J&G Steakhouse Scottsdale at The Phoenician
The spectacular sundown view is hard to beat. Her to imagine a more attractive Vista.
Excellent. Beautiful atmosphere and top notch service. My steak was perfect.
The tasting menu was wonderful... We highly recommend it for a lovely special occasion dinner out.
Food was great as always and the service was outstanding. The ambiance is like no other. This is actually affordable and the tasting menu is only $60 something. Even the leftovers were neatly packed and you pick them up on your way out.
It was my first time coming here. I wanted to take my mother & brother out to a nice restaurant in town as it was their first time in AZ - wanted to show them the best AZ had to offer. We had crab cake for app and I was not loving it very much. It had too much lemon taste to it. We had steak and mashed potatoes and I must say the potatoes were one of the best I've had and the steak was delicious. However, I was not impressed with the experience - maybe because it was a Wednesday night? Anyway, will try coming again with my husband. Here is a picture of the view outside and of the cute rolls they give.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Salad, steaks, sides, dessert, cocktails and wine all good. Courteous service. The best meal we have had at the Phoenician.
Food and environment was awesome!!!! Not sure our waitress was all that thrilled but who cares?! We loved it anyway! Best Cosmo over ever had and bison ribeye!!!!
Food is always delicious and Zac our waiter is amazing.
Nothing was particularly bad but nothing stood out in any way. At this price point there are just too many dining options in town and when it comes to premium level steakhouses this one just doesn’t measure up.
Everything was fine—no opportunities to specifically complain, but it was all pretty average.
Best Filet I have had in Phoenix
I had the gluten free chicken- not great! Very loud group with kids next to us.
Great food with great views!!
for us it is almost 100 miles round-trip to have dinner at J&G Scottsdale. That said, we go there for most of our special occasion dinners. It is a lovely setting. The food is outstanding, well worth the trip. Nice decor, excellent wait staff. Have not had a poor experience yet. It can be somewhat pricey, depending on what you order, but we keep coming back for more because we enjoy it so much.
Daughter’s birthday. Amazing service and personal attention.
Cannot recommend enough!!
It was awesome! From our waiter to the food! Will be going back soon!
Excellent! We’re only sorry about the rear wall of “mountain mirrors “... most unfortunate. Otherwise, the renovation was lovely, although the former design was wonderful.
There was a group of 6 of us celebrating my engagement! We had the “tasting menu”. . . One of the best meals I’ve had, start to finish. The view and ambiance were perfect. We also stayed until 10:30pm, when they closed at 9. . Our server Austin was amazing, he never rushed us, or made us feel like a burden. Excellent service and excellent dinner, highly recommend.
Walking into the restaurant I immediately felt excited. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but within a minute or two they sat us. It wasnt near the window, but I think it was still beautiful to see the resturant and we still got a view of the city. Our waiter David was amazing from the start, appeared open and ready. And congratulate me from the beginning and the end of the night. Food was delicious and the dessert really topped it off. Perfect for an anniversary or a celebration
Good. But very expensive
I cannot put my finger on it, but our first experience at J&G was fabulous! The waitress, Candace, was so on her game! She knew everything about the menu and the wine list. This time was not as great. Service was off, music was really loud and food was just okay. Maybe the answer is not to go on a Saturday? They were really busy.
Our waitress, Annie, was terrific.
All 6 of us loved our food.
The view was outstanding.
Thank God the couple with the crying baby got her simmered down . But at first the crying was very annoying.
Amazing! I came for my birthday and it was an awesome experience!
The only thing we would change is the place mats....very up scale restaurant with paper place mats...couldn't believe it. Everything else was excellent, wonderful quality food, and great service!
I booked about a week in advance to help celebrate my parents visiting us from the UK. Had a great experience here last year. Wish I could say the same this time.
When checking in with the hostess, we were told there was only a table open in the bar or on the patio, despite 90% of their restaurant tables open. This made no sense. A manager came over and reiterated we couldn’t have a restaurant table due to a “large party” coming in. This turned out to be one table for 10 people and the vast majority of their tables remained empty all night. This just set the night off in a bad direction.
We selected the patio table (which was too hot for my step-father who wasn’t feeling well) although the service from Jeff was truly excellent. He even explained why no-one had figured out how to switch the ceiling fans on after a renovation. Another management fail!
All in all, good food and service (from Jeff) but the experience was ruined by what seemed to be lazy and/or incompetent management. You expect more when paying $750 for a meal for 4!
Asked for a table with a view of the mountains and even though there were plenty of empty tables , we seated at the farthest table away from them
Beautiful restaurant! Breathtaking views! Food was amazing! And our server Amy, was such a integral part of our fabulous experience! She was attentive and knowledgeable and so much fun!! Loved it cannot wait to return! May even do a staycation this summer!
Waste of money. Loud obnoxious guests that staff wouldn't address, 45 minutes between appetizers and main course. Plenty of outside seats, but not for the guests in the restaurant.
I asked for an outside table, the view was very pretty. Service was very good and attentive, down to having our oyster plates turned so we don't have to reach across plate. I came for lobster only to be told they were kind of small. When you spend well over $200 for dinner, I need big lobster, I settled for a bison ribeye instead. I also heard the rooms were very nice as well. I won't be back for lobster, but for the atmosphere I may visit again.
Two out of six steaks were very over cooked. Asked for med rare and got well done.
We were traveling with another couple and staying at the Canyon Suites (part of Phoenician Hotel). J&G was an excellent restaurant, especially when you consider it was part of a Marriott hotel. We all ordered Halibut (we had too many meat meals on trip). The presentation was excellent and it was a good sized portion. The ladies thought the Halibut was a little dry and called the waiter over. The waiter immediately brought out 3 small dipping plates (different dips). The ladies stated this was perfect for the Halibut. The waiter then notified the manager, who came over to discuss the situation. We explain how the ladies thought the Halibut needed some additional sauce and the 3 small dipping played should be part of the service. He indicated that he would talk to the chef. It should be noted that the men just ate the Halibut as it was served.
AWESOME! Our waiter was so nice. The food was delicious. Very happy I chose this for my first meal in Phoenix. Got the 12oz filet which was delicious and the sauces complimented it nicely. Ambiance was very nice as well. Food came out at a good time! Would definitely come again next time I’m in Scottsdale.
The view was also exceptional! We had a very nice evening under the stars with an after dinner drink!
Beautiful views of the mountains and lights. Decor is elegant and food was so good
There were six in our party and everyone raved about the food and service. The view is spectacular so it was a perfect trio of food, service and ambiance. This is a unique and luxurious dining venue.
Great Porterhouse Steak and Dover Sole -- the service is first class
Great for any occasion.
Highly recommend J&G's. Service was top notch and food was fantastic.
My friends and I absolutely loved our meal at J&G. I ordered the tasting menu, everything was incredible and I was surprised by the portion sizes. I was able to share most of my dishes. I'm not a dessert fan but I loved the caramel ice cream! The view from the restaurant was beautiful as well.
I cannot say enough great things about this steakhouse. Our server was absolutely phenomenal. She was great at giving recommendations and knew the menu backwards and forward. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection. And the food was all mouth watering. We both agreed the next time we’re in the Phoenix area we’ll have to make a stop back here!
Our waitress Amy, was the best. Her wit made our night.
Beautiful restaurant and food presentation was very good. The food was equally tasty. If the weather is nice, ask for an outside table- the view is incredible.
