Eating under the tent was delightful. In this age of Covid the tables were well spaced. The food was delicious as usual.

Celebrated my mother’s birthday as she loved dining here earlier. From the ease of making reservations through “open table” to the quality service and absolutely mouth watering dining experience this is a must for anyone who wants true French cuisine.
Their wine selection is impressive and we decided on a nice pinot to compliment our meals.
The fresh bread is amazing as are the garlic toast, we had a lobster bisque and French Onion soup which were delicious. The Caesar salad was perfect. Our entrées consisted of Beef Bourguignon that was oh so tender and served with seasoned organic vegetables. The Rainbow trout fillet served with organic vegetables with toasted almonds and lemon brown butter Jawas cooked perfectly and tasted magnificent. The Grand Marnier and raspberry soufflé for dessert was perfect light airy and delicious The waitstaff also brought a small chocolate truffle desert with a candle as we were celebrating a birthday. Almost three hours later, we were finished and so happy we chose to dine here.
Unfortunately it was raining so we could not walk their garden and park like setting outside, but we will be back very soon.
Well done to everyone there!

Excellent food and service in a great outdoor setting under a tent. We even had a severe thunderstorm, and they were able to close in the sides and keep everyone dry. Actually was fun being outdoors in the rain!

Service is impeccable. Food is delicious. Best restaurant in the entire DC area.

Awesome service today - our server was David. He was so thorough and attentive to our needs. Food was delicious! Outside seating area was amazing even on a very hot day. Fans are blowing under the big marquee. Did not feel hot at all.

Everything was wonderful. We really appreciate every effort that the folks at L’Auberge made in order to create a safe dining experience! We sat outside under the tent. It was lovely. And very comfortable with the fans. My first experience at a restaurant in five months due to COVID. It was a treat!!

Perfect as always. Even in a pandemic, Chez Francois manages to shine bright. The menu was limited, but should be expected during these times. Perhaps so much abundance has been taken for granted in the past. Cheers! Looking forward to another fabulous visit soon.

Remains a top 10 DC place -- the food, the service, and the atmosphere are superb -- proved to be a wonderful place to break from the quarantine in a serious and gracious manner.

This was my first meal at a restaurant since the COVID lockdown began and it has set a very high bar. I had a late outdoor dinner here last night and it was amazing. The service was impeccable, as usual. I’ve been several times in the past and this meal was the best (get the tenderloin!). A large high-ceiling tent has been set up which seems to cover the whole patio. It rained throughout the meal, but we didn’t even notice. Tables were spaced widely apart and they’re set in from the edges so no rain is dripping or blowing on you. It was so nice to have so much space between tables so you could easily have a quiet conversation.

It was our 50th anniversary and the staff were unaware until dessert arrived and our neighbors had a gift card delivered to our table. The staff then delivered champagne to our table. It was a lovely evening

Covid has limited the menu selection to Fixe-Prixe items. Although Duck a l'Orange, fried frog legs, or steak tartare, etc weren't available, the overall experience was still good. We had the Chateaubriand de l’Auberge (for two) for entree and grand marnier hot soufflé for dessert. They were both excellently done. Since it was my wife's birthday, they brought an extra dessert with candle. Lots of nice touches throughout and we weren't disappointed. Great place to go for special occasions. (We felt safe eating inside: there was table social distancing, all staff/employees wore masks, they disinfected everything (table, credit card, and even pens) before use.)

we have dined at L'Auberge Chez Francois many times before. This was our first restaurant dinner since we began to stay home under the Covid pandemic. The restaurant took all necessary precautions to protect staff and diners.
As always the service and the ambience were excellent. The only disappointment was the heirloom tomato salad which Was drowning in dressing and the tomatoes were less than satisfactory.
Otherwise the four of us were very happy with our dinners and of course we will go back.

Wonderful but not what it’s always been the 36 years I’ve been going. I’m sure the impact of Covid is a key factor, from reduced menu offerings to too spaced apart table arrangements and very good but not exquisite fare. I know Jacque is working harder than ever to preserve the family legacy and I greatly appreciate him. I’ll keep coming back for certain.
