Very fresh and delicious sushi, great service. We ordered the halibut sashimi and had to order more as it was off the charts good. We pass it daily and I thought it would be average, but I was wrong. Sure, it’s not Nobu, but it’s better than your average sushi place and the music and atmosphere is much more fun. Try the olive oil cake for dessert. Yumm! We will be back often!
Nice dining experience.
Visiting from out of town, I was looking forward to going out to a nice dinner. Ordered the salmon which was undercooked as were the brussel sprouts that were so hard I could barely eat them. My son ordered a burger which he said was pretty good, but his fries were pretty bland. The skinny margarita was good and the waiter was pleasant, but the meal itself was very disappointing...
Normally a 5 star review, but service and food were less than stellar on our last visit. I do hope this is not the start of a trend.

Always great food and service however we feel like the music is so loud you can’t talk to the people that you’re sitting with. Doesn’t stop us from going but we tried to choose seats wisely because some music is really loud. But that’s just us, where are the baby boomers

This was second time. I was a little skeptical because the first time was mmm okay I guess. I wasn’t really wowed by the food I ordered and the ribeye my husband ordered was very tiny for the price. We decided to try it again during happy hour. This time was great. We both decided to order the ribeye again thinking it would be a better portion size and it defiantly was. Not sure what happened the last time. I ordered the Mac n cheese for a side and to my surprise it was AMAZING. I was so shocked coming from a sushi restaurant. I do like a little salt on my food which they don’t add but offer. It was great. I also ordered the happy hour Poke with the salad…..again AMAZING. The taste was on point. It did have a little kick (hot) but not to much. The happy hour menu has a good amount of options for a cheap price that I appreciate. It allows you the chance to try it for cheap just in case you don’t like it without paying so much. I’m definitely going back.

Jordan worked hard to make our casual dinner out feel special, without making a fuss. He followed up on a wine recommendation and when he discovered it wasn't to my taste, he immediately brought me something that did work. When he realized the tuna roll was too spicy for my wife, he brought out her choice right away. Then he enlisted the manager, Sal, to clarify something on our bill. 'The little things' make all the difference and it's why we'll be back. Thanks!

The server lacked confidence and knowledge about the menu. She forgot a couple items we ordered and had to be reminded on a few occasions. The lighting on the inside patio wasn’t adjusted once it got dark outside so we felt like we were eating in the dark

Had reservations and was seated promptly. Wait staff appeared to not enjoy their job. They were not engaging or friendly. Service was just ok, could have been much better. They weren’t happy people. This kind of set the tone for the evening.
Ordered the calamari for an app. It was average, sauce that came with it was tasty and had a kick to it.
For the entree I got the French dip. This was a huge disappointment. The menu says it was supposed to come with au jus. It didn’t. It came with a tiny dip container of brown gravy. Tasted like to came from a gravy mix packet you would find at the grocery store. This was in no way, shape, or form au jus. Potato chips were good. I had a discount coupon that I used for a portion of my check. Had I paid full price I would have asked for an adjustment. This entree was really bad.
Restaurant was LOUD. Had to constantly raise my voice to have a conversation with the people at my table. Seemed more like a night club than a restaurant.
Because of the unfriendly wait staff and lousy food I prolly won’t return. Overall was not a pleasant experience.
UPDATE: I just received my credit card statement that had the Kona Grill charge on it. It appears the server adjusted (doubled) their tip. I was charged more than what I signed for on my check. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!
2nd UPDATE: The restaurant manager contacted me yesterday and is sincerely taking action on my recent dining experience. I do believe that he wants to ensure my experience is not the norm. I will be visiting the restaurant again in the near future and will update this review after that visit.

Celebrating a birthday. Only half of the restaurant was being used. We were packed in there and had to sit at a high top. Manager and chef were delivering food which told us they lacked staff-correct. Took a long time to be greeted. Food came in fair time. Took too long for drink refills and getting bill processed. Not a great experience for a birthday celebration. Not returning!

