We use the highest quality and freshest ingredients, such as meat products from Niman Ranch and seafood from Connolly's in Boston. Many dishes feature breads made from scratch and all of our desserts, including our sorbets and ice cream, are made in-house. Never overbearing, entrees are innovative yet classic, simple yet refined.

We tried tasting menu with wine pairings. Food in general was extremely salty. The place was too laud that it was very hard to hear the description of the courses.
We enjoyed the tasting menu and select our wine. The range of small dishes made for wonderful meal. The owner/ chef visited our table at the end of the meal.
Lovely food and service
Everything was fantastic!
Just Superb! Feels like a hidden gem out in plain site. Incredible food, service, and experience. Highly, highly recommend.
Amazing food!!! Great service ! Already have another reservation to go back!
The food was great. It was however ruined by the service. We think our waiter was in training or new. He seemed to be nervous and forgot our drinks. Got the order wrong and just over all felt like he needed to be supervised. For the price I would expect the service quality to be higher.
Awesome food, excellent service and a very inspired chef’s menu that everyone should try
Fantastic Sea Bass
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Local. We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My wife ordered the chef’s tasting menu and I ordered several items from the regular menu that we wanted to sample. Everything was outstanding as was the service. We are so glad to see this place surviving the pandemic and offering a wonderful dining experience.
One of the best restaurants in Dallas! Get the sea bass....you will be so happy.
Food was fabulous, great date night material. Loved the idea that it's from the oldest hotel in Dallas.
Hidden gem on the outskirts of Deep Ellum that has been there for over 20 years. Truly great food, great ambiance, great service!
Intimate, friendly staff & chef/owner and outstanding quality of food from start to finish!
This is a must go to for a date, small group of friends or an evening business meeting. The setting in the former Boyd Hotel is well designed and full of architectual character.
It was a great night! We all had the Chef's Tasting. They were short one server but everyone was doing their very best. Our Waiter, Michael was great and the Bartender, Chad was AWESOME!
We went late on a weeknight so it was definitely a bit sleepy but the service ambiance and food were all incredible. We did the chefs tasting menu— slightly different than what was online but it was all wonderful surprises and great wine pours. Incredible value for comparable tasting menus with wine pairings.
Great food! Ambience was fantastic and service was even better. Thank you Tracy - always a treat to dine at Local!
Local is a Dallas gem. We live nearby and I work in the neighborhood so we're more than occasional diners. It was very cold outside on our last visit. When we entered, the restaurant was warm and cozy...welcoming as we expected.
Service was attentive. I always look forward to the amuse bouche. She served a turnip soup w crispy leaves...it was so tasty and warm. Great start to our meal. We ordered and shared the the Lobster Cakes for our appetizer. Delicious! For mains, I had the tenderloin w panko crusted tater tots (last time we were there, I had the short rib, it was so good). She chose the Sea Bass. Both dished were perfectly prepared. We ended w donut doles and vanilla bean ice cream (yes, even on the coldest night in recent memory, we enjoyed the ice cream)
Tracy and company delivered another stellar dining experience. If you've never been, you should. One of Dallas' best culinary experiences. Unpretentious, delicious food and excellent service.
I'm already looking forward to our next visit.
This has been our special occasion restaurant since they opened the doors. So glad they are surviving the pandemic so far!!!
Had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was fantastic. Love having something like this in Deep Ellum. The servers were friendly, knowledgeable and just the right amount of attentiveness
Food was amazing, every dish was perfectly executed. I felt extremely comfortable being inside, it felt like they were taking COVID protocols seriously. To top off the amazing experience, the Chef/Owner came out after our meal and explained to us the backstory of their painted brick wall. Great location for an intimate meal with someone special or a small group.
What a nice treat! We did the chefs tasting menu and were pleased with very dish. Great flavor combinations, excellent presentation and accommodations to my food allergies. We will certainly be going back to the Local.
Terrible service. We went for a special occasion and waited 45 min for a glass of wine, one hour for an appetizer, and 2 hours for food. Restaurant was not crowded and felt like apologizing to the wait staff for being there. Took what was supposed to be special and made it into a funny story about the worst service in history. No hostess, greeted by a guy who was walking by and said, someone else will help you, I’m new and don’t know what I’m doing. Someone else rolled their eyes and took us to our reserved table. No thanks. Food was great, but there are other great restaurants in Dallas. Please get better management and fix it, or it will be adios local. For the record, 2nd time we’ve had this experience. Done, and recommend you go somewhere else.
