- MMelanieSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews4.0Dined on 22 Oct 2026TwinFlame Oakland, similar to Tokyo's famous Hikiniku To Come. The menu is intentionally simple - they only have one main dish which is the wagyu hamburg steak. I don't want to compare TwinFlame from the origina Hikiniku from Tokyo because they each have their own take and charm but still worth the try. We loved the hamburg steak, it was juicy. For some it may be underwhelming but for our family of 3 - it was just right and perfect for our liking. The sauces were just fine. The stuff that we loved were: Ponzu sauce, poached egg, Yuzu Highball, unlimited rice, the Gim-mari and Gamja jeon (esp the truffle aioli) and of course the perfect ending - the matcha ice cream. Special mention to our server, Liam. The service was excellent!More infoTwinflame$$$$• Japanese Speciality• Oakland•4.7

Definitely a trek if you live on the peninsula as we do (we took BART and then it is a 15 min walk), so it won't be a regular place, but we will be back. We went for a birthday during the week and scored the lower price for the prix fixe - something they do that I think is super cool. If you sit at the counter you can do al a carte - which is more or less the same menu with different portion sizes. Finally, if you have the option, try the arepa with tuna. I think it was the best thing on the menu and one of the best things that I've eaten in a restaurant in some time!More infoMago$$$$• Contemporary Latin• Oakland•4.8
