A couple notes about the Taverna-We stop taking day of reservations after 4pm. Please call the restaurant after 4pm.We do not accept parties of 4 people or more. We are a small restaurant with only 22 seats and cannot accommodate larger parties. Established in April of 2015, The Taverna serves authentic Greek fare while remaining true to our Greek roots. Located in Portland's Old Port District, Fore Street opened in June, 1996. The interior surrounds a unique brick and soapstone hearth with a wood-burning oven, grill and turnspit; visible from most tables. We believe that good food travels the shortest possible distance between the farm and the table. Our menu changes every day and is founded upon the very best raw materials from a community of Maine farmers, fisherman, foragers and cheese makers. Most of the Maine foods are organically grown or harvested wild, each brought to us at the peak of its season. In 2002 and again in 2007, Fore Street was named by Gourmet Magazine as one of the Top Fifty Restaurants in the United States. Sea Dog Brewing Co. Topsham is located at 1 Bowdoin Mill Island. The highlights on the menu include the lobster roll and the hazelnut porter along with the spicy volcano burger. There are also quite a few options when it comes to brews such as the east India ale the raspberry ale and golly wobble ale. The volcano burger is the crowd puller, which comes along with spicy tomatillo salsa that can easily take you to burger heaven for a few minutes.Sea Dog Brewing Co. also has weekly specials added to the menu so there's always something interesting to try out for the first time. The seating arrangements are nice and comfy and the helpful staff makes the Sea Dog Brewing Co. a real treat to visit.

    I specifically went to Pomelia’s last night to try their limited special “lamb ossobucco“ . It was delicious, as were all the other special dishes I have tried in the past. Big enough to share. I hope this one makes the menu like the Seafood Granatini did or at least a frequent special for the colder months. Pomelia’s is an outstanding restaurant with a great wait staff. A winning combination, and for me, well worth a 45 minute drive to dine there.

    My cod dinner was without a doubt the best meal of my life - and I am 78 years old. Clam chowder was delicious as well. We come yo Portland from MA just to eat st Scales. Our very favorite restaurant anywhere.

    Great seafood place.. the clam chowder was so good.. buttery and full of clams and chunky potatoes.. I had the crab quesadillas as my dinner and it was the perfect size.. a hint of spice and lots of yummy crab.. my husband had the large salad with chicken and finished it! Chicken was well cooked and tasty.. I also loved the video showing the history of the restaurant!

    The clam chowder was excellent. My bowl with Korean Pork was excellent. May I suggest adding a bit more pork to the bowl because it was superior flavor.