The food was great, the service fantastic, and the ambiance was energetic! There was DJ playing music and our party had a great time. The music was playing loudly so conversation was manageable but a bit strained, but it was still an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend for a fun night out.

The macadamia nut chicken was out of this world! So were the pork chops . The staff went above and beyond, too. Highly recommended for any occasion. They have a fun and lively atmosphere. A must try!

The service was very good but the rolls were so so. It was so loud that we could barely hear each across the table. Our ears were ringing after we left.

The food is always great but the service is getting worse.
Not the servers, they are all very nice and do what they Can but the kitchen and the sushi bar take forever.
Is horrible to be waiting 40-45 minutes for the food to arrive!

Went for a birthday. We had a party of 8. Slow to get seated (we had a reservation and it wasn’t crowded), and generally slow service from there. Even getting menus took time. Food was good, but service was just too slow.

Horrible food and service with live obnoxious music by a DJ at 7 PM. Burgers looked like Mc D's, chicken , which was suggested by server/bartender, was dry and tough as jerky. Had fruit flies in the wine to top it off.

Used open table to make reservation. Still had to wait over 30 min. Understandable on a Saturday night, but 7:30 reservations got seated before us and ours was @ 7:15??? We were seated a the very back of house near the restrooms which is also never the most pleasant option, especially after waiting so long. We had 3 kids with us so perhaps that is why. ? But the kids are a preteen and teens so I’m unsure if that was just a coincidence or not. Bar was”really backed up”, but waiting 20 min for a glass of house Cab also seems excessive. I was done with my entree and had been for several minutes before it was addressed. And that was my husband asking our sever about it, not our server offering any explanation about the delay. The food was so good. And we spent over $150, which is just...a lot, and it wasn’t necessarily unexpected but I wish the experience and service had been better because it would have had us wanting to come back for more than just the yellowtail and veggie sushi, which was delicious. Sigh.

The food was great but the service was the worst I’ve had in quite some time. We didn’t get one refill. The server came and took the order of one individual at the table, got distracted and walked away and didn’t return until we literally walked over to get her about 20 minutes of waiting. Didn’t come to check on how the food was or if we needed anything additional. We had to flag her down for our check and then she never brought the to go boxes or change back. We literally walked to the grill to get our own to go boxes and asked her for our change. Her response to all of this was that they were short handed due to unemployment being extended. We told her we understood but it would’ve been nice for her to communicate that. I couldn’t believe the lack of customer service provided at this establishment.

My son’s birthday dinner. Having been on 3 other occasions we had very definite expectations for everything. Upon arrival we were sat early and the waitress was friendly and helpful but stretched very thin. Apparently Kona was bought by some idiots who decided to turn a once nice restaurant into a friggin club. We couldn’t have a normal conversation the music was so loud. The steak I ordered was cooked to medium not medium rare as asked. The butter was a nice touch but never melted....ever. The steak wasn’t seasoned. At. All. It was as if the chef had a grudge against using salt or something.

Have dined at Kona dozens of times. Music was so loud I had to ask the server to move closer and put my ear up to her. Food was OK, usually better.

Easter Sunday Brunch was understaffed, thus 20 minute wait times for reservations and noise level of the areas seating was echoing and again wait time for ordering/delivery of meals - not desirable.

There were 3 different menus but was giving one when we sat. The waiter had to tell us about the other 2. Also the waiter was overwhelmed, if you want to call it that. Our child did not get her milk, her dessert was giving when we were about to leave. Our food came out at different times. It was an awful Easter dinner.

I have been multiple times in the past and this was by far the worst experience. The service was slow and haphazard. The manager did everything she could to make it right, but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth.

Really nice sports bar like atmosphere. Service was really great. The waiters are very attentive. Food was very pleasing to the eye but if you someone who likes flavor (seasoning) to taste you won’t get any. Happy hour 9-close mon-sat has a decent amount of choices to choose from including cocktails. Very reasonable prices.
