Joe Theismann's Restaurant
Loved it! Great food, location, and wait staff.
Business dinner two nights in a row (because it was so good the first night).
I would describe the environment as a more upscale sports bar environment. Very comfortable, great service and good food.
Ravonn, our server, was excellent! He had excellent suggestions and was a delight!
We were seated promptly. The wait staff were friendly without hovering to much. This was a late mother's day dinner since we were not able to Sunday. We ordered the crab dip for an app. The strip steak with a crabcake, the KC ribs, and the fish and chips. Crabcake was all meat, steak was cooked to perfection, and the ribs fall off the bone. The fish was not properly drained of the oil. The manager promptly bought a whole new plate. Everything was good. I've been here before and will return whenever I can.
Great food great atmosphere but the service was a bit slow. Maybe because it was Mother’s Day? Overall great experience though.
They were 45 minutes late seating us for a confirmed 12:30 pm brunch seating. We both ordered blueberry pancakes with bacon. Only one came and we were given a plate to share this one until the other order could arrive (approximately 20 minutes later). A horrible experience with the exception of the countenance of our waitress. Also, the food was terrible. We will not be back
This was a Mother's Day luncheon. The food as always was very good. Also, the table service provided by our server was excellent. However, the low rating for service is based on the fact that we waited over an hour to get seated and this was with a reservation. We were not given the courtesy I was being told that there was a problem when we checked in. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time I finally inquired from the hostess as to the problem. The reason provided for the long delay was that their ordering system to the kitchen was malfunctioning. It seems that for a high-end establishment such as this, they would have a backup system in place to ensure they can provide their customers with their ordinarily very good service. Is also terribly unprofessional to not advise us when we checked in of the delay.
Best filet ever!!! and the green beans...so good. I would have given overall a 5 but they inadvertently made my check for almost twice as much by charging me incorrectly. They were nice about correcting it though and if I hadn't had to leave the next day would have gone back for another filet. Absolutely wonderful.
Mother’s Day brunch. Can’t suggest the food because after two hours we didn’t get it, nor did anyone else in our area. Server was very nice and apologetic, and they didn’t charge us for some donuts and drinks. Hard to keep hungry kiddos entertained for two hours.
Food was great. Service was good but a little slow due to Mother’s Day rush. They also ran out of coffee cups and we got a coffee served in a pint glass. The server said this happens on regular weekends too. Maybe they should invest in a few more coffee cups. Overall it was a good experience and a good value, we’ll try them again for a regular brunch.
Excellent service, Colleen was great. The menu has changed, we really missed the lollipop lamb chops. Our table ordered appetizer wings, half old bay (too salty), half barbecue. Enjoyed the butcher burger and fries; herb roasted chicken, mashed potatoes (too much salt), green beans; Caesar salad, sweet potato fries; crab soup, loaded bake potato, garden salad. Dessert was shared, carrot cake (a little dry) and a brownie sundae. Overall not bad but clearly not what it used to be.
Our service at Joe Theismann's Restaurant was excellent! Our waitress was attentive and did everything perfectly. All of our meals were really good. We would definitely eat here again.
The servers were very attentive to our needs. Service was excellent and the food was prepared perfectly! Had a wonderful experience.
First time back after 14 years in Arizona. Still outstanding food, service, and ambience.
Menu was different again....special Fish taco was good....
We have enjoyed Theismann’s for the past 20 years. Very disappointed in the new menu. Both entrees and value. Service was good, food ok, but overpriced. No lamb pops or other starters we went specifically to Theismann’s to enjoy.
Every was terrific. When arrived we we’re immediately seated even though we were early. The service and the food we’re outstanding. The saracha deviled eggs hit the spot. My NY strip steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The entire experience was awesome!
Selna was an amazing server. Food was fresh and great value. Best brunch I have been to in a long time
Theismanns will always be a restaurant of choice for my family and business partners. Nothing like a cozy booth at JTs. Food is always good.
The restaurant needs an upgrade though - the leather on the booth banquets is cracked and catches on clothing as you slide in. The whole place seems a bit tired. Time for a fresh make over.
