A Geneva favorite. Amazing selection of locally sourced food.
Great meal for my birthday at KF. Drinks and a cheese board at the bar followed by a super dinner in the dining room. Great vibe. Only downfall was dessert. Just ordered the wrong thing. Will definitely go back.!!
Always a fan of Kindred Fare and this dinner was no exception. The service is beyond phenomenal and the food is fresh, interesting, creative, and tasty. I love the unusual creations offered on the menu, such as the raspberry-matcha sorbet and the way in which even more standard fare (flatbread pizza) has a distinctive twist.
Great service and atmosphere. Food was really good but was a bit under salted. Also, asked for a med-well burger and to came out medium. Little on the raw side for me.
First time to try this restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding! Looking forward to our next visit!
Food was great. Service was great. Ambiance would have been great except for the noise level.
Would go back but would try other than peak times.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food and service is always top notch.
Very trendy bar and restaurant. Great for small groups and casual dining. Excellent collection of spirits and novel adaptations for the traditional 'shot and beer' like cider and aromatic gin chaser.
Kindred Fare was fantastic. We were seated at a high table in front of the kitchen/food prep. The chefs were friendly and it turned out to be an amazing experience. The food is high quality, the service fantastic and the overall ambiance contemporary and fresh.
Noisy, noisy, noisy. Did I mention noisy? So frustrating. As a vegetarian I have often asked to have a plate of vegetable sides (chosen by the kitchen) as my entree. I have never had a restaurant decline to do this, until this one. I was shocked. Another person in our party didn't get an ordered drink until she ordered it again, and another's entree of duck breast, while nicely prepared, was room temperature and was served without a knife capable of cutting it. Food was delivered with a curt announcement of what it was and no indication that anyone hoped we would enjoy it. Our server did not return to the table to check on how we were doing - which is probably just as well since they probably would have gotten an earful. I had really looked forward to trying this restaurant and could not have been more disappointed.
We ALWAYS have an amazing meal and over-the-top customer service at Kindred Fare. You are sorely missing our if you don't give this gem a chance. Love always.
Fantastic wine selection by the bottle, very good food, wonderful service. This is a great place to come and stay for a while enjoying good food and company. Wine by the glass selection could be a little more interesting, but if you go with a group and get a bottle or two instead, you avoid that problem. Recommend reservations as it can be busy during peak season and hours. Only critique is that the menu doesn't change as seasonally as they claim, but the specials they do have are phenomenal, so those keep it interesting.
Extremely noisy, limited menu and pricey for what they offered.
Would not go back.
Anniversary dinner was fantastic!
The cheese plate was awesome! Our server was very friendly also. The restaurant is a little noisy however.
This is a really great restaurant. Simple, Clean and really good food. Great wine list with lots of good NYS Wines. Happening vibe, warm and fun. Strange location, but worth the quick drive out of downtown!
Creative offerings like the calamari and chick peas and fried quinoa. Would have had an even better experience had the power not gone out for a good part of our evening
Okay, a couple of large parties dominated the attention of the staff leaving the two of us with little attention and a long wait for everything.
Great restaurant. Had a lovely time.
The portion was large. I had the pork chop. Although I found it a little pricey the chop was large and cooked perfectly to the way I ordered it. My husband had the Salmon and he is extremely particular to the way it is cooked. He ordered rare and it was. Our server was cheerful and efficient. He made the dinner more enjoyable as we were visiting from out of town.
Outstanding food, good service. Deafening sound system with nothing to dampen the sound. A bit pricey, but it delivered.
The food was decent. The service was abysmal and the acoustics create way too much noise. I had the fried chicken which was overcooked and lacked a sauce other than a drizzle of honey. The pork belly Bowl was very good and the sides were excellent. Our waitress was terrible. Wlaking about the dining room never making eye contact to avoid getting us drinks or plates or silverware. It was maddening.
The salmon seemed very undercooked. Honestly not much on the menu that I would even order. They need some more “normal” dishes for the people that don’t care to try funky dinners The closest thing to normal was the salmon and the crispy chicken.
The dessert torture and honey vanilla ice cream, however, was sensational! The server was great!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are so happy that you enjoyed the desserts and the service. Sorry that the salmon was undercooked for you. We purposely cook it to a medium temperature, but I will speak with our servers to make sure they are asking each guest as they are supposed to. If you choose to visit us again there are other classic American dishes on our menu~grilled flatbread pizzas, veggie soups, cheese plates, Mac & cheese, a Burger, and Steak with fries.
Great cocktails and food. Unique menu. Great time.
