Excellent drinks and food! Service is wonderful!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!
Fantastic food- fresh and large serving- Tony is the best waiter- love this place
I work around the corner and go here frequently. You cannot get better Italian food anywhere. The staff is friendly and we had an inexpensive bottle of wine that was excellent. The waiter will recommend it to you. Italian red.
Have dined here many times! The food never fails to impress. Very fresh and well prepared. Angelo puts much love and skill into every item on the menu.
Came here for New Year’s Eve dinner, first off they had limited menu which was disappointing. My boyfriend didn’t care for anything on this menu. I had lobster ravioli which tasted rather fishy and came out look warm. My bf had a chicken dish with red peppers and cheese. There was big piece of pepper on top of chicken. Not very appetizing. The chicken was a breaded but was mushy and very tough. His dish was disgusting. The decor needs serious updating. Looks rather dated and dingy. Only saving grace was the service. We had a sweet older gentleman. Very disappointing New Year’s Eve dinner
Food was delicious service excellent. Made us feel like family.
We went for Christmas Eve and they only had a special limited menu on offer, so I can't be sure how the food normally is. That was disappointing, since we had all reviewed the menu online ahead of time and picked our favorite entrees--none of which was actually available. It would have been nice to be contacted in advance about the limited menu, so we would have been prepared. It's never good to start off a meal already disappointed before you've even taken a bite!
The service was very good (though we felt a bit rushed, considering how many empty tables were in the restaurant), but the food was just so-so. One person had fish that they said tasted very fishy, so much so that they were concerned they might be sick the next day. Another had ravioli that tasted store-bought/frozen, and one of the ravioli had a big finger hole in it, where someone in the kitchen must have checked the temperature. The others had chicken or pork dishes that they described as "better than they look, thank God", but not especially tasty.
I imagine we'd have had a better experience on a regular night, rather than a holiday, when they're trying to rush people out to accommodate later reservations.
It was awesome as always
Always excellent service and food.
Terrific as usual. Service and food excellent!!
LOVE this off the beaten path restaurant! It’s a real throwback to when you would walk into a place and immediately feel like you’re home.
Used to like this place. Last 2 times here service was terrible. They seem understaffed. Won’t be back.
Great food and service!!! We’ve gotten to know everyone.
Excellent service and delicious food.
Amazing as always!
Waited 40 minutes to give a drink order another 15 minutes to place dinner order.
Great food and staff very friendly. Date night or out with friends.
My husband and I went out for a celebration dinner. The food was outstanding as well as the service. We would definitely dine there again and bring our friends.
My family and I loved LaCampaagnola! The restaurant is very modest in its' ambiance but very, very good in the food that it serves and the service that attends it. I would recommend it to people who really enjoy excellent food cooked in an authentic Italian way and the pleasant atmosphere of a wonderful little gem of a restaurant in the industrial section of Kenilworth.
Excellent food and experience
Excellent food and service!
Everything was very good. The service was helpful and friendly. There was enough time between receiving our salad and then entrees. The veal I had was tender and flavorful. Mixed seafood dinner my husband had was also very good with salmon, clams, stuffed shrimp! To top things off he had tiramisu which was so light. We will return again.
Excellent all around - at a Southern Italian restaurant the quality of the sauce matters a lot and their marinara is outstanding. Appetizers were excellent (mozzarella en carozza, shrimp in a spicy marinara, and a fig special. Entrees (meat tortolloni in a rose sauce, chicken parm, and "chicken Campagnola" - breaded cutlets with sauteed peppers in a cream sauce) were equally good, and I liked the salad dressing. Will definitely be returning!
Awesome food. Chef/Owner is fantastic. This place never disappoints!
Delicious food, friendly atmosphere. Even though we had a reservation, the staff looked shocked that we appeared. There must have been a private party there, because the staff seemed stressed and our meal came out very slowly, but was accurate and tasty. Our server was friendly and accommodating.
Excellent food, always reliable for a nice dinner
Very good service extremely knowledgeable and accommodating staff. You should ask for Tony. What an entertaining guy!
Best Italian food ever
It was a different experience. There is only one waiter that tells you the specials therefore you may wait a very long time. We had multiple servers and they all appeared to be confused on their roles and responsibilities. My meal off the menu was great but my husband's special was overpriced and tasteless.
We had a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday night. The dining room was not full, yet we were told the kitchen was extremely busy. We wanted to get the appetizer order in while we decided on entrees but it was suggested to put everything in at once.
We had 4 people come to our table to serve us which made it very confusing. One person took our drink order, another told us about the specials, another kept asking if we were ready to order and another just to chat. We had no idea who our wait staff was.
Drinks were very expensive - an Old Fashioned was $16. We ordered one round and were pestered about ordering more rounds. Thankfully, we did not at that price!
Food was ok. We ordered 4 appetizers and 1 was missing. It appeared to be delivered to another table. There was a lot of confusion every time a dish came out. 1 entree we ordered was the broiled seafood platter which included clams oreganto. They tasted freezer burned and not good at all. The salmon was overcooked.
Would not recommend. There are other places with better quality and lower prices.
We went for a birthday. It’s a little neighborhood place, maybe not the fanciest look but the food is great and the service is excellent. Will be back!
Scialatielli dish had the smallest shrimps I have ever seen. The Pasta on the Vongole dish was overcooked. Not a great experience. Won't be coming back.
Excellent food and service!
Hadn't been back for at least a year. Still the same excellent food, always on point.
Best authentic Italian food !!
Love this place !
First time dining here and we were very pleased with food, great service, good vibe. Definitely will return
Wonderful lunch with just simply delicious - well made - Italian food! Gambled with La Campagnola based on good reviews, as it was also a half way meeting point - but well worth the risk. A truly lovey lunch and a bonus to purchase a jar of the Spirito Brothers original homemade tomato sauce! Highly recommend!
Excellent food and service! Prices are in line for a white table cloth Italian restaurant and portions are generous.
Amazing food and service! Best stuffed flounder I have ever had!
This is a quaint restaurant with absolutely the most OUTSTANDING wait staff and service! The food is
beyond description and far above the ordinary. Reserving a table was simple, the food arrived quickly and was totally amazing in flavor and in unique seasoning and ingredient combinations. I will be telling all my friends about this little known gem of a restaurant. The owner should be commended for not only the ambiance, but also for hiring such phenomenal staff for both customer service as well as creative food! Loved every minute of our time there and we will be back!!!!
