A word from Chef:Why Not? "Perche' No" means Why Not in Italian...I thought this would be the perfect name for my next venture because of how it came to be. I originally thought I was ready to retire after 25+ years in the restaurant industry. It turns out that the more time I spent away from the kitchen, the more I realized how much I missed cooking and sharing good food with my community. So, when the possibility of opening a new restaurant in Downtown Tucson was presented to me, I thought "Perche' No" - why not?Chef Bruno Girardi

Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table. We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required. We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant on our trip to Tucson! After much research on restaurants for our visit I settled on Tito and Pep and it didn’t disappoint. Flavor profile of all dishes was put together beautifully! Hopefully my daughter goes to U of A so I can return over and over again.

We had an excellent meal at Perche’ No last night. We shared a delicious Burrata, my wife then enjoyed her salad, and I had the pleasure of eating their Short Rib Tortellacci which tasted amazing and was beautifully presented. Highly recommend

At this point, we're sort of "regulars," dining there once or twice a month. The service was very good, as usual. And, for some reason, the food was particularly excellent that evening — perhaps due to a different cook? At any rate, we will continue to come back again and again. We love Redbird!

Surprisingly quiet for Halloween dinner before a show. Service was quick and efficient. Fennel sausage pizza and the pepperoni were both fantastic. Thick enough to enjoy without filling up on dough. And a trip to Reilly's should include a jaunt downstairs to the Tough Luck Club. We'll be back.
