La Pulperia 46th Street
La Pulperia’s “cockteleria”, has created an agave-centered list of cocktails that also offers plentiful opportunities to savor Latin spirits such as mezcal, pisco, rum, or cachaca. Sunday brunch Drag Queen Show.
We went after Theater, friendly people and excellent food!
Highly recommended for something a bit different!
It was so much fun. The drag show was great
Returned to La Pulperia for a delicious dinner. Fine food and service. The guacamole appetizer was a bit small compared to other restaurants. Very good choice for a pretheater dinner or later when the crowd is smaller.
Grilled fish dishes well executed and seasoned just right. Ample portions. Very friendly service.
Fun place with great service and interesting food and cocktails - highly recommend for pre or post theater dinner
Great restaurant! Black pasta was amazing!
I had the opportunity to dine here 2 years ago with a business client. The food and service made an impression on me at that time, so I was waiting for an opportunity to return. A friend and I were meeting for dinner, and La Pulperia immediately came to mind. My friend had never been in before, so it was great to introduce someone else to an enjoyable culinary experience.
We loved everything. The Lobster Taquitos were the perfect starter, along with our delicious cocktails. The Chef Specials were in line with our original ideas from the menu, and our server made it easy for us to make our final decisions. The lighting and noise levels provided a great atmosphere for dinner conversation without feeling too crowded, or straining to hear each other.
The service was prompt, as our food came out at a reasonable time. The presentation was picture perfect, but the flavors and portions were well worth the money we spent. I will be going back again!
The chef at this restaurant is a sauce wizard! The flavors were amazing, innovative and colorful. One of the specials during our visit was a spicy watermelon margarita, because I am expecting, the restaurant was very accommodating in making mocktail version of that specific cocktail...one of the best mocktails I've had. The octopus from the raw bar menu is a must-try. My only complaint was that our entree took quite some time to be served, but everything else came in a very timely manner.
I will return.. strongly recommended
VERY friendly staff, fantastic and truly Latin American food
Loved the food at this small crowded restaurant near theatre district. Lots of menu choices & specials.
The fish was fresh, well cooked & delicious
Great cocktails & friendly staff
Very good and special gastronomy, fusion between south and US
The food was excellent but as I read in the reviews, it is a limited menu. However, that said, whatever we ate was delicious!
FUN FUN FUN
Service was fast. Bottomless mimosas were delicious and the show even better!
Amazing Latin American seafood restaurant. Cannot go wrong
We enjoyed many great appetizers and inventive drinks prior to a theater engagement. Others on this famed dining block are noisy and a poor value. La Pulperia is tucked away toward 9th Avenue but shouldn’t be overlooked.
They heard my order wrong even though the rest of my table heard me say tostada (I was brought a kale salad). After that, rather than rushing and fixing their mistake I sat for over an hour waiting for my food. That was really disappointing
Fabulous! Excellent food. Attentive service. Exotic and inventive food. Delicious drinks. Highly recommend.
We went here before seeing Hamilton (theater is very nearby) and both the food and cocktails were excellent. Service was friendly, helpful, fast. I’d definitely recommend to a friend.
Great place , amazing service and very delicious food
One of our favorite restaurants in New York. Our server, Liz is a superstar. We literally sit down and let’s her order whatever she thinks we should try. She hasn’t sent us a bad dish yet. The food is excellent and the drinks are strong. The real star is Liz. People like her make dining out a pleasure.
Happy hour oysters were great. Tasty and priced right. Fish ribs that everyone brags about were just alright. Octapus was pretty good. A tiny desert for $12 was K. I also find it amazing, that what they charge you on the bill and what the price on the menu are not the same. Yes, it's $3 or $4 difference, which most people will not complain about, and I didn't either. But it leaves sour taste in my mouth.
Quiet little downstairs place, interesting menu options, but a lovely experience.
The venue is very cosy, I almost missed the entrance. However, once inside we were greeted by warm and attentive staff. The food was well seasoned and very delicious and not very expensive Highly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic food and service. Limited menu with specials which were very unique. Highly recommend.
Great food, warm comfortable atmosphere. Barbecued fish ribs were delicious and unique. They were very accommodating when we needed to arrive earlier than expected for our reservation.
We were a party of three and everyone was very happy with their meal. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. We ordered a sample platter of three ceviche dishes which were a perfect start to the meal and ended with the flan. The grilled fish and octopus entrees were well prepared, tasty and filling. I wish our visit to NYC had been longer so we could have eaten at La Pulperia again.
Such a nice place!!! Great service and delicious food.
Great ambiance, excellent wait staff. The food was good, but I ordered the Mista, and it was one of the smallest plates I've had at a restaurant. And the 5$ apiece shrimp should be 10/12 size not 16/20. Overall my date and I did enjoy our pre show dinner.
Good food, but way too loud.
Don't be deceived by the exterior. The fish ribs - a house special - were one of the most unique dishes I've ever enjoyed. The spicy cocktails are also excellent.
It might not be the best place for a first date (where a bit more space and less noise help) but great for a second date or a meal before a show.
Our hotel recommended this restaurant. The menu is small, like the restaurant, but what they do, they do well. My husband had the fish ribs, a house specialty and I had grilled octopus. The bartender made a great pisco sour, transporting us back to Lima! They alone are worth a second visit, as was the marscapone flan for dessert. Staff were very good.
Food was excellent. We will definitely go back.
What an amazing surprise! The restaurant is small, cozy and intimate. We arrived early for dinner so it was not at all crowded, and we were able to receive ver concerned service. The food was amazing and creative. I ordered the monkfish. It was wrapped in Serrano ham , baked, placed upon a bed of carrot purée which in turn was on a spicy arugula puree. The combination of flavors was unexpected and amazing... the slight salty ness of the ham, sweetness of carrots and finally the peppery spice of the arugula! A masterpiece! My compliments to the chef. My husband had the black spaghetti with seafood in a spicy sauce that was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended! We will certainly return.
Terrific food. That's the high point. Service is good. But this is a neighborhood joint devoid of atmosphere or charm and it's noisier than LaGuardia. If I'm in the area I might come back at an off hour when you can hear yourself think. It's a shame because the food prep and presentation deserve a better "wrapper."
Definatley not worth the Price but our meals were decent. My steak was a bit tough but very well cooked (asked for Medium). Oysters were very fresh and the grilled octopus special was delicious! The burgers were on point too!
My cheese empanadas were not cooked 100% and being told thats how they were suppose to be was a little annoying - considering the dough was raw and the filling was cold. They did bring out another complimentary order that was cooked better, after they saw I didn’t eat mine - but they should have done that from the beginning.
Overall would go back for a date night of just drinks and appetizers because the ambiance is good and romantic. For dinner, very over priced.
I went to dinner with several out of town guests. The service staff was very attentive and accomodating, especially the management. Cocktails were excellent and the food was delivious. The restaurant is small but comfortable. I would be happy to return.
Had high expectations about this place, but it ended up being a Tourist trap. It has an overpriced menu.