Outstanding food; our absolute favorite restaurant in a 50 mile radius! We always book seats at the small counter where the chefs work - fascinating and informative; stools there are uncomfortable but it's worth it! Enhances the whole experience.
This was out 2nd time here and this time we were celebrating our anniversary...everything about this restaurant is perfect from the warm rustic decor to the specialty cocktails and of course the food! Love the farm to table concept and using local farmers is awesome! Can’t wait to go back soon...next time I’m trying the burger!
Everything was spectacular. Our waiter went out of his his way to secure the last three “specials”’before the kitchen ran out. loved it!
Jeffrey our server was attentive as well as enjoyable - and the menu is always changing with the seasons to introduce local, fresh ingredients. Brian the bartender always knows just what to mix up for ya! We will definitely be back!
The food, the service and the ambience are exceptional. The noise level is high but not unbearable. The selection of food could be more varied but what is offered is always excellent. The choice of wine is very good for a western New York restaurant. My husband and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Service and food were excellent! Monday is wonderful night to go because they offer prix fixe! No corkage fee. Meal selections are excellent! Three courses for $35/pp.
Fun atmosphere, amazing food. Choose it for one of our anniversary dinners.
Amazing dinner with 5 star food. I would 100% recommend Kindred Fare.
Food was delicious, service great, staff friendly and attentive, a little pricey but food was great, so all good. Definitely recommend to anyone !
The restaurant itself is very pretty. Rustic with an open kitchen. We started with the cheese plate, it was great & served with a basket of warm bread & crackers. My husband had the pork belly rice bowl. He loved it. He got a side of fingerling potatoes , they were dark purple potatoes not the typical fingerling potatoes we expected and over cooked in our opinion & kind of mushy. I got the cornmeal crusted spicy chicken, it was spiced just right BUT was only luke warm at best, as if it was just keeping warm in an oven or under a light. The cole slaw was very good. I got the gnocchi as a side & that was delicious. Our server was friendly & attentive. We would go back & give it a try again.
Looked at the reviews and thought we'd give it a shot. So glad we did! Nice atmosphere. I loved the decor with reclaimed wood and garden wall in the foyer. Bartender nailed a delish lemon drop martini. We started with the fried calamari and chickpeas - very good with a yummy aioli sauce - followed by the mixed green salad with cucumbers and pistachios - nice and fresh. Salad was big enough to share. We also shared the 16 oz. ribeye cooked to a perfect medium (tender, juicy, very flavorful) with fries, garlic butter and homemade ketchup. Highly recommend. Will return.
Definately would recommend. Fantastic food, service and ambiance. Can't wait to go back!
It's so good to dine in a clean, modern space in Geneva!
Made a reservation one day in advance for their opening time slot - got nothing special, next to couple with no reservation in center of room. The service was very good. The night’s special, scallops, were very good! The salmon over Cesar salad - mixed - salmon was very good but the Cesar salad was a stack of Romaine lettuce leaves on top of dressing with large thumb- size hunks of stale bread and cherry tomatoes past their prime. No bread with dinner. The music was very loud and conversation from surrounding tables made conversation very difficult - no “ambience”, in my opinion. The restaurant became very crowded within one hour after opening so I guess people like it? Not for me. I felt it was pricy for what we received.
Thanks for the feedback, and great to hear you loved the scallops. Sorry about the salad. It's one of our popular items and we typically get great reviews. We will inform our kitchen to fix any issues that may have occurred. And we would have been happy to have put you someplace else if you were not happy with your table. Please let us know for future visits if you would prefer a corner, banquette or quieter area as we are very accommodating. Thanks for visiting us on a busy homecoming weekend.
Great food, great service. Scallops & accompanying veggies were so fresh, cooked perfectly & paired with a wonderfully complementary apple something puree. Fried chicken YUM! Poutine YUM! The outside tables are dog friendly, big plus in my book!
fun atmosphere, very hip cocktails, fabulous waiter! My husband said his burger was fantastic! I can add that the fries were really good. I had the soup of the day and it was yummy. My recommendation for the Kale salad (my main) would be to chop up the kale leaves. they were way too big and perhaps they had not been "massaged". Kale loves a good massage. It was a pretty basic kale salad, nothing really going on with it. It needs a little excitement added. My husband had a burrata salad special that was really good!
Hi Stacey, We appreciate the feedback and definitely addressed the kale salad with our team right after you left to make sure they were consistently "massaging" it per order. It has been one of our most popular salads that we have not been able to take off the menu, but maybe yours was not seasoned properly per our usual recipe. Our kitchen is aware. We are happy that you enjoyed everything else. Thank you for visiting us and we hope to see you again soon.
