp was way over-seasoned, for example. Portions we're pretty small all around. It was $358 for Greek dinner for four. WAY overpriced, IMHO.
The service, however, was incredible! Friendly, patient, explored menu, gave options, but the sticker shock is real.
Very expensive but worth it. This is my favorite place to get breakfast food. They have the fluffiest omelettes and best potatoes I have ever had. The servers are always super friendly. Might be more affordable if you're not too hungry and tend to split things, but their food is so good you'll want your own order, so that's why my friend and I go 1-2x/year for special occasions only.
Lola is one of my staples for brunch. Most places I'm relatively adventurous with the menu but at Lola I can't seem to get away from Tom's Favorite. I shamelessly order it most times I dine at Lola. Since they use seasonal fruits/veggies then it's constantly changing so it often feels like you're trying a new dish. Also a must-have is the beignets. You can also order these from Dahlia bakery across the street but if you don't plan on that, then definitely have them here. Great for before or after your meal!
Amazing food and service for a pretty penny!! Get the feta brined chicken and snap peas.
Great food, ambiance and service!
Such a great experience! Food was absolutely amazing, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a high quality restaurant in downtown Seattle.
My Dad just came home from a trip to Greece and we took him to Lola’s as a Father’s Day gift. He said he loved that the flavors were so bold, just like in Greece. The food is so good and we shared a lot of plates so everyone could try a bit of everything. All delicious!
Things have changed over the years. We've gone there many times for special occasions. This time the Noise was so loud we could barely hear our server who wasn't around that much anyway. (I had to get the attention of other servers for help!) Lamb dish was bland. Spanokopedia was good and desserts were terrific, inc. courtesy one for our special occasion.
Love Lola, the Mediterranean decor and always delicious food. Our server was great. However, I was somewhat shocked by the behavior of the blonde hostess who quite rudely tried to rush us out at the end of our lunch. Although the two of us were still trying to enjoy our half-filled glasses of wine, she actually came and wiped down our table! There was no one waiting to be seated. Especially now that a shared 20% tip is mandatory, wait staff should be more impeccable in their service, including the hostess.
Welcoming staff and delicious lunch! Would definitely recommend.
Nothing special. Seemed rushed. Lots of other places for an $83 breakfast.
I love this place. Best bacon I’ve ever had. The salmon kebabs are otherworldly.
Great service and the people who work here love it.
Always a favorite stop of ours when we are in town!
The food, atmosphere and service was fabulous! One of my favorite breakfast spots in Seattle. Ask for Lori. She’s pretty awesome. =)
4th of July
Went here for a 4th of July dinner catching up with a friend. Food and service was excellent! Ambience was a bit noisier than normal I think but it was a busy holiday and our table was right by the door. Would highly recommend regardless!
Efficient, professional service. Great breakfast. Will definitely breakfast here again.
We had brunch with our kids (ages 8 and 11). The service was phenomenal, even more outstanding than the delicious food. They were so thoughtful and attentive, really going the extra mile to make our experience wonderful.
The food and service were excellent. The noise level got a little loud but was bearable. Of concern was the added 20% service fee that did not go to the employees, but was pocketed by management. This is akin to the ridiculous "additional dealer markup" on vehicles. The food was already more than adequately priced without this additional markup. And, because they don't expect the staff to be tipped, it leaves no way to reward excellent service without adding to the 20% already charged for management(?) service.
You really have to appreciate the concept of Lola to book this. We didn't, so we won't re-book.
This is an all ala-carte concept, with downtown Seattle prices. Want some pita? $5 more. But you get a choice of dipping sauces. Want vegetables or rice with your plates? Significantly extra. Also the kebabs are minuscule and offered only with some blackened onions. Disappointing as a value proposition at $16 or so per order.
It's also a noisy ambiance. Not a place for an intimate dinner. To us, Lola is trying to decide if it's a trendy cocktail lounge or a restaurant. And we came early on a midweek evening.
We also thought that the cooking needed improvement. The house uses quality raw ingredients, such as tender chicken and lamb; but then pairs them with too strong dressings or sauces. Of the three dishes we ordered, only the chicken kebab was well paired with its sauce.
The one bright spot to this place was the great service. But you pay a forced 20% "tip" for that. However, without the value proposition on food, is great service enough? You'll have to decide.
Traditional Greek dishes given a modern treatment. Great flavors in a casual neighborhood atmosphere. Nice inclusion of approachable Greek wines by the glass. If I lived in Seattle I'd be a regular.
My breakfast just was not up to the usual standards. The eggs were way underdone. But the doughnuts as always were great!
Lola is till good, but now that they add a 20% tip to any check automatically, the servers don't give a f#ck how long anything takes.
A friend took me to Lola for the first time recently -
I liked it so much that I went back with my husband and son, who also enjoyed it!
The food was very good. I hate the fact that you automatically add 20% gratuity onto all bills even for small parties. This causes servers to not provide good service because they know they will get 20%.
Service started out hood but then when the restaurant got busy the service became non existent. Dirty plates on table for 20 minutes after we finished asked for dessert menu but after 10 went up and asked for the bill as we had to go. Really had wanted to try the baklava or have another drink but we were going to the show. We arrived at 4:40 and left at 6:10.
We’ve dined at Lola many times over the years and have recommended it to others. The food is always good and this trip was no exception. We were however, very disappointed with the service. Especially, since the 20% service charge on our bill ended up at $50.00. We weren’t asked for refills on our beverages, no one stopped by to see if our food was ok, or if we needed anything. I don’t expect a return visit.
Very loud. But, the service was outstanding. Made up for the loud noise. Food was good.
Service was horrible and not informed. Wine service was also terrible. Expect more from Tom Douglas’s staff.
Unique food, great Belltown location, popular for tourists and locals
We walked right in. The hostess already had our table waiting. The food was unbelievable. The service was perfect! The entire experience was incredible.
We enjoy Lola. Excellent and innovative Mediterranean based cuisine. Nice portion size. Excellent wine list. We were particularly pleased to note the addition of an Assyrtiko, as we had suggested that on our last visit. Highly recommend.
The quality and quantity of the food did not match the cost associated with it. The food also took a long time to come out, and it took a long time to place order, so we felt rushed.
Great date night! I’d recommend making a reservation. The chicken kabob was cooked perfectly! Big fan of the saganaki.
Our dinner at Lola was wonderful. The Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The food was amazing- everything was perfectly cooked and the flavors shone. We would highly recommend the spreads, the lamb manti appetizer and the kabobs. The made to order donuts were the perfect finish to our meal.
This place is awesome and my go to when I get to Seattle, last ate here in 2013 and on this trip it was again beyond expectations.
We had dinner at Lola on a Sunday evening. The food was great. We enjoyed the pita bread and spreads, and the lamb entree was delicious. I would go back.
