L'Auberge Chez Francois
Great experience, great food, superb service. Would definitely go back for anniversaries and special events.
Wonderful meal and service for our anniversary.
One of my favorite restaurants for special occasions. Excellent service, food and ambience .
Excellent service and food. It is expensive but I believe worth it.
L'Auberge Chez Francois is by far our favorite dining place in the Washington D.C. area. The food and service are superb and the noise level, even when the restaurant is crowded, is much more tolerable than many other places in the vicinity.
We live in Maryland, so the drive to the Auberge, particularly at night, can be a challenge, For that reason, we now tend to go for lunch, which is always excellent.
L'Auberge Chez Francois never disappoints! Merci beaucoup!
Outstanding as usual! Love the restaurant! We always come here for special occasions.
My wife's meal was outstanding! My lobster claws were very good the tail was so tuff could not eat.
It wasn’t crowded. Beautiful ambiance. Excellent service. Delicious food and wine. I have recommended it twice since then.
We had a great birthday dinner here. The service was perfect, the food was served beautifully and tasted amazing. A great way to celebrate a special occasion.
Perfect place to take my out-of-town sister and brother-in-law for his birthday!
Everything about the evening was wonderful. Food was delicious, Sammy, our server was fabulous, atmosphere was warm and cozy.
Always a fantastic dining experience. Will definitely be coming back.
It would have received 5 stars, but for the waiter spilling wine on a guest, etc. They tried to make up for it and were partially successful, but once the wine was spilled it did spoil the special occasion a bit. Great job trying to recoup from this accident though.
We have been able to return to L'Auberge Chez Francois several times over the past year for cooking classes as well as for lunch and dinner. We find that it is always a wonderful experience with outstanding food, high quality service, and always a memorable meal. We look forward to returning again soon.
The Sunday Luncheon at L'Auberge Chez Francois is a tremendous value. Our party of three enjoyed a delicious multi-course meal, with drinks, for less than $200. L'Auberge remains our "go-to" restaurant for special occasions.
Our server Samy was awesome! He was so helpful with the menu and helped me surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. My boyfriend enjoyed his birthday dinner very much. The food was perfect and the desserts.. don’t get me started on them. Sooo good!! We both left feeling like little piggies.
Outstanding food and service. Amazing how this place is consistently great, year after year
Always a great treat!
Beautiful, relaxed setting, so warm and cozy. Outstanding service and each morsel was delicious. We come to her to celebrate our most precious occasions. The chocolate souffle is 100% perfect, and mussels are to live for, the seafood soup excellent. The blue salad was a bit to heavy on the cheese and tartness, wouldn't order again.
Excellent meal, wonderful service. Overall lovely evening.
It was really amazing. Ask to be served by Sami, and than it will be perfect!!
as a;ways this is a great place to feel pampered and enjoy a wonderful meal. My friend and I appreciated the great service, (thanks Anjelica), great food and just sense of a special place that values us and wants our experience to be superb, which it was. We have been coming here for years, for special events and just to do something lovely.
As always, a wonderful dining experience. Celebrated mom's 80th birthday. Jacque and his team are exceptional.
Very good food. Enjoyed the ambience and service.
Our waiter, David was terrific! The food and entire dining experience was, as usual, superb.
Fantastic food, excellent service and amazing ambience!
Great, just great. The one exception was with the Alsatian Special over sauerkraut - the whole sausage - looked like a small hot dog - was a bit rubbery.
We really enjoyed our total experience at Chez, for a nice Sunday lunch. The menu presents some very good choices of Country food inspired from Alsace in East France. You get to choose a multi course meal under 50 bucks, in a first class atmosphere. Our server, David was was knowledgeable and attentive. We eat downstairs in Jacques all the time, and this change up was a real treat. The whole staff is special and act like a family. Victoria finished our coffee with complementary chocolate truffles. The place is cozy and just fancy enough, but not over the top. You feel like you are out in the country for a a wonderful time.
Worth a trip out to experience this!
This was a first visit and the food and atmosphere did not disappoint. This was a truly wonderful experience!! We will definitely come back for other special occasions in the future!
Poor service. Mediocre food. Uncomfortable chairs and high prices. My wife and I were really disappointed.
Consistently excellent over many years. Lunch is not rushed, and not crowded, and perhaps a better value than dinner.
Everyone was friendly and professional! We especially liked Jose, who was a terrific waiter.
An observation: I notice that all the fish entrees also contain at least one type of shellfish. I would recommend offering at least one fish choice that doesn't include shellfish. I asked for the option of substituting roasted potatoes for the crabmeat element of my dish. My request was readily granted, but shellfish allergy is fairly common and not everyone will figure out an alternative.
I enjoyed the rainbow trout!
We are from out-of-state so we cannot get to eat here as often as we like, but we stop here each time we come for a visit. The food is great and the service outstanding.
Chez François is delightfully bright, charming, with stain glass windows - a place of comfort in the country. Attention to detail - that's what makes it special - from the greeting to the table service. Linen table clothes, every dish is hot and delicious, portions are perfect. Menu choices are numerous and the food is perfectly french with many sauces and conversational flavors. It is a pleasant break from loud trendy modern restaurants. You can talk in a normal voice and feel relaxed. We chose the fixed price luncheon menu as we celebrated a special friend.
Went for lunch for my wife's birthday and had the five course fixed priced menu. The quality of the food was excellent, as was the service, paced well and friendly but not overbearing. They also brought out a special birthday desert treat for my wife.
A very enjoyable experience
I always feel at home here. The food and service are impeccable and the ambiance is hard to beat. One of, if not the most favorite restaurant I've ever eaten at.
The absolute best place to catch up with old friends or celebrate a special occasion
Great everything. My wife’s birthday— she loved it
