fine italian cuisine.
The restaurant was full but we were seated with our reservation with only a 5 min wait. The food was delicious and the timing between courses was perfect. This is a great restaurant with a wide variety of specials and all reasonably priced. Another bonus is it's a BYOB restaurant too! Desserts were delicious!
Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Just a great place for informal dining.
We really enjoy this family run restaurant. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. It is a BYOB place which is a real savings when you want to enjoy a bottle of wine with friends. The staff is very friendly. Recently, we had a reservation but had to wait a few minutes. While we were waiting, the owner came over with a tray and offered us some garlic bread while they prepared our table. It may seem like a very small touch but it was their way of saying we know you are waiting and yet we care about our customers. I have not had that experience at many other restaurants. I also highly recommend the desserts which are really very good. W e have been to Limoncello many times and have always had a good meal.
First time at this restaurant. Was not happy that I did not receive points for dinning there. Food and service was very good but the main course came out before we finished our appetizers. Other than that it was a good experience.
Limoncello is an absolute gem of a restaurant! We came from Westchester county NY for the second time to eat here. From the minute you arrive you are treated so special. The host is gracious and friendly. The service gets better from there from the opening of your own wine (it’s BYOB) and the explanation of the specials. The prices are so reasonable and the quality is superb. I had the grouper with cranberry glaze and poached pear over perfectly cooked escarole. The presentation was beautiful including the elegant dishes. My husband had the pasta Arrabiatte and he said he felt like we were back in Italy. I could go on and on but I’ll end by saying Limoncello is a top restaurant and I can highly recommend it to everyone. I just wish it were closer but I won’t let it stop us...well worth the trip!!
Service was very good. Food was very good as well, and there were many specials to choose from. My daughter cannot have gluten, and Jimmy was very knowledgeable about the menu items that she could have as well as being most accommodating when making her dinner and dessert. BYOB. We will be back.
We ate at the restaurant last week also on Christmas eve it was so good we came back for New Year's Eve. The standout apps were the mussels and fried calamari. Main dishes were the salmon and veal dish with mozzarella and prosciutto.
STILL ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN THE RIDGEWOOD AREA. FOOD THE BEST WHAT EVER ONE CHOOSES - SERVICE ALWAYS SPECIAL. WE HAVE ENJOYED THIS WARM AND INVITING SPOT FREQUENTLY FOR MANY YEARS.
Wonderful restaurant. Great food. Extremely reasonable prices.
We had a table for a party of 5 for Christmas Eve dinner. The restaurant was very crowded as would be expected. We checked in at around 10 minutes before our 7 o'clock reservation time .I mentioned to the manager that not my entire party wasn't there yet. He said not a problem and had me and my wife seated within a few minutes. He sent a waiter over to our table right away, who offered to open one of our bottles of wine while we waited for rest of our party to arrive. Service in general was as best that could be expected for a holiday night. Also one of the things we liked the most that they didn't have a limited holiday menu like most restaurants in our area have on days of special occasions. They actually had there regular menu available plus a list on specials for the day, many good choices. Items that we had that where very good that come to mind. The fried calamari, burrata, and eggplant rollatini appetizers. Main course items vodka pasta, a veal with mozzarella cheese and prosciutto dish ,and zuppa di pesce. Only one dessert was ordered ,the chocolate lava cake which was very good. With our dessert and coffee we were offered complimentary shot of sambuca, very nice touch. We are planning on going back New Years Eve.
Big room full of people talking so quite noisy. Restaurant was very busy, full, when we were there but service was still good. Food is very good.
It is amazing how organized the staff works together in this small but comfortable environment.
Always friendly atmosphere. Good food large portions. Save room for desert.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. The place was packed and had people waiting, including walk-ins. We were seated within five minutes of our Open Table reservation time.
Food was very good. The time between ordering and our appetizer arriving was a little lengthy. However, the salad after the appetizer came immediately after our appetizer dish was finished, as were the entrees after the salad.
Lobster stuffed ravioli was excellent. Veal with roasted peppers and melted mozzarella was very good.
The noise level was a little louder than normal. However, overall it was a very good experience. We will be back!
Pleasantly surprised. We were visiting and looking for good italian food. Menu looked good so made reservations for 6. When we arrived, they were slammed. Folks that did not make a reservation waited. We were promptly seated. The food was amazing. The service very tentative and accommodating. Small place with BIG food. Loved it. Will be back. Thank you for a great experience
food was excellent, 2 minor critiques - lighting was too bright and one of us felt there should have been more time between servings
As usual food and service were excellent, just a pleasure to dine there.
