Jardenea is a freshly new, “Farm to Fork Concept,” that practices sustainable environmentally friendly techniques. Our goal is to bring a better awareness of food, health, and well-being to your life while insuring to leave the land a better place for the next generation. We strive to give the complete dining experience with not only the cuisine but our signature cocktails and our seasonally changed wine list. The Cuisine that we create is globally influenced and locally produced whenever possible. Our chefs have a deep appreciation for farm fresh products but also realize these products could come at a great cost and leave a large carbon footprint. While keeping this in the forefront we only source products from the finest farms, fisheries, foragers and artisans that believe in the same vision. The menus are changed with the season and reflect the regional flavors to maximize freshness and minimize the carbon footprint.

Jardenea Ratings and Reviews
Just got back from having dinner at Jardenea and it was the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. We found Jardenea at the last minute on OpenTable and we’re so glad we did. Beautiful restaurant, quiet, jazz music and best of all, Derek. From the moment we walked in he made us feel welcome and special. Derek is simultaneously extremely professional and informative, yet warm and personal. He exudes service. Oh - and our food was excellent - flavorful, balanced and served HOT which seems to be a problem at even the higher end places we’ve eaten lately. We had the Caesar salad, crab bisque, sea bass and filet, all were wonderful and well presented. Highly recommend!
My dining companion had been there before and raved about the food. We sat outside because it was a beautiful evening. But as it became dark, there was no lighting on the patio and we asked for a candle; they could not produce one so we ate our entrees in complete darkness. Service was incredibly slow and the food was good but nothing special. Will not return anytime soon.
A very enjoyable dining experience. A server was attentive and accommodating. We told him we were attending a show at The Kennedy Center and he made sure we were out on time without feeling rushed. The food was so delicious and the cocktails fun. Would definitely go back and highly recommend it for a pre-Kennedy Center dinner.
Food was big reason to return; serving staff was gracious and attentive; chef came out to ask about dishes (pretty unusual for this area at this point). Was not expecting the quality of food and choices available given the surroundings/location -- so was pleasantly surprised.
Superb dinner in wonderful atmosphere with excellent service by Nelson (the waiter though head chef Nelson prepared great meal). Was a bit concerned about some poor reviews but these are all old. New chef has been there s little over a year so those are irrelevant. We loved crab cake appetizer, perfectly cooked beef with truffle potatoes to die for, and smoked duck. Service was prompt and helpful but not overbearing. Quiet, nice background music. Yes it is just off hotel lobby and unmarked(hint: just turn right upon entering hotel), but worth finding!
First, Waiter Nelson was a dynamic package as a food descriptor, a knowledgeable menu specialist, a patient server, a delightful waiter-to-chef-to-table liason, and one of the best national and international waiters who listened and best fed us;
Second, the food offerings were spectacular--remarkably FRESH, succulantly delicious, well sized (not too large or too little), bursting with unique spices/flavors, and ...
We recommend Jardenea to every friend visiting DC, to every family member for a future occasion, to Baltimore family/friends, and to the international community with whom my husband works!! Will you open in Chicago or Minneapolis?
Loved it! We have lived in the neighborhood for years and had not tried it as generally we find hotel restaurants not very interesting. Jardenea breaks that mold. We were with an older friend who loves salmon. But he also likes it thoroughly cooked, so it was helpful that the waiter mentioned that the chef usually does it so there is still some translucent pink. The chef, bless his heart, accommodated our friend and it was cooked through and through. Lovely.
Many thanks for a fine meal. See you soon.
Came in for DC restaurant week and for a friend's birthday. The food was amazing! (I recommend the duck). And the wait staff was so courteous. The young chef even came to our table and asked how our meal was. It was too bad they don't have much advertising or signage. People are really missing out on a great meal. I would definitely return.
An unexpected find in a hotel lobby restaurant. I had the peach salad and citrus crusted sole. My husband had the bisque and pork chops. It was truly delicious. Not a large menu but well balanced. The cocktails were also really well done. Not too strong, just right. Worth a visit for a solid good meal. The servers were great, around but not intrusive.
Beyond excellent pre-theatre dining experience! Our server Joe was most efficient and attentive without being overbearing. He even serenaded our birthday girl with his exquisite singing voice! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and bountiful in portion size. We opted for the pre-fixe combination (soft shell crab and crab cake appetizers; both had the Hawaiian halibut entree; cream brulee and lava cake desserts). The chef visited our table during our entree course to ask how everything was! Would highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant.
While billed as a "farm to table" restaurant we were a bit surprised to find brussel sprouts and asparagus on the menu in July. Additionally, Hawaiian Sea Bass which would need to come from very far away if truly Hawaiian. It was fine as a pre-theater spot, nothing special and didn't meet expectations as farm to table.
Very nice and tasty experience! The service was exceptional, which I didn't expect given the reviews. We had the pre fixe menu before heading to the Kennedy Center (an easy walk for those who have the 15 minutes). Crab cake starter was huge (enough for sharing between two people, really) and delicious. Sea bass entree was a good portion and prepared very nicely. The color of the grits beneath the fish was off-putting, but not enough to keep us from devouring it given how flavorful it was. Creme brulee came with a nice thick came of caramelized sugar a some nice ripe berries. The custard was slightly lumpy, but the flavor was amazing. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a nice dinner out considering the fair price points.
I had made the reservation for 6 people but it ended up being 15 so when I arrived at the restaurant (I tried to call in advance several times but the phone was busy), I asked if they could accommodate us and Joe said that he could if I gave him 20 minutes. That was terrific and so he had us at 'welcome to Jardenea.'
The food was delicious as were the cocktails and no one left hungry. Jardenea is DEFINITELY on our list of restaurants to return to the next time that we are in Washington, DC.
We're always looking for a good spot to eat near the Kennedy Center, but this is another miss. The food was excellent, but service was haphazard - we had the same issues mentioned in other reviews. Also, the ambiance/decor was a real turn off, a combination of loud hotel guests making a racket in the lobby, guests popping in wearing T-shirts and flip-flops, hotel employees scampering around, being in the half-empty dark room of the side of the lobby against the remarkably loud music. This restaurant desperately needs its own entrance, a host/hostess stand, better front-of-house and waitstaff, and more
Lazy service--had to wait over5 minutes for missing host to seat us. I was brought the check with our food and staff never returned to check on us or ask if we needed anything else. Staff did not refill 'endless' orange juice and never brought an order of grapefruit juice.
Mediocre experience and I would not return nor recommend the restaurant.
After reading many glowing reviews, I was looking forward to dining at Jardenea. Unfortunately, it was not the experience I had hoped for.
The restaurant is in a hotel, but there is no signage to indicate the entrance, nor is there a place to check in with a host or hostess.
The service was slow, especially given that the dining room was nowhere near full. 30 minutes passed before our order was taken, and after they brought the bill, it took another 20 minutes for them to process payment.
The food was okay, but unremarkable for the price point. All in all, it was a huge disappointment.
