Unfortunately the night we came they must have been short staffed? Service was almost non existent. Took over an hour to get waiter to come take our order.
The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Agron and Driola Kaloshi have created a gem of a restaurant in every way!
Our party of six had an excellent dinner experience at La Pergola. We felt safely seated indoors with plenty of space between tables. Outdoor seating was also offered as an option. We were pleased with the salads, fish entrees, as well as the desserts. The pacing was leisurely and the service was skilled and friendly. We will be back.
The food is very good and it reflects it in the cost (which I’m fine with). My issue is it’s very very slow, the staff is very nice and professional but it just takes too long for food to arrive. They need more staff.
We've always enjoyed going to La Pergola but they clearly have not adapted well to operating during Covid. We made our reservation to sit outside on a nice Saturday night. The outdoor area is very nice but the problem is they probably have 20-30 tables outside (if not more) but it seemed they only had two persons (owner and a waiter) and a couple busboys to handle all of those tables some of which are far away from the kitchen. The waiter and busboys were all working very hard and doing the best they could but it was clear they were understaffed. We were seated a bit late (no big deal) and since it was a nice night we were in no rush but after our initial order was taken no one ever came back to our table to check on us or even pour us water (good thing we had brought wine and had something to drink). Since we had one of the distant outdoor tables we had to get up to find someone if we needed something like a place setting or our check. Tables all around us also had the same issues. Some were vocal in complaining and some just left after being seated when no one showed up to give them menus or take their orders. I know it's difficult for restaurants during these times and when our food finally came it was still very good but I would just request that they pay a little more attention to service or clients may just be turned off going back again.
They need more servers. There seemed to be one person for the entire restaurant. Service was terrible. And they should also advice on their site that they have a limited menu or there is a menu change.
Had the evening ended the way it began, this would have been a 5 star review. The garden setting on a pleasant April night combined with excellent Italian cuisine would certainly bring us back. However, as the later diners arrived, it was clear that the restaurant was woefully understaffed. We waited more than 45 minutes to settle our bill and that was only after chasing down our waiter. He was sure working hard and it was not his fault that he did not have any support.
We have been to La Pergola many times pre-pandemic. Food and service was always spot on. Tonight however, the service was fair. The restaurant has provided a lovely outdoor experience with tables adequately spaced out and plenty of space heaters to keep customers safe and warm. Perhaps the spacing and size of the outdoor space is the problem. There is a long walk to the back tables from the kitchen which makes service slow. I understand that it is covid and believe me, I am happy to dine out again in safety, but the management needs to either hire more wait staff or reduce the number of outdoor tables. This being said, our waiter, while overworked, was still pleasant and accommodating. Not so much can be said about exchanges we overheard from diners at adjacent tables.
Food was delicious, outdoor ambiance was festive snd fun!
The garden was very nice. Food was high quality. Service was good.
This is our ‘go to’ for a lovely outdoor dinner. We are welcomed as old friends into the peaceful outdoor garden. Food is wonderful, with a variety of specials that always make it seem new and fresh. Staff is professional and responsive. Highly recommend!
The food and dining experience is always the best! They have created the most lovely, quiet outdoor dining area too
The food and courtyard dinning are always enjoyable.
True Italian cuisine.
Very long delay to get the food, with little follow up. Good food, but a bit overpriced.
The staff did not acknowledge our presence and the manager seemed annoyed when we he finally came over to speak with us.
Long wait, 30 minutes past reservation. 15 minutes in we were told we were to be seated at a window table and then another couple came in and they sat us elsewhere and gave the window seat to the other party. It was just poor form. Certainly made us feel 2nd class.
I have been dining here many times for years. Unfortunately prices continue to rise and the quality of the meals do not match the price increase
Always a great meal; terrific staff and the owners always majestic us feel at home!
Very consistent and always enjoyable.
Birthday celebration
Food is consistently good. Service always very good. However, prices have become a bit high.
Wonderful experience, great food and service.
Quiet place with excellent food!
We will definitely go back when in the neighborhood!
Last night we went to Pergola in Millburn for a birthday dinner. Everything was outstanding. We ate in their outdoor space which is spacious and well heated with portable heaters and some some vented “pipes.” The staff really hustled which was really important and evident when all the food came to the table piping hot. BYO policy helps with the cost, but it is not inexpensive. Given the quality of food it is still a good value. Great choice of fish and seafood dishes. The octopus “tartare” was incredible and the stuffed artichoke appetizer was pure old comfort food. The swordfish with capers and the soft shell crab over tagliatelle entrees were excellent. For the carnivore there are pork, chicken and beef options!
Restaurant doesn’t abide my COVID rules. Very uncomfortable. Approached manager and said you chose to come here
It was wonderful, service, food and friendliness of the owner.
This place generally has great food, however the service is terrible. We waited over an hour to order and then an additional time to get our food. The table seated 30mins after we sat down had gotten their appetizers/food well before we did and we hard ordered before them. The service was atrocious and I would not recommend going here if you want a nice evening out.
Excellent service and high quality food - a great dining experience
Service is excellent and the food is delicious! The menu selection is wonderful, every meal is fresh and savory!
Always a great experience. Driola, Agra and the entire team treat us like fa
Great food! Recommend the chicken park with their fradiavolo sauce :)
Loved the food and ambience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for excellent food and good vibes.
FREEZING OUTDOOR DINING HAS INEFFECTIVE HEAT and the TABLES UNDER THE TENTS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER.
This was our first time back since dining outside there in the summer. We were first seated under a partially-open tent. Unfortunately, several minutes later, a group of enthusiastic diners were seated next to us. Because the tables were too close together, the seated diners were only about 3 feet away. I found that situation to be covid-unsafe and we requested to move. We were then seated at a table in the open garden area that had one ineffective pyramid/column-style heater nearby. The outdoor seating also had metal chairs which further added to the reduction of our body temperatures. Our food (which tasted good) arrived and we ate with metal forks that were super cold. The cold utensils and the lack of ambient heat quickly cooled down our entrees. We asked for another heater and the attentive wait staff brought another column heater over - but these types of heaters never work as well as the hat-top style heaters. Sadly, we were absolutely MISERABLE. Even though we had no drinks (BYOB) or dessert, our bill for 2 was a cold $150. Too bad - it’s a nice setting but they need to spread the tables under the tents further apart, get a bunch more hat-top style heaters, and either get plastic chairs or put some simple cushions on their metal chairs.
The service was horrible and the food was basic. I would never come back here. What a joke.
Love this place and the food was amazing!
This is our second time visiting La Pergola, and the first experience is why we came back. The food is absolutely delicious and not overwhelming. It leaves you just enough space for dessert! Presentation was lovely and the Host/Owner?, was very engaging and truly pleasant while welcoming us and later visiting tables. We will be back again!
Everything was great we loved it can’t wait to go back again
First time at The Pergola with my husband on our date night. Service was great! It was on a Thursday so it wasn’t crowded at all. Food was good and ambiance very nice. Definitely going back!
The food is always great but the service is impeccable. The manager & the servers try so hard to make sure everyone is comfortable/warm adjusting heaters constantly for our demanding group with a smile. Very accommodating and made sure we enjoyed our meal & time there. A+ for effort !!
Lovely evening all round star of the evening was the food
