I would highly recommend the afternoon tea. The staff are always so welcoming and make the experience pleasant.
Un restaurante que ofrece un alto nivel gastronómico y una vista excepcional
Couldn't have had a better meal. The service was excellent. The staff could not have been more attentive. I give it 5 stars
Beautiful atmosphere and early on a Saturday morning was perfect. If you are looking to get the view but not spend as much as dinner, breakfast is the way to go. Wonderful lattes, yummy green juice, and great breakfast options. The view was perfect for my friends first time in DC.
Great experience and view of the city. Although menu is very short, it is worth visiting.
It was a formidable experience. Asked my then girlfriend to marry me ( n she said yes).
We had the best waiter ever ( his name was Emmanuel). Will definitely came there again.
Another amazing brunch at the Hay Adam’s. Currently, all of the dining is on the top floor and the view of the White House is unmatched. Top notch service, had a wonderful time. Will be back next Sunday in fact! Easy 5 stars.
I had a time of my life there. Place is extremely gorgeous and all the staff is very professional. I ordered salmon and it’s was amazing.
Would definitely come back
Thank you for your wonderful review! We hope to see you back again soon.
Dinner was delicious, Service was amazing and to top it off the views of the White House were unmatched. One of the best meals I've had in the city
Dear Pman22, Our staff is thrilled to hear you enjoyed your dinner. The views are certainly amazing! Hope to see you back again soon.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday and it was the most beautiful and elegant restaurant for that!
Thank you for choosing us to celebrate your special day!
Exceptional experience, staff obviously tries very hard to satisfy their diners. Giovanni was a jewel!
The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent and friendly. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. They were offering seating on the 9th floor (usually reserved for private parties) due to Coronavirus (very spacious with doors that open onto the terrace). It was a special treat to have the awesome view added in!
The view and dessert were fantastic. Efrain was great with suggestions and excellent service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Great food and service combined with an amazing view.
Dining at the Hay is always something special, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have really got it right with regard to a staff that understands service that does't feel done by rote.
My only complaint, and it is a big one...the prospect of diners (most) arriving in jeans and wilderness boots for a Saturday night dinner is unacceptable. Not in what would otherwise be an elegant affair, and not at these prices. DC restaurants are going to either have to make and enforce a dress code, or expect absolutely everything to go downhill.
Went here to send off a friend before she moved away from DC. It was the perfect spot! Exceptional service and food and the view is absolutely priceless. At every level, in every way, it felt special. Thank you, thank you!
Food and atmosphere were super! The prices were very fair, especially for its great location in DC. Staff were attentive but not hovering.
Wow! Just fantastic view and superb proficient service! Will highly recommend and be back again!
Beautiful and elegant. Food was delicious, wait staff was perfect. If you want a very nice dinner - this is by far the best place to go. It has a beautiful view of the White House too!
Absolutely fabulous staff! Very friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks were delicious. Would recommend the sea bass at dinner. The bakery items at breakfast are all good choices, too.
Dining room was beautiful. It was on the 9th floor with a view overlooking the White House. The food was phenomenal. We had the filet. We had excellent service as well, our waiters made our anniversary very special and romantic. Highly recommend.
This is the perfect place for a fancy dinner in a quiet, romantic place. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful -- my partner and I felt like we were on the Titanic!
They have moved it to the 9th floor event space for covid... which is where their promo pics are taken. So you get the headline view of the white house. It was about as perfect as could be.
An Unforgettable Brunch Experience. A room with a view.
Amazing! My first time here and everything were perfect!
Definitely I will come back!
The entire experience was breathtaking. View of the White House and Washington Monument added to a beautiful evening. Highly recommend and we will be back again and again.
A dinner of soup and scallops, and the scallops were cooked beautifully. Crusty bread, simple wine - and a birthday guest at another table, and clearly accomplished, took the bench at the piano and played beautifully for one classic piece. Perhaps Brahms. This is quite an unusually comfortable setting, and the atmosphere is distinct due to superb service.
Perfectly broiled lamb chops followed the soup of the day, reasonable wine, and delicious cocktail from the bar menu. It's a gracious, comfortable dining experience
Great to be back! But PLEASE bring back Clarence and the pre Covid menu!
Best part of our trip to DC! The food was divine, and the views we’re breathtaking. If it wasn’t for this stop we wouldn’t have been able to see the White House, as Lafayette Square was closed off. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
I had lunch on the 9th floor where restaurant is operating nowadays, could bor ask for a better view; service was great and almost felt like personalized; and the food was very fresh and good. The Lafayette/Hay Adams has always been among my favorite restaurants/spots in the DC area, I recommend it, thank you.
The food was incredible (as was the presentation), great place for romantic evening or business lunch/dinner. Great view of the White House and monuments. Superb service.
The service on a scale 1 to 5 was a 10! The place is beyond beautiful and it feels very powerful to be “looking down” at the white house. Magical view! ❤️
The food is excellent. Great ambiance. Great experience. We had dinner and lunch. We’ll be back next time we’re in DC!
Celebrate engagement
First time eating at Lafayette since they reopened. Such a great dining space on the rooftop. Not crowded so we felt very safe. As always, top tier service, spectacular food and satisfying drinks. You continue to impress.
Extraordinary service by a professional wait staff and hostess.
Terrific setting.
I expected to be on the ninth floor, however, I was placed in lobby dining area on my anniversary. Very limited menu due to the pandemic. I left before ordering, however, my waiter was very friendly and the drinks we ordered were pretty good.
My wife and i were there for dinner and had a great time. The view of the white house and monument is great and the waiter was excellent. The entree portion was small but very good. The desert was very good, recommend the chocolate souffle
We went for breakfast right after our self-officiated wedding in front of the US Supreme Court. The food was very good and the presentation first class. The wait staff was definitely the most professional and genuinely nice. They also respected social distancing guidelines which made us feel good. The birds-eye view of DC was a unique experience. I would highly recommend The Lafayette as an upscale place to dine.
Very elegant and classy Birthday Dinner
