King's Fish House - Long Beach
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about- and we’ve tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!
So many things could have been done so much better...to start with our shell fish we’re precracked and the claw crackers were too small to fit around the shell. So when we were finally able to crack them open juice from inside the claw squirted everywhere and drenched the table and put guests. Main courses were brought out cold. We had 2 servers and only one of them was friendly and accommodating. If not for her, I would have only given 1 star.
We enjoyed the oyster selection and were able to choose our favorite which were the ones from Chesapeake. We split catfish which was as expected. Mac and cheese was nothing to write home about. Garlic Mashed potatoes were excellent. Overall a noisy environment but still enjoyable. Server was timely and met our needs quickly. Would return.
Fun and enjoyable place, great food, wonderful service.
Salad was fresh and large, had to share the wedge as it was too much for one person. Soups were excellent, especially the clam chowder. Sour dough bread, yum. I had the the Yellowtail Carpaccio which was okay, would have preferred sashimi I think, but very fresh and tasty. My friends had the Macadamia crusted halibut and loved it. Definitely would go back again.
They were so nice in accommodating us with our foodie toddler whose favorite food is fish! Thank you! Great service by our server and excellent food. We enjoyed the dozen oysters and macadamia halibut! Oh and the Mac n cheese was perfect “comfort food”.
Great variety of fresh fish with many variations in preparation. Something for everyone with non-fish selections too. We had a darling attentive server. Always happy to go to King’s.
Our table by the window allowed for street view and people watching. The wine was good and reasonably priced by the glass. I enjoyed perfectly pan-fried sand dabs, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, and crispy brussel sprouts, all delicious, served hot Stephanie. No complaints and can't wait to have another dinner at this classic restaurant in Downtown Long Beach!
Perfect place to spend the hubby's birthday with the kids .. Food was excellent and so was the service.
Love the food and the seating was very comfortable.
We had a very nice business lunch. The food and the service were excellent.
Food was not as good as we had expected for the price we paid.
Although food portions were small for the money, we really enjoyed our meal. The Miso Chilean Sea Bass was superb. I had the Halibut but I'll definitely order sea bass next time.
King’s should be awarded Royal status as proprietor of the Seas. Their food, fresh and plentiful. A great happy hour on food & drink. Oysters are briny and appetizing. The best presentation of Louie Salad with dressing on side or order it chopped.
Nice booth by the street and really good oysters. Service was pretty quick and felt the prices were fair. Good beer and wine selection as well.
The red crab as well as the filet mignon were both very good. The sides were not good. We had mac n cheese which was dry and unflavored. Most of the zucchini was undercooked. The mashed potatoes had to have been instant. For the price one pays for the entree I would expect better prepared sides. A belvedere martini with an extra shot was $27. I expect a 5 star experience for their prices.
The food was excellent and we appreciated the validated parking. We ate early (6pm) so there weren't many people in the restaurant but we found the background music too loud for our taste and for that reason may not return.
I always look forward to coming to Kings. The food, the atmosphere and service are always outstanding.
Katie was our server this last time and she was wonderful to have serve and talk with us!
We had a great time having dinner with some friends. It was our first day there and weren’t sure what to expect. We were seated right by the windows at a booth. It did feel really warm and we were feeling a little uncomfortable. About 10 minutes later they offered to open the window, which we were happy to agree. The food was amazing and fresh. The service was also really good. The only thing I was t happy with was that even though I was happy to open the window to get some fresh air, we didn’t enjoy the homeless guy outside the window that was screaming. We will definitely be back soon . Can’t wait to eat the oysters again.
Always a great place to go eat. Never have had a bad experience.
The food was excellent but the service was spotty. It took more than 30 minutes after we ordered them to get a glass of wine. The drinks finally arrived after we had to ask for them at the 25 minute mark and then they weren’t what we ordered. The staff seemed to act like they were right and we were wrong about what we’d ordered. That said, the waitress who handled the food was much better than those who seemed to be in charge of the drinks.
Food was good, restaurant was loud, service from the bar was exceptionally slow. We had our appetizers out before our drinks.
Good meal. Service slowed when the restaurant filled up, they may have been caught with a short staff.
Went for a birthday luncheon with family. Lots of options and a kids menu, everything was delicious. Service was great, our waitress was patient and sweet. We even sent back fish to be well-cooked and they were accommodating. Very pleased.
Great dinner with friends. Everything was delicious. A little slow on the service but it was crowded.
I was there for lunch w/ a big crew. Nice table, open floor/windows, great food, good service. I would definitely come back.
Server was great and attentive to our needs. Kudos to her professionalism! Food okay not over the top. Overall, worth recommending and great place.
Our server, Delaney was outstanding! Super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable!
Highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining and for happy hour and oyster shots in the bar section! Great food, great service, great prices and great location
The crab cakes were really sub-par -at a good seafood place, I expect the crab cakes to be full of, well lump crab meat. :-) The sides and dessert were great.
Beautiful Downtown Long Beach.
Wide open floor plan with plenty of windows, but that allows flying insects. We were fight flies during the entire meal.
But the food was good and our server was excellent
FABULOUS!! Food and service was great. Our server Shana was AWESOME!!!
There were 11 of us and our waiter did not miss a beat! Overall, the food was fantastic, service was excellent and cannot wait to go again!
Great seafood. Music was but loud as we were having business lunch was hard to hear the conversation.
Seafood salad was delicious. Sourdough bread was wonderful
Hosted a business lunch. Food was excellent and server was good. Will come back
We got seated right away and the service was fabulous!! Very nice place! I had the beet salad, delish!!!! We had 3 different salads, Fish and chips, and the Ono. Everything was to our satisfaction!
Overall a great time. Went with some friends and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Great food! Great service!
We have been here before, but this time the food was even better than before. We can't wait to go back
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at King's. My friend recommended Kings and we found everything to be first rate. The drinks we had and a superb Santa Margarita wine that we asked for in a bucket of ice was a great pairing with the Captains Mate platter that we split along with a salad and clam chowder. The cold seafood was really fresh and a good assortment and when we left the bill didn't break the bank. My wife says she wants to go back once a week.
