Food and service was fab!! My mother and I really enjoyed our courses. The staff very attentive even when rushed off their feet.
My mum had heard how good the rigatoni al forno was and when we arrived it wasn’t on the pre theatre menu and so she asked if it was possible to have it and the chefs did it for her which was very appreciated!! I had prawns to start and the only criticism I would have is it being served with a morning roll?! No butter with it either. Thought it was quite odd to have prawns and a morning roll together! My main of salmon was delicious and so was the chocolate brownie!!! Would highly recommend.
We arrived just before 5pm for our meal with our friends. The restaurant was obviously busy but there was no one at desk there were several couples waiting eventually I went to bar to ask when eventually a young lad asked could he help I said we had booking for 5pm gave my name he went upstairs and came back saying he didn’t have our name and asked if it was definitely booked he told us to go to diner round back and upstairs meanwhile I had managed to find my phone and went back to show him our booking we were eventually taken upstairs The restaurant was busy but we were delighted to get a booth We were given the pre theatre menu service was good Our starters came ours was ok our friends said meatballs were delicious Dinner was ok though my husbands lasagne wasn’t particularly big and was burnt around edges mine was risotto which was lovely our friends said there’s was fine they had Salmon Coffees came pretty quickly and were informed that sweets were running a bit behind which was ok It was nice to have been told that Obviously it was a concert night and busy .
Food was good atmosphere good, service however was absolutely terrible. Not once were we asked if we’d like drink refills, we had to constantly ask staff for things like menus, the bill and had to ask 3 times for someone to take payment.
Overall very good but customer service should always come first regardless of how busy the establishment is
On arrival the room was very smoky from food being cooked, fortunately we were sat next to a window which we could open. Food was ok for the price, wine not so good. We would not return due to the smell which left our clothes smelly
We went to the restaurant before a concert. We booked ahead, and were shown to our seat, with menus. The service was good, and the staff all friendly. The food was good and filling. The only downside we saw were the ladies toilets, which need to be improved. Overall, we would definitely go back again.
Delicious food and fab cocktails. Great way to start the evening before event.
Busy Saturday night but excellent food & service
food amazing as always, service really good (although our waitress didn't know what martini rossi was) we weren't rushed to eat and out the door even though it was really busy. love this place
Bit disappointed we had been there a year ago before another concert and meal was really nice. This time restaurant has moved upstairs not as nice an atmosphere. Food was okay but my husband really disliked the pizza very greasy cheese. Hoping this was just a bad night as had really enjoyed the meal the year before.
Very tasty meal in excellent location close to the river and hotels. We had the pasta dishes which were both excellent and service was very prompt.
Made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped in the door. Our booking was late afternoon so this would explain why the restaurant was quiet but expect if busier there would be a good atmosphere in the place. Very helpful waiting staff and decent dinner for the cost.
Excellent lunch and terrific personalized service. Very good value lunch menu
Fast service. Good food. We ordered arancini for starters then 5 mins later told it wasn't available. So opted for garlic bread which was nice but just set a mood for rest of night..
We had a lovely meal at Rotunda. The food was lovely we really enjoyed every course. The waitress was nice polite friendly. The service was quick but the restaurant was quiet. .
Meh. Food pricey for what was on offer. Stressed appearing staff.
Nice house rose.
Monopoly on location.
£20 for a starter with 5 prawns and a pizza it's very expensive. With the starter, which was prawns with garlic sauce we got a white roll, not fresh, one of those you get in a supermarket in pack of 12. For an Italian restaurant I would have expected a focaccia instead!
Have eaten several times but sadly this time it really disappointed. The pre theatre menu is very basic and didn’t offer any value. Ordered lasagne, when it arrived there was no meat or sauce between the pasta. Sent it back and was offered bolognese which when it arrived looked like it had been nuked. By the time it cooked enough to eat it the pasta was brick hard.
Also you got a real feeling of being rushed which also added to the disappointment.
Great food and service, we will definitely be back.
