La Mirabelle
This is one of the best family owned French restaurants in Manhattan. Patrons are loyal for decades ... and for good reasons.
The food was mediocre at best. The pate was too salty and tasteless. The duck was excellent, but very overpriced. The menu very limited.
Classic French restaurant, great food and charming service in delightful setting. We had chosen to dine early as two guest were elderly with hearing difficulties. Between 5 and 6 on a Saturday, we were very comfortable; then, business and noise picked up and by 7 we were certainly ready to leave.
Unexpected pleasure of a rendering of "happy birthday" by one of the staff: thank you!
Have lived on the UWS for 15 years and was always curious about Mirabelle but had never gone. Very glad we did! An absolutely first rate French bistro, with a classic menu, beautifully executed. Service was prompt and attentive without being obtrusive. We will come back.
Great unpretentious but cozy neighborhood classic. Traditional French dishes. Perfect for low key date night.
Seems that something has changed at this restaurant. Perhaps a new chef. Whatever change has taken place it’s not for the better.
An old, old favorite. The manhattans were, indeed, perfect, and I'd been missing sweetbreads, done to a T. The suggestion to get the lamb stew was spot on. Well done, old friend.
Incredible always. It had been too long since our last visit but we don’t get to NYC as often as we used to. But La Mirabelle is always a must! Naomi is a superb server!Terrific food, ambiance, service, & value. Will always return and recommend!
La Mirabelle is classic French bistro. I have been there several times and the food and service is very consistent- always very good. The food is very good bistro fare- nothing nouvelle here. But they have all the bistro classics- steak frites, rack of lamb, kidneys, sweetbreads and more familiar fare, too. Portions are large by French restaurant standards. Service is excellent. They know what they are doing in both the dining room and the kitchen.
This is not a cheap dinner out, but then it is not a cheap dinner. But you certainly get your money’s worth at La Mirabelle.
Valentine’s Day
We loved the meal but the staff seemed overwhelmed and the wait times between sitting down and getting drinks was too long as was the wait for each course and dessert.
No nos gusto no saber que era Prix Fixe. Lo tienen q avisar. Ibamos por su excelente Dover Sole y el foie gras y no los había en el menu. No nos gusto la cena!
Food was amazing and service as well only was disappointed with the creme brûlée. Would come back
Food and service were exceptional. We were the last customers & still no one rushed us to leave. Just superb all around. This has become an annual stop for us when we’re in NY.
A classic. Always very good.
Only restaurant in NYC that we've found with both veal kidneys and sweetbreads on the menu!
Have been going for years- always enjoyable-
Great French bistro in Manhattan. Informal, nice atmosphere and first rate food. One of the few places one can have broiled kidney nowadays and here, it is excellent.
Great spot. Delicious food, professional yet friendly service.
We are locals, were introduced to this restaurant several years ago and its one of our favorites.
Food was overcooked, ordered fish
We requested a quieter table and were provided a table upstairs that overlooked to main seating area and found it quieter than downstairs.
Great service, food and menu choices, and, overall, a delightful evening.
Will definitely recommend La Mirabelle!!
Small, intimate restaurant, not noisy at all, looked like a lot of repeat neighborhood clientele dining there, which is a great sign of consistent service and food quality. Typical pricing for NYC, nice menu selection with a few specials, excellent food preparation, and very attentive service. Definitely will return, and will recommend to friends.
Always good. The perfect neighborhood French place.
Although we live close by we had never been, we’ll be going a lot more often. You might not even notice it walking by but you should stop in. We had a really nice table for 2 and there is a real nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and helped us with our dinner choices. I had the French onion soup and mussels and both were delicious. Overall, a very enjoyable evening out.
Food was very good, but waited (literally) 10 minutes to get the check after we had clearly finished.
Finally, a restaurant that recalls what dining is all about. Food that you do not cook at home (like sweetbreads, kidneys, etc), good wine at a very reasonable markup, white tablecloths, solicitous service, and a soothing and quiet ambiance.
In other words, a restaurant that doesn’t try to be a bar.
Always terrific! Traditional French cooking, wonderful selections of classic dishes and wam service - unreservedly recommended!
I always feel like I have gone back to Paris in a different era, when we go to La Mirabelle.
Other couples whom we have brought there, always become repeat customers. The
food is delicious, from duck to seafood to the steak. Seems like mostly a neighborhood
crowd - not at all a tourist trap, but we regularly drive down from Westchester, and it
is well worth the drive!
Great filet of sole and wonderful server!
Forgetful servers. Not very welcoming
Most authentic French food in NYC
This restaurant never fails to please. The wait staff is polite and attentive. I was part of a party of 7 and everyone was pleased with their meal. In addition to very good food and service, the surroundings are such that conversation is not an effort because the sound level is quiet. All in all a lovely place to dine.
Lovely neighborhood gem serving French bistro type food. Service was excellent, not hurried but attentive and the food (especially dessert!) was outstanding. We live about 20 blocks away, but will definitely return!
Classic, carefully prepared and delicious French food. Wonderful for special occasions, making one grateful to be living in the UWS in Manhattan!
Very nice restaurant, good food, excellent service and the singingenjoyable.
Pleasant, traditional French restaurant -- perfect for us older people who hate noisy restaurants. Classic fare, very well prepared.
Second time at this place. Couldn't have been happier with everything.
Great spot. I loved the ambiance. Perfect everyday dining. Wonderful staff. Loved the singing waitress, Danielle. Food was good as it gets. Best value I have had in NYC.
One of our absolute favorites, a neighborhood gem! The family business atmosphere is so lovely, so focused on customer service and great quality French bistro cuisine.
