Wonderful food and ambiance! Loved it!
We have been to Lavendou and find it worth the drive north. Not only was it busy Saturday at 7pm, but moderately noisy. Get reservations. The wine list is superb and I found an excellent premier cru French Chablis for reasonable cost. Our waiter was excellent and our wine and water never reached bottom! Though busy, he was attentive. The service plummeted when appetizers were served from the rear. This was later complicated when our entrees were brought immediately after completing our appetizers and dishes were on the table; thus no place to put the food!!! Even 5minutes would have been ok. Our waiter apologized and service was perfect. The soufflé was outstanding and highly recommended. My branzino was excellent but wife’s pasta with seafood lacking. Still recommend for dinner with friends.
Birthday celebration. Enjoy celebrating special occasions here.
A real French restaurant and neighborhood gem. You can always count on this restaurant to please your guests with the freshest ingredients and a very diverse menu. Their wine list is impressive and very reasonably priced. You will never be disappointed.
Outstanding restaurant and food! The tenderloin with peppercorn sauce is always my favorite! One of our favorite restaurants!
I had the Quiche of the Day, and it was excellent. Also, the steamed vegetables were cooked perfectly. Also enjoyed an Apricot Tart. As always, I enjoyed the ambiance of your restaurant. Server was very nice!
We had a wonderful experience at Lavendou. Our waiter, Theo, was excellent. We have had him before and always enjoy his service and charm.
The place is really nice, we came at 7:00 pm and it was empty, we thought of leaving (big mistake) but fortunately we stayed and the place started to get busy at 7:30.
The service was excellent, drinks were perfect and the food was spectacular.
We enjoyed every moment there and it was a perfect anniversary dinner.
Always love the French onion soup💕. The Flan dessert was mouth watering delicious.
Enjoyed a delicious lunch. The crepes are wonderful. Service is excellent and you never are rushed.
The night was perfect!
Hostess was fun! Our waiter was excellent!
Thank you all!
Lavendou was wonderful, as usual. It’s such a treat to have this quality of a restaurant in my own neighborhood. The food is always outstanding, the service very personable and efficient, and you feel like they honestly care about your dining experience. If you haven’t tried it, you should!
Excellent French cuisine! One of my favorites ! The salad was fresh , the fish entree was flavorful and delicious! I will certainly go back again with my family.
Waiter was friendly & tried hard, but poor etiquette...reached across one diner to place & remove other diner’s plates even though there was plenty of space by the other diner. Interrupted often!
Reunion with special friends
Great food and service as always! Didn’t realize that particular evening would have music. Was hard to have a conversation since this was a business meal. Otherwise, would’ve been tolerable. Was odd hearing music that didn’t quite match the ambiance ie Hotel California, various pieces from ABBA, Fiddler on the Roof musical, and selections that sounded reminiscent of Zamfir and the pan flute. Very eclectic. Overall, extremely nice people, great food, service and ambiance.
Excellent service and wonderful food each time. So many different choices (steak, pork, fish, chicken, etc.) Great wine menu also. It is always busy so it's a good idea to have a reservation.
Experience was great: food, decoration, service were all very good. I am French and so really enjoyed that I felt i was in France for a few hours.
People are very friendly. Will go again soon !
You have to expect a bit pricier than normal restaurant but fully worth it !
They do a great job on food and the staff is excellent.
We visited for my mother's 90th birthday during restaurant week.
We were seated in a nice corner area. The noise level was fairly high between diners and Placido Domingo singing an aria.
The appetizers were ok. Tomato Basil soup tasted oddly like Campbell's, sugary sweet.
The enters were good. One guest received the wrong dinner and it took at least 15 minutes to receive the correct one. Our desserts were all good and the manager provided complementary champagne for the table to celebrate the birthday, or to take care of the entire issue.
I will return, but not during restaurant week!
Never disappoints. We were a group of 5 girlfriends meeting for lunch. Three of the 5 had never been before. They loved it and plan to return very soon with their families. The food, service and ambiance are 5 star
Our only real complaint was the noise level of the guitarist. He was extremely loud for the restaurant size. If we had known how disturbing it would be to our conversation then we would have insisted upon sitting outside. We always live going to Lavendou but this experience was not great.
Excellent service. The Pork Loin is wonderful. The meat is perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce. The raspberry soufflé is melt in your mouth delicious.
An amazing experience all around! You know you’re in for an excellent French meal when all of the staff is speaking (shouting) to each other in French!!
To say it was spectacular would be doing a disservice to Lavendou Bistro. Every aspect of our time there really was top-notch.
You have to go to find out just HOW good!
Food and service as always was excellent! Only problem was the noise. It was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation without having to repeat every word and scream at each other. Lunch is much more enjoyable.
Great wine, great food
Awesome place to eat and everybody that works there including the owner are very friendly and Bernie is a great waiter!
Food is outstanding quality. There was a minor problem with service but they more than made up for it.
I really enjoy going here. The food is always good and not overpriced
Theo always makes is special. It never dissapoints.
Always a delight to dine in the lovely setting of Lavendou. I succumbed to mussels and the devine Apricot tart.
Can't wait to go back! Waiter was young, fresh, and new; but will be a great server with a little more experience. I loved this place. The musician was exceptional!
Knowledgeable waiter who had good suggestions to meet our requests. Guitar player was a pleasant treat
One of our favorite restaurants in N.Dallas/Plano area. Consistently great food, the best french onion soup in Dallas, and excellent service.
The food was EXCELLENT. The best restaurant I've been to in Dallas so far. The owner of the restaurant is French and many of the wait staff and customers, too!
The bread tastes like it is from France or New York... definitely nothing like you ever taste in Dallas. The scallop, shrimp, mushroom, spinach in a cream sauce with a puff pastry is to die for. Also, the escargot was amazing! My husband got the duck and lobster bisque and they were both delightful! The desserts and cappuccinos were also so good. I love creme brulee and this one was a hit!
I took off 1 star for service as the hostess is a bit clueless. It was our one-year anniversary as we indicated on the reservation and she gave us a table by the kitchen (only really bad one in the entire place) where waitresses and waiters butts would constantly be in your face. This was after she told us, "I see your reservation. Go to the bar, I have two tables before you to sit." That was a bit odd of wording. Also, we got to the bar and wanted to order a bottle of wine (as we knew we would have more at dinner) and the gentlemen told us that "they prefer you to order a bottle of wine at the table", only a glass here. So, these beginnings snafus were a bit odd to me, but the food and wait service after more than made up for it. Pascal, the owner, also brought us complimentary sparkling wine and asked many times if we enjoyed our meal as he wanted to make up for the poor hostess experience in the beginning.
First time at this restaurant. Wine was superb. Steak was slightly over cooked but still very tender. Vegetable tart was lovely. Would come again
Creative and excellent French-inspired cuisine in a comfortable environment. Service is top-notch.
Excellent every time. Wonderful restaurant and great staff.
