Consistently very good here, classic dishes and professional service.
this is just the restaurant everyone wants as their local; lovely food, comfortable service, great ambiance, piano music setting the customers with a feeling of wellbeing. From kir to coffee it's a delight. only gripe is that the truffles could be less sweet to be perfect!
Keep going back as the food never disappoints and the service is good so you can’t go wrong for a nice dinner out
Lovely place. Cant fault the food, the venue or the staff. And you get some jazz thrown in.
A real favourite with consistently great food, beautiful setting and warm welcome.
Wonderful Cote de Boeuf, great wine and live piano/bass jazz - felt almost like pre-lockdown halcyon days!
Always like going but thought was very expensive on the wine front !
Food under seasoned. Wine good. Service good. Only three tables in the room we were sat in. Reasonable decor.
Always a pleasure
Great staff, and the atmosphere and food were excellent. The duck was amazing, recommend this dish. The live jazz makes this place really special.
One of my favourite restaurants in London and so good to see it back open. Excellent food and wonderful service. It felt a perfectly safe venue to dine at and the unobtrusive COVID secure measures made the evening feel like a welcome slice of normality
A fantastic experience as always. This remains a wonderful restaurant. Our food was first rate and the wine list is reasonable. Add to that the great staff and service and you have a perfect combination.
Absolutely superb, great food and service, thought I was in a bistro in France lovely ambience and outstanding tasty food. The starter of burrata, lovely flavours, guinea fowl, could not fault the dish. The apricot tart, had very crisp pastry and was divine. A great restaurant to share with friends and family. Felt safe inside as well as all staff wore masks and we wore masks if moving from our table. Would higly recommend.
Really amazing steak, lovely restaurant. Very attentive staff in these difficult times.
Great to be able to return to this wonderful restaurant. Good ambience, excellent service and food in a thoroughly relaxed and safe environment
Lovely atmosphere, great food as always. The piano Performance was grand! My favorite French place by far
Such a gem of a place. Had the cote de boeuf which was superlative.
This was a great venue for Valentines Day - an authentic French bistro and live piano music. The food was ok, not special. Service was good.
Terrible service not idea what they are doing . What happens to those waiters that made the place so good. The guy on the door should be taught how to make people feel welcome
The ambiance, service and location was very good. However was disappointed by the overall quality of the cookery. The soup lacked flavor and the meat dish was dry. Maybe the chef had an off day.
Decent, authentic French bistro in a pretty mews location, nice ambience, good food and service.
A very attractive restaurant off Charterhouse Square where tables are not too close together. Food was excellent and served well.
Hadn’t been to this place for years but it was unchanged thank goodness. The food is great, wine list very good and not too expensive. One of the best authentic French restaurants left in London. Highly recommended.
A wonderful French Bistro on a quiet backstreet of London. The food, wine and service were excellent - highly recommended!
A piece of Paris in Central London, this is a very good French bistro. Classic French fare backed up by good service and a decent wine list.
Just love this restaurant.
My first experience of the restaurant and surpassed my expectations which had been built up via strong recommendations from others.
I used to be a regular here - one of my favourites when I was working.
I was keen to return and wasn’t disappointed.
Lovely restaurant and very attentive staff.
The portions were a little small
Pre-concert dinner at 6pm.
Delicious food from a broad but not too long menu. Prompt service. Table in the middle of the restaurant was a bit cramped, but was easier to get quick service.
Food very good as always. Waiter failed to tell us about the £10 supplement on the additional fish fish on the lunch menu. Brought the bill then revised it after we had coffee and managed to try to charge for 8 meals rather than 4 - apologetic but such a glaring error it should have been noticed. Tried to serve us two additional desserts and a bottle of wine ordered by another table - all in all rather shambolic service, which was a little disappointing
Excellent as usual. Bravo!
Consistent high standard of food and wine, welcome and service
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and it provides consistently good food and value for money. It is an ideal venue for both business meetings and social events. As always the service was well-timed and friendly.
I have been visiting Le Cafe du Marche for over 30 years. Throughout the quality of the food and service have remained excellent. (I think the decor is unchanged too, but that is part of the charm of the place.) I would recommend unreservedly!
Everything was just perfect as usual. This has become our favourite restaurant and we will certainly be back again and again and again.......
It’s been over three years since my last visit it has maintained its high standards. A small but varied menu, well cooked and presented. Look forward to returning.
Soupe de Poisson, duck leg Bourguignon, cheese plate all impeccable. Nardi Brunello 2012 a decent value. I never had to fill my own wine glass; not that I mind, but it’s a sign of a (full) restaurant firing on all cylinders when you don’t. Subdued but buzzy. One of London’s best classic French restaurants.
Terrific as ever. Proper French cooking done well.
The halibut dish with hollandaise was superb.
