It's hard to decide what the real draw of Born & Raised San Diego is: the stunning interior or the delicious food. Whatever guests come for, they won't be disappointed. The restaurants' stunning decor with vaulted ceilings, art deco leather brown booths, crystal chandeliers, and an awe-inspiring bar and bottle display (we could go on), only serve to enhance the impressive menu, which contains a good smattering of classic, traditional steakhouse dishes. Order a ribeye, porterhouse, filet, or New York strip, and top it with some seared foie gras, truffles, or butter poached lobster and crab. Dining at Born and Raised is an experience: diners come here to indulge. For that reason, don't hold back when it's time for dessert: finish off the meal with carrot cake or custard tart. Born & Raised San Diego is a convenient walk from downtown, in Little Italy, so diners can take the opportunity to walk there (and walk off some of that decadence, post-meal).

Even non-meat eaters will be happy dining here, since the menu is vast and varied and has options like risotto, lamb chop, scallops, and halibut. Cowboy Star is fancy, with white table clothes and intimate booths for romantic conversation. But it's also wood paneled with an open kitchen and long bar for dining or drinking, so it's a good spot for visitors that want a mix of fun and fancy with their food.

The Butcher Shop Steakhouse may be located in San Diego. However, it's a Chicago-style steakhouse, and the owners of the Butcher shop do their best to make patrons feel like they are far from the shores of the Pacific and close to the shores of Lake Michigan. This Midwestern-style restaurant does the Midwestern thing well: find large cuts of meat, lots of potatoe dishes with butter, and a menu packed with comfort food. Not only is the menu at the Butcher Shop comforting, but the ambiance is warm and cozy, as well. Find plush leather banquets, dark wood accents, and a cozy fireplace that anchors the room. The Butcher Shop is in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood of San Diego, in the northern part of town.
