Great food and service.
Waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Our table wobbled a little and I mentioned it too her as she was delivering drinks and seemed not to notice my comment but returned a few minutes later and fixed the issue. Drinks were great. Wines were reasonably priced. Salads and Entrees were terrific. It was a very cold night outdoors and we were seated near the front door and it was very comfortable inside. A drape at the front door created a vestibule that blocked the cold outside air. Very positive experience.
This was largely, but not completely, a delightful evening. There was a short, but well-chosen cocktail list. Similarly, the wine list was well chosen. Appetizer (escargot) were delicious, as was the soup during jour. The only hiccup was the French onion soup. The cheese was over-browned and bordered on burnt. The replacement was somewhat better but still underwhelmed. Main courses were delicious. Crepes were on the thick side but very good!! Overall, just what you would expect from a better suburban restaurant during COVID, maybe even better
Great as always. The ambience was great. The food was delicious. Alyssa was very kind and helpful. My parents and I had a great time. Thank you
First time back in over 2 years. Great as always, and they were able to deal with our later than planned arrival. Eggplant app was quite nice, the Duck was as good as I remember and the Filet was also quite nice. Wine prices are up (as they are everywhere) but what we picked was also very good.
Lovely lunch fare, pleasant atmosphere. Looking forward to returning for dinner.
Sarah was a great waitress. It was a wonderful experience
La Belle Epoque is always a treat. Great service and very imaginative food.
Food French bistro-like.
Celebrating a double birthday (brother sister) first time ever visiting this restaurant was open minded and glad to find out that it exceeded my expectations. Food was excellent, service was great and we enjoyed our evening. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to try it out. I plan on returning again.
I enjoyed my meal here. The service was attentive but not intrusive, however the initial wait for service nearly managed to be too long. However they were busy so perhaps that was just a fact of post COVID life. I had French Onion soup, not overly salty like it is so often and I particularly liked the crispy bread bits in the soup. My partner had mussels and these were fine with a nice spicy red sauce. I had a hangar steak, served rare and it was just as I wanted it.It would be nice to see a French restaurant serving the sort of steak I well remember from many lunches in France. It would be thin, with a nice little puddle of juice below it with stringy pommes frites. This was great but it still made me long for the alternative. My partner had a Salade Nicoise and it made her happy. We had neither dessert of coffee. I would like to come back and eat here again.
Great first visit and definitely will be back. It’s the perfect spot for lunch and precisely the kind of cuisine one would want for daytime dining.
Not bad, but I expected more based on the ratings. The onion soup needs a lot of work, however mussels were great but served without bread. Filet cooked well and had classic setup. Trout should be served skin up so it remains crispy. The dish was a bit mushy.
High tops are wobbly and can’t be mended. That took away from the experience. A smile from the staff here and there would make for a much more hospitable evening.
Not in a hurry to come back.
We all loved the crepes. The wine possibilities were exhaustive. Our server was conscientious and affable. 3 people with drinks for $70. Hallo
This place is awesome. Excellent food, good value. Service was good enough. Will definitely be back.
We love going to a local restaurant that serves upscale food. La Belle Époque is that restaurant. The town of Media is lucky to have such a gem. Food and service were excellent; the charm during the holiday was exquisite!
This is just truly an amazing restaurant! I live in Delaware and do not come often enough I've decided. I've brought a friend from out of the area twice now and she has been impressed with the food. We both had stellar meals the other night and despite wanting to get the seafood crepes again, I instead chose the salmon from the menu and I'm so glad I did - it was truly the best salmon dish I've had anywhere, ever, and I can't stop thinking about it. The chocolate mousse was amazing too. This is just a great little place to have a wonderful meal!
Both of our poached eggs were hard and the bacon looked like it was deep fried a week ago. They can do better...
What a great experience! Great food, awesome service and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Will be back so soon.
Son/ daughter in law visit
As usual, great food and great service in the coziest restaurant in Media.
This is one of the 3 actual French bistros in the Philly area.
Excellent dining on all fronts.
We took friends who were in from Miami to this place.
They remarked that would fly back just to eat here.
La Belle Époque lived up to its reputation for excellent cuisine and charming surroundings.
Love La Belle Epoch. It's my go-to place in Media for steak frites. I will say, however, recently they have changed the sauce and the frites and was not nearly as good.
Love La Belle Epoque! Intimate, delicious, special.
Get the mussels! Ask for Wes! Abide by his suggestions, and expect a memorable dining experience.
GREAT BEET SALAD AND ONION SOUP.DUCK BREAST AND FILET MIGNON WERE DELICIOUS. SERVICE WAS WELL CO-ORDINATED. WE ARE GOING BACK!
Excellent food - we had the duck and the steak - with an attentive server. A lovely evening.
Love this place! One of my favorites. Really good food.
Nice place with an interesting menu. Really enjoyed the chocolate moose!
Great food great service great ambiance—-what more could you ask for? Thank you. Had a wonderful night. Tom
Very loud , tables r way too close together.. ( think on top of each other !! ) this is especially worrisome because of the corona virus . Wait staff not accommodating when we asked not to be so close to other patrons ..many Tables were empty and should have been used to space out the guests before putting patrons on top of each other … :) Not smart way to operate during covid times
This is one of the few places on State St. that we haven’t been to, so we thought we’d try it out for restaurant week! I’ve always heard great things about it and it did not disappoint!
We went for media Restaurant week and loved it!
It was nice. Got busy and crowded but we were finishing.
We would definitely come back. Excellent food. Quick service.
Service was superb. The servers were helpful in every way. We each had a glass of champagne, French onion soup, and Crepe Poulet, then Apple Brandy crepe for dessert. Perfect quiet dinner on a chilly, rainy, Tuesday evening.
Wonderful service, great food and great drinks at brunch. Can’t wait to come back!
Went to La Belle Epoque for Brunch with a friend. It was excellent. The service and the food! They had many interesting selections and very reasonably priced. I had the Mushroom omelette with came with a side salad and delicious roasted potatoes. My friend had his favorite, Eggs benedict, which he totally enjoyed. They were also served with roasted potatoes and asparagus. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The meal was very leisurely and service very attentive. Would highly recommend this.
I had the hanger steak and my husband had the duck. Both were delicious. Service was attentive and quick, which is impressive these days considering widespread staff shortages everywhere. We enjoy the restaurant, it's one of our favorites.