Please train the servers to read the customers. If I’ve already decided but you haven’t bothered to ask, I don’t want to hear the long essay on specials. Don’t come back and talk about anything. I’m there to visit with whoever I am with. I tip the highest for the waiter who says little and delivers fast.
In town for two days. Met up with an old friend for dinner.
Wonderful experience at Theismann’s!
Grownup grilled cheese is tasty but too loaded with cheese.
Food took way too long to arrive.
Prices appear to be higher than before Theismann sold to the new owners.
Still a decent place to eat, but perhaps losing some of what was good before the sale.
Most of our dishes were extremly salty, especially the plain chicken wings, and other dishes my staff had.
This was my first time visiting Joe Theismann‘s. It did not disappoint!
I was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly showed me to an open table. My server, Bill, was phenomenal! He was friendly, prompt , And knowledgeable of the menu.
The food was amazing as well! It was brought out quickly and the flavor was excellent! The burger was juicy and the fries crispy and Well seasoned. Bill recommended the raspberry sorbet for dessert and it did not disappoint!
I highly recommend Joe Theismann‘s and I can’t wait to return!
Good food; Attentive service; Convenient location. What more could you ask for!
The restaurant has many good qualities. Would recommend it to people visiting Alexandria for value and the quality of food and service.
The service was great the food was amazingly great.
Had a great Easter brunch! Love this place!
Normally, I go to JT's for Happy Hour (awesome); dinner (fantastic); or to watch sports (no better place). But, this was the second time I went there for brunch. In both cases, the service was far below what I have expected, with the most recent trip one of the worst dining experiences ever due to the service, not some really delicious food. In fairness, the manager did what was right in compensating for the poor experience. I'm not giving up on JT's because it really is a great place, but one more bad experience and we're done. Many other great places in Old Town!
We went for Easter. Ordered from the brunch menu. Appetizer came with two dirty plates. Water glass had lipstick on rim. Fork was dirty. Waitress was annoyed we kept asking for clean dishes. Did not think having clean dishes and clean flatware was a lot to ask in a restaurant. Food was average. Would not return. Over priced sports bar.
The location is great, walking distance from major distance from major hotel. We were seated promptly. Service was wonderful. Our waiter Ray was amazing and the food was phenomenal.
Great happy hour!!
We really enjoyed our evening,,,,it was a perfect location, our waiter was beyond helpful!! I wish I could remember his name. Had an outstanding version of a Manhattan, I should have gotten the recipe, if anyone can help and email it to me would really appreciate it,
Chicken and Meatloaf dishes arrived cold. Chicken was very dry and meatloaf was too salty. Won’t be back.
The only reason I rated the food a 4 was the crab dip appetizer had very little crab and weird color (gray), and just not flavorful. Around here, people expect great crab dishes or leave them off the menu. All other dishes were wonderful.
They ran out of the wine we had after we ordered 2 glasses. They tried to steer us to another but we wanted the Winter Hill. I've seen other restaurants send someone to a store when an item is gone - it is great customer service.
Waitstaff was excellent.
The service was terrible. I could never find my waitress. Braised short ribs with a baked potato. It was hard and had no butter. I asked for butter. It took 1/2 hour to get it. The butter was hard as a rock (frozen), potato was cold -- They did give me another baked potato, but who wanted it at this point. The braised ribs were good. We then ordered a brownie sundae. Again brownie was hard as a rock. I threw a piece and it bounced off the plate. They removed it from my bill. I told them they should take it off the menu until they get fresh brownie. I was given 2 $20 gift certificates, but I am not sure I even want to use them.
Joe Theismann's isone of my favorite restaurants. I really enjoy their Friday night special (the cowboy rib eye). While the steak is a little pricey at $45.00, I've never been disappointed.
Fantastic food and service!! I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone who is visiting the D.C. area!
Good restaurant and the filet was great but the shrimp scampi was not very good...it had no real taste and the shrimp were tiny. Service was excellent and the drink menu prices were reasonable.