Restaurant was very, very busy yet the service was exemplary and the food was good. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Well done to all on duty on the evening of our visit (4 July)
Booked before a concert so the place was extremely busy and very noisy. However, the staff were all very friendly and the service was good. How the kitchen staff cope with such a demand is amazing, they obviously have it down to a fine art and deserve the highest praise, as even with so many people, the food was excellent.
Food was good the service was brilliant will be back again
Had a fabulous pre concert meal there and the service and food were just great. Better than my expectations!
Very little vegetarian options, especially on the pre concert menu.
pleasant well worth the money good service . would go back.
Service and food excellent. Black pudding pizza a new and very tasty experience 👍
We were really dubious of this restaurant as the reviews are so mixed on here. We were staying at the Radisson Red next door and travelling with a child so didn’t want to travel far for dinner. Arrived early and shown to table quickly. Waitresses all very pleasant and helpful. Mum is coeliac so trying to find somewhere that accommodates this is difficult – not here, it wasn’t an issue at all. I hate pate for starter which was lovely and mum had the garlic prawns, the “normal” one comes with a roll but the GF doesn’t, I really think a few GF rolls would be good to have in stock to put on the side as really its just 4 prawns in some sauce (albeit delicious). My daughter had meatballs and the best garlic bread I’ve tasted in a long time. For mains we both had the creamy mushroom and chicken penne. The portion was massive, well worth the price – it tasted fab! My daughter had the children’s pizza, which again was lovely however maybe look into getting a slightly less spicy pepperoni for the children’s menu as it was really quite spicy. I had tiramisu for dessert and it was one of the best I’ve ever had – it is my favourite dessert so I’ve eaten it many times! Daughter had a lovely ice cream tub. The only negative about this place is the cocktails. The menu looked good and was reasonably priced for Glasgow. However they were presented in a standard tall tumbler with a straw plonked in it , both drinks were different but look identical and both tasted cheap. The spirits didn’t taste of quality at all. Given how popular cocktails are, I don’t think being served a proper cocktail glass is too much to ask. We would return for sure if back in the area.
The webpage reflects old menus and prices which we based out visit on. We asked the staff on arrival the time the comedy club finished to order taxis. Advised 22.30 so ordered taxis for that time to discover that when the headline act started. Poor
I had organised a surprise family dinner as my partner and I live in Dubai. The waitress who served us all night was absolutely amazing. She was aware of the surprise and helped us make it go as smoothly as possible.
Thank you so much for making this night perfect. The food was outstanding as usual.
Quick and efficient, friendly service. Reasonable choice of food for a pre-theatre menu. Good food. Pretty noisy when it's really busy and a bit difficult to talk but it wouldn't put me off going again.
Great meal ahead of the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. Music was a little too loud to be able to converse...but great music...usually of the band playing at the SECC that night!
As always we booked La Rotunda pre-concert meal. Was busy, however, the staff done their best to keep us happy. We had to remind them on our puddings, but I wouldn't hold that against them as by this time the restaurant was extremely busy.
Our second visit to the SEC and La Rotunda and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and good service, competitively priced
Great atmosphere, service & food.
I am on crutches just now & on arrival the greater changed our table so I didn’t need to go up any stairs.
Very warm welcome was experienced. Our pre theatre dinner was booked prior to a concert by il Divo so we expected a busy occasion. After the 6 pm hiatus the restaurant did quieten down and service became more engaging.
Lovely meal and good selection to choose from for the pre show menu
I couldn’t believe how well organised everything was. Considering the amount of people that were there and were coming in I thought that we would have had to wait quite some time but we were shown to a table immediately and started being served within minutes. The staff and the food were excellent, the buzz around the place was great. Only drawback? A wee bit too loud for us auld yins. Thank you.
I have previously had excellent meals here however this was a different experience. Had to ask for our main course 45 minutes after the starter plates were removed. One meal was cold and had to be sent back. When it came again it was on a chipped plate!
The food was good when we got it but attention was not there.
Great service and lovely food -just what we needed before heading to a concert.
Fantastic meal one of the best Italian meals I have had.
First time and certainly won't be the last. Food was delicious and the service was first class