Excellent Italian Restaurant with exceptional service.
The food is always delicious and very consistent.
Desserts are great too - and asked tngt to find out they are all homemade too!
Will return soon!!
Food was delicious, the service excellent and the value could not be beat.
Excellent food, the raviolis are delicious and the wait staff is very professional! Will definitely go back!
Fantastic. Never disappoints!
Excellent as always, like visiting family. Generous staff
It’s a very nice place to take your date and have a quiet dinner together. Not loud and not too presumptuous. More of a cozy genuine Italian feeling. The staff is very attentive. The portion sizes are good and the quality of the food is good to excellent. The menu choices are enough that everyone could find something. They do fish very well here. There are a couple of excellent desserts that are not on the menu. Bring your own wine but if you forget there’s a liquor store next-door with some decent bottles. Anyone who lives within 20 minutes of here and wants to try a local feeling place for a good Italian dinner should reserve a table and enjoy! There also appears to be a happy group of regular clientele here. We went with a small group of friends on another occasion and the staff was good about what to share for the table. Good for groups of eight or less.
Good food and very reasonably priced.
I am very impressed with their service. I ordered balsamic calamari and did not care for it, however I did not tell that to the wait staff. Between the bread and the salad that I ordered I was full. When they saw I wasn’t eating the food they asked me if I wanted it wrapped and I said no thank you. They immediately wanted to know if there was something wrong with it I explained there was nothing wrong with it I just didn’t want it and thanked them for their concern. I had no problem at all with the fact that I didn’t care for it and I did not want to cause any issue. They offered me a replacement, a dessert on the house, limoncello on the house, etc. they were so generous, I kept saying no thank you really everything is fine not to worry about it I was just not that hungry. As we were paying our check they brought me an order of calamari to take home on the house. Their concern and service could not be better!
My husband had the chicken parmigiana and kept saying it was delicious!
We will definitely be going back, I am amazed at their customer service.
Not our first time here. The food is always outstanding as well as the service. Highly recommend.
Our go to Italian restaurant! Everyone loves it! It’s like being in your own home, without the cleanup and mess!!! Thanks, Jimmy and family for always making us feel like famiglia!!!
I made reservations for 4. When we got there we were seated immediately and the waiter came over to our table. He was very helpful. I have been there before and I wanted to take my friends there because I knew they would enjoy it too. The food was delicious, as usual.
We were celebrating a birthday and everything was wonderful. We all had the Snapper- excellent!
I have discovered a new favorite neighborhood place
The food was delicious, the service was really great and quick. It was not loud by any means. The lemonade was very good and they offered different styles of Italian food so there was something different from every other Italian restaurant. I would definitely eat there again!
It’s an Albanian restaurant. All staff were I think hispanic, South American, Mexican - i don’t really know. I do know they barely spoke English
Food came out like an assembly line and dumped on table, no finesse here. Food is good though and price is good
Have eaten here before. Food is not stellar but is consistently very good. Definitely older crowd befitting the old school ambiance. Burata was very good. The entrees of bolognese and zuppa di pesce were served piping hot just the way we like it. Kitchen is open to changes from menu which is very helpful. We were comped a dessert which was a very nice touch. At the end we were also offered Limoncello as a digestive but we declined. Fyi, its byob. Service is attentive but not overbearing. All in all a good choice for dinner and we will return again.
Fabulous food and staff, Generous portions, Not to be overlooked.
As usual delicious
Great evening out. Food great, fish prepared perfectly. Service was great.
Very nice byob. Food is tasty. Just skip the dessert. But very good dinners!
Food was very good ..I had soft shell crab entree ..balsamic calamari & eggplant rollatini for appetizer...but the servers left something to be desired ....zero personality or warmth even by the owner when told were celebrating a50 yr wedding anniversary 🙄
Our server was attentive & our food was very good. My only complaint is that I ordered the shrimp with escarole & the escarole must not have been washed thoroughly so it was sandy. The sauce on the shrimp & escarole was delicious but I was afraid I was going to either chip or crack a tooth because of the sand.
Nothing elaborate setting but the food was very good and would definitely go back that . The only strange thing was the help. Not very nice, very robotic with no personality at all. This is to be said for all the people who worked there, management and servers. It's not that I wanted a conversation but when asked a question it was answered and that was it. Perhaps because there was a few parties going on and it was crowded. But it is all about the food and that I had no issue with.
Fine food and great service. Staff is very nice. Not our first time, will definitely be back
