Ken Lo's Memories of China
Situated in London's exclusive Belgravia, Ken Lo's has long been a neighbourhood gem and continues to receive oustanding reviews. As well as impeccable service, the restaurant also offers an impressive wine list and is beautifully decorated with traditional Chinese style wood and fabrics for an atmospheric setting. For those in the know, the restaurant will also accomodate takeaway service.
This neighbourhood gem enjoys the patronage of well-heeled clientele from Belgravia and Knightsbridge. The restaurant's intimate and atmospheric interior is a perfect place to hold a business lunch or a celebratory dinner with friends.
Enjoyable meal, fresh and tasty food. Friendly staff,
3rd visit and seems to get better!
Grear meal and great service...
Lucy and I chose the Menu A option and were furnished with lots of colourful dishes to eat. The food came quite speedily between courses and the staff were friendly and efficient. Altogether a very lovely experience and our bellies were definitely full afterwards.
The set menu was phenomenal value and service prompt but matched to our pace. One tiny criticism - I would like to see a vegetable dish on the set menus.
Tucked away in Belgravia.
Great choice in the food menu.
All well presented and very tasty.
Service was excellent, very attentive.
Well decorated and a rather quiet ambience.
The food was absolutely delicious, which makes the bland restaurant decor even more of a shame! Service was overall very good even if a couple of the waitresses were a little too keen to clear the table when we barely finished our first course. That being said - coming back to it - the food was amazing. Very subtle tastes, this is how Chinese should always taste! None of the heavy and overpowering sauces, it’s all about finesse. Will definitely be coming back.
Always excellent as it was when Kenneth and Ann opened it
The food was delicious as always but the service was extremely slow despite the restaurant not being busy at all. Staff were friendly but not attentive. It was disappointing for such a large party booking.
Great Peking duck - very attentive service however think for the prices the standard of food could be improved. We enjoyed our evening there.
Absolutely incredible - the food was amazing only fault was we couldn’t stay longer
Although we booked our reservations in advanced -and confirmed them that day - we were made to sit in the bar. They said they had no tables in the restaurant when we arrived -on time. i did see a few tables for 4 that were available. They sat us in the bar instead. This was an unattractive space that was noisy. People getting to go food would wait in there talking on their phones. The bartender was chopping ice. They didn't seat any other people in the bar. Since we were well dressed and on time for our reservation -the only conclusion I can come to is that they did not want to seat Americans. if that is the case they should not be on open table.
This took away from the good food. This restaurant was a favorite of my husbands -who is in London often for work. But we will never go back or recommend due to them not honoring the reservation.
Absolutely delicious. We went on Christmas Eve and still received impeccable service. Great ambiance as well.
I had good customer service
And good atmosphere
This was our first visit. We were warmly received , all the staff were helpful and friendly. Food was tasty. We will certainly return .
As always was great
"very nice and authentic Chinese food, lovely and helpful staff.
My family and I have been eating at Memories for 30 years and it's as good today as it was in the 80's. The toasted seaweed and the banana fritters take me back to my childhood! The ambience is relaxed and the volume isn't too loud so our party of 7 didn't have to shout to be heard. The service is a little slow but the portions are huge and delicious and well worth the wait. Given how generous the quantities are and the quality, Memories is very good value. Super place for bigger parties and celebrations, we can't wait to have another excuse to dine here. Highly recommended
Food was so bad. Just unbelievable.
Great to be back
We’ve been coming here for years and the standard remains as high as ever, the food is consistently excellent, service great and the restaurant is lovely.
Booking a table with opentable means getting a worst table in the restaurant usually next to the kitchen enterence
Good food and service, let down a little by the somber atmosphere.
Food is served extremely fast. The food is very good but the enviro has changed over the years
Sono tornata a distanza di qualche anno come cena finale di una breve vacanza con mio cugino.
Mangiato benissimo tutto molto squisito.
Staff molto cortese e simpatico.
Da non dimenticare.
Per chi viene da queste parti è d' obbligo andare.
Ci tornerò sicuramente, pasto magnifico, dalla location alla cucina,ma soprattutto al servizio,
This is a smart Chinese restaurant in Belgravia. The staff are European and the food has been adapted to European tastes.
The dishes are bright and well presented, but a little high on sugar. Some are more successful than others. The prices are reasonable for the area.
The food is outstanding.
The service, while friendly was very slow to start. Did not know who our waiter was for first 15 minutes.
Food slightly bland I have to say. Maybe unlucky with my order. Service good. Overall was ok but wouldn’t rush back sorry.
Very good food, one of the best in London
I ordered sweet & sour pork. It was nice but the sauce was odd - mostly sour. I told them and asked them to taste it. The chef was brand new and he agreed. Then I had chicken with black bean, it was good. Mostly, though, the service was great
A superb restaurant which never disappoint: its food is always very tasty.
Ventilation needs to be better, food is good filling
Good ish spot for Sunday lunch , was a bit rushed and service did their beat but understaffed
Food solid , not quite royal china but above average
Such a disappointment. We have been eating at Ken Lo’s Memories of China for more than 30 years, but this was our last time. Food was acceptable but expensive and the service very poor.
Our guest had last eaten at Memories of China 40 years ago.
He said it had lost nothing in quality over the years.
We don't have his age-old yardstick to make the comparison, but our evening was highly enjoyable, excellent food and service combined with a happy stroll down memory lane.
Good selection of main dishes - my party had the fixed price menu which was good value for money. Meal for 3 with two bottles of wine came to £175 which for Belgravia is a bargain.
Excellent menu, good food and service, pleasant ambience,
We booked this restaurant on it’s good name and had high expectations. What a disappointment, average food and unfriendly poor service on this occasion. Dissatisfied customers.
Dry good high end Chinese food, freshest ingredients, beautifully prepared and tasty
Excellent restaurant. We had a combination of items we passed around family style. Hits were the bok choy, beef, and salmon oriented dishes. We also liked the small appetizers we ordered. The Singapore noodles also were very nice. Wine selections (by the glass in our case) were paired nicely with the various items. Descriptions of spiciness levels were accurate. The wait staff were professional and knowledgeable.