I hate to write this review, because Local used to be so much better. We were seated at 7:00 pm and ordered the tasting menu and wine. It took 20 mins to get wine. It took 30 mins to get the first course. The food was fine, but we asked for our check and left after course 5 out of 7... we had been there for two hours and 45 mins. We didn’t box it up, bc it wasn’t even ready to take to-go. The staff didn’t do anything to accommodate. It was our anniversary and we were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. We have done tasting dinners all over the country, at Michelin starred restaurants. We get that it takes time. However, at almost three hours in, and the lack of attention to guests, it took entirely too long and was really disappointing. The restaurant wasn’t even full. Another table also bailed on their remaining courses. Not sure what happened since the last time we dined but it seems like they forgot how to seat and serve multi course dinners. Maybe start doing them on the hour only, so the chef can keep up.
Enjoyed the experience! Great menu and great food overall.
First time here and one of our best dining experiences in our 3.5 years in Dallas. Have a private parking lot which is nice, and several small rooms that can only seat maybe 16 ppl each. Quiet "house" music set a bit of a vibe and muffled talking from other rooms.
We did the $85, 7 course tasting menu and added the $35 wine pairings; the dishes were all excellent, though at times certain components were over-salted to our taste (and I like salt) which we shared with the kitchen. Wine wasn't over-poured as is sometimes done in tastings; this was the right amount, especially given that you were served 7 different wines.
Soups were stand-out items; both the Celery root amuse and Roasted tomato/basil were fresh and pure, and you could clearly taste the ingredients. The accompanying mini grilled cheese was unique and fun. The sautee'd brussel sprouts were outstanding, and the scallop was also well-prepared. For us the highlight was probably the short-rib with sweet potato puree; just really well-prepared and flavorful, maybe the best short rib we've ever had. The filet was also well-executed and flavorful, though particularly over-salted. This was the only protein we felt was over-salted.
Shouldn't forget the intermezzo which was a cocnut sorbet last night; this might have been the first intermezzo sorbet I've had with texture (coconut flakes) which was an enjoyable and flavorful surprise. The apple spice cake dessert was also great.
We'll definitely return here again. The chef/restauranteur is coming up with unique and creative dishes, and we learned has been slowly expanding in this location for 15+ years. She's doing a great job!
Excellent experience, had the Sea Bass, it was perfection. Service was spot on, can't wait to go back!
Local never lets us down. A real hidden gem in Dallas, with great food, atmosphere, and service.
I've been in Dallas 4 years. I have ate at serval nice restaurants. Local is number one in my book. If you want a quite nice place to go with excellent service and food that is cooked to perfection, put this establishment on your to do list.
Very eclectic place located within oldest (1908 - not working now) Hotel in Dallas. The food is very good and can tell the Chef handcrafts all...a gem for sure.
Delicious as always! The chef’s tasting and wine pairing was wonderful and the perfect portion. We had reservations on NYE on the early side, which meant we got great, attentive service, although they appeared to get a little overwhelmed as the night grew on. Definitely will return.
Very good fod
My partner and I decided to have Christmas dinner at Local and were not disappointed. The waitstaff was amazing and made so many recommendations for us to choose from. We are pescatarians and had plenty of seafood dinner options to choose from. Wine was wonderful. Food, top notch. And ambiance, spectacular. A great location for intimate conversations.
Great food and customer service. One of a kind spot with unique atmosphere.
I’ll start with the pros. Food is well presented and delicious and flavorful. That was the highlight. Cons are service as we had duplicate servers repeat menu items to us. Our server took extremely long times in between visits which made us late to leave. I also made reservation notes about my wife’s birthday and they made no effort whatsoever nor did they acknowledge it. I mentioned it to server during ordering dessert and they threw a candle in a dessert that we ordered and called it good. It just felt pointless and careless. A little bit goes a long ways guys and you lost an opportunity to wow four new customers with thought and service. That being said foe the last con is price. I knew prices were higher but i expected it to be worth it for ambience, service, and food. With what we received I’d say me i is overpriced by 40% compared to other restaurants.
Delicious neighborhood restaurant that has been consistent for 14+ years. Love it and highly recommended
Great place- parking and food very good
The vibes were great. Excellent wine list, service. Menu choices were from fish to meat &
we enjoyed both. Music in the background was perfect. We are going back soon!
Lovely dining environment with superb fares of well presented and crafted flights of culinary joy. Treat your special someone or friends to Local. You will remember it fondly as we have these many years savoring every memory bite with smiles of gratitude and appreciation for Tracy and her staff.
