La Parma II
We visited La Parma II during restaurant week. Our reservation was for 5:45 on a Saturday evening; most of our party was there by 5:30. We were a party of 12, with a last minute add-on. The set up La Parma chose was questionable. This restaurant is rather small, and comes highly referred, so I’m sure they experience high volume on a weekend evening. Our server did not give us the restaurant week menus until we had to ask for them. He did not seem to happy about this. We ordered our appetizers rather quickly, as to get the ball rolling on dinner. Our appetizers did not come out until one of our guests had to ask for them - they did not come out until 6:45. One of our guests apps had been forgotten, and came out several minutes later. Our main courses did not come out until 7:30, when many of us were looking around for our server. I believe we saw him a total of 3 or 4 times that night. He kept repeatedly telling us that it was very busy, and he was not sure if he would be able to complete certain requests for us. We felt this was unacceptable. Our table was directly next to the front door and the bar. Our party was either cold or being bumped into for the better part of the evening.
Another party was placed next to us, and seemed to have their appetizers writhing 10 minutes of them sitting down.
The saving grace of the evening was the manager (or whom I
thought was the manager). One of our members did not enjoy her shrimp dish, and felt sick upon eating it. This was brought to one of the server’s attention. The manager came over and very politely spoke to our member. He sent us home with a tray of penne alla vodka, and it was greatly appreciated.
Overall, the service was sub-par, the food was okay, and the atmosphere was poor.
I think we were here on an off night. The restaurant was packed and it has been around awhile. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. While the service was good, my stuffed mushrooms were small, the breadcrumbs were burnt, and the sauce was watery. My shrimp was overcooked, the mozzarella cheese on top was a little burnt, and it was just mediocre. I had the cannoli for dessert. The filling was average at best. My husbands salad was good, his eggplant parm was good, and his chocolate mousse cake was also good, but nothing to brag about, and but my meal was very disappointing.
Went for restaurant week and had mediocre food and terribly small portions. Dirty martini cost $16.25. Not even good. Will never go Back! Too many good restaurants on long island.
We have been coming here for 20 years. The food is always amazing. It is our favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island.
Ate in La Parma’s on. Saturday night which was a mistake. The service was subpar, quality of food not as good as it was a month ago when we ate there on a Sunday
My favorite place to eat. The manager Vinny is the greatest
He treats you like family and the staff is amazing. The food is always great and the place is always clean. I would like it 10 stars if I could. Love this place!!!!!!!
Great food. Great service. We really love dining here.
Great food. Just the right amount!!! Perfect for dinner on
Sunday night with friends!!!
Server was a little slow at first but things did eventually pick up. Food was delicious!!
It was not my idea to eat here but a suggestion by an out of town friend who was dining with us. I was very surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. This restaurant has been around forever but is obviously going down hill. The shrimp was awful. The chicken was thick and the sauce had no taste. The portions were skimpy. The waiter was a bit arrogant and impatient. He would not make anything special order and the restaurant was empty. Why would anyone eat here when there are so many great Italian restaurants in the area? I really don’t know. I’m sticking with Chris and Tony’s from now on!
Always wonderful food and friendly service. We drive 40 plus miles to go to dinner here. It’s our favorite restaurant
Waiter never came back to check on us, seemed annoyed that we were dining there. Never asked how food was at any course, first time here. Won't be back. Food was good but experience tainted by staff
authentic family style Italian restaurant. Quality of food was excellent, service was superb.
Always the best!! Great food great service never disappointed. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t love.
As always, food was very good. Only issue I had was that the table for 4 is very small and bakes family style service a little difficult
Awesome!! It was great!!
I missed this place since I moved away. The food is a great as I remembered and it’s still fun to eat family style. I am so glad I setup a special birthday celebration here.
Our all time favorite restaurant! Absolutely love it. We've also had house parties catered by La Parma and it's always a hit!
Going away party
Always on point.
Simply put..... You can’t get any better!!
This restaurant had great Italian food. It was abundant and served in family style. The service was spectacular. Even though it was family style, they plated the food for each of us according to what we wanted. Hoping to return on my next visit to the area.
Very nice waiter. We were disappointed in the portion sizes. Family style should have served two people. We had to complain and only after much conversation with the manager, did he bring us another portion. We’ve gone to many family style restaurants but this is the first time we had this issue. We’ve gone to La Parma in Oceanside and we were very satisfied there.
This was the first time we dined at La Parma II. Our waiter was excellent and our food was delicious.
Since it is family style, the more friends and/or family you bring, the better off you will be. We ordered 3 entrees and took enough home for two of us to have dinner the next night.
If I had a do-over I would probably recommend ordering a salad before dinner. It would add a little more time to the experience. We ordered stuffed shells, chicken parmigiana and penne ala vodka for the table and finished about 2/3 of the food within an hour and ten minutes. It was a quick dinner but the restaurant certainly didn't rush us and took the time to cook our entrees to near perfection.
We will definitely return in the near future. There are many menu options to choose from and, if by chance you order too much, you have a great leftover meal (or two) to enjoy.
Top notch service and the food is always exceptional. We have been going to La Parma for many years and will continue to because of the quality and care taken by the owner and staff.
Very solid place. Family style done very well.
From start to finish pure excellence. Had a party of 12 from age 7-59 and everyone was happy because the food and staff were great. Will always return
Our go to restaurant for 30 years. Still love it!
Always a wonderful dining experience! Great food and great service!
Amazing. Food & service was spectacular
Consistently consistent. Old school family style Italian. Good never disappoints.
Not worth the money. End up go some where else to eat.
Consistent staple for good Italian food in the neighborhood. Prices have gone up substantially making this just an okay choice. For the money there is better.
Outstanding on every front. Garlic galore in the pasta dish. Yum!
Always consistent and great food and service
Best linguini white clam sauce
Always our favorite
fabulous on all levels!
Our favorite family dining experience
