- FfionaVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoOur party came to La Grande Boucherie to celebrate a birthday, and was looking for an upscale fine dining experience. We got exactly that, and our server Tim made the evening incredibly special! A bread basket with warm baguettes was brought out with a lovely soft butter and flaky sea salt. I believe our table ended up having two more bread baskets throughout the meal. Our table of six shared three hors d'oeuvres: escargots, french onion soup, and foie gras. The escargots were delicious, done very classic and served out of the shell. The french onion soup was the crowd favorite. The foie gras was decadent, although the toast it and the escargots came with was a thick soft bread lightly toasted, and we preferred the baguette from the bread basket. For drinks I had the La Touissant cocktail and a Hendricks martini twist. La Touissant was a bright cocktail that was fun and bubbly. It was served in a stemless wine glass. My martini was perfect, and the stemware was stunning! The nicoise was my entree, this was well balanced and a healthy portion size. Others at the table had moules frites, porc diane, bolognese, ribeye, and duck cassoulet. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, although the ribeye came closer to medium than medium rare. After dinner we were deciding on dessert and five of us got Sauternes, and one got Amaro. The wine was lovely, and a great night cap. Tim then brought ice cream and champagne for our table to celebrate the birthday which was incredibly kind and made the birthday girl feel so special. I spoke to Tim as an aside to put my card down so there was no haggling at the end of dinner; he handled it incredibly well and snuck it back to me so no one noticed! The server assistant was also amazing, we were a boisterous table and everyone at La Grande Boucherie made sure we had a spectacular experience and my friend had a marvelous birthday dinner!More infoLa Grande Boucherie - DCPrice: Very Expensive• French• Washington•4.3
- SSandraPhoenix / Arizona •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe Smith is one of my favorite places to dine while in DC. The quality of service and food is always amazing. They offer a sufficient variety for groups. Also I don’t know how you hire but you can always trust your server’s recommendation for food and drinks. At least I’ve never been steered the wrong way!More infoThe Smith – Penn Quarter, Washington, D.CPrice: Expensive• American• Penn Quarter•4.6
- HHaotanLas Vegas •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoThis restaurant is magnificent. You just need to make a reservation several hours in advance and you can get good seats. My seats were right beside a window through which the federal department building was visible. The atmosphere in the restaurant was extremely good and the waiter was super nice. We ordered crab cake, ribeye steak, seafood pasta, and New England clam chowder. All of them were very delicious. Price is not very high ($50~60 each person) compared with many other famous restaurants in DC. I would highly recommend it to other travelers.More infoOld Ebbitt GrillPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown•4.8
- LLamiWashington, D.C. Area •18 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis is the fifth time we’ve eaten here over the years and it’s a wonderful surprise every time. The mezze options are tremendous and never have had one I didn’t love. Service always impeccable and professional. Great open space. Very energetic and extremely busy. High noise level so not the place for a quiet or romantic dinner. A fabulous place for great food, fun with friends. We spend at least 2-3 hours every time we go there with friends and never have felt rushed. The wine list is excellent. Prices very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Not formal either. Business casual. Not often one finds a restaurant that over the years quality is consistently superb. Zaytinya never disappoints!More infoZaytinya - DCPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Penn Quarter•4.7
