Open daily from 12pm to 10.30pm, Island Grill offers A La Carte, daily set menus and weekend brunch, plus draft beers and wine on tap.
Food quality was incredibly poor and there was no atmosphere in the restaurant
Fantastic food and service. Staff were excellent and had a great understanding of coeliac disease.
Great salmon and mushroom appetizers but the main courses were overcooked. Nice service.
Nice food in a modern styled restaurant. Attentive service.
Fantastic evening and sublime food. We all had Sirloin steaks and they were cooked to perfection and the tastiest ones ever had. The staff were very helpful and attentive and surprised my mother with a cake and candle for her birthday. Every course was delicious and perfect. The second time we have come up from Brighton to eat at this specific restaurant. Can highly recommend it
Cena in famiglia. Oltre le aspettative. Ambiente chic e cucina innovativa e di qualità. Sicuramente da provare!
Fish and chips généreux et très bon. Ambiance feutrée et personnel accueillant. Rapidité du service.
Beautifully presented brunch served in a relaxed and modern environment. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, cocktails and happy birthday singing. Thank you all.
Last year we chose Island Grill for our first date and returned as a married couple on the anniversary date this year. We let the staff know and they didn’t disappoint; the food was yummilicious, Sheville and Melissa made us feel extra special, and the chef added a little sweet something to our dessert which was just lovely..
Thank you Island Grill and congratulations to Sheville on his well deserved promotion - well done and stay fabulous!
We have visited this restaurant several times before and based on our most recent visit will not be coming again. Upon arrival, staff stood and stared at us for a good five minutes before we asked if we could be seated, and although our reservation had been confirmed they had no record of it. The food was average. I was told that a tuna steak could only be cooked "pink" or "well done" - there is no in between apparently. Several other issues throughout the night, very disappointing and overpriced given the quality of the service and food. Definitely won't be returning.
The booking through open table was not recognised but we were given a table. The food was very good and the service was very friendly and attentive. Value was excellent. We will return.
Very good food, sympathetic service and nice view if you are lucky having a table facing the park. Highly recommendable restaurant.
We had a great lunch here prior to attending one of the summer Hyde Park music events. The location is really good for Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and the Albert Hall. The choice was wide on the lunch menu, and the food quality was excellent. On our list to use again when in the area.
Our experience ended up being not so good. The food was good when we got it. We ordered cocktails to start and they arrived slowly but were good. We had a great smoked salmon starter, one of us had lamb and other had chicken. Both entrees were tasty and well presented. The service was reasonable to start with but deteriorated as the restaurant got busy. We were ignored for most of our meal, when our entrees arrived we were not asked for another wine, nobody came to ask us if we wished for wine with our meal. In the end I had to go up to the bar and ask the waiter who was washing glasses and putting them away. When we got the bill I noticed that there was a 12 1/2 % service charge added. I noticed from reading the menu that this was optional. I told the junior waiter who brought the credit machine over that I did not wish to pay this service fee due to poor service. After quite a bit of discussion between the waiters they brought the bill back less the service charge. When we left they were silent, did not apologize or respond. We will not be back or we can not recommend this restaurant to others.
The Island Grill offers a straightforward menu that is well-cooked, presented and served at a reasonable price. We spent a pleasant evening and would gladly return.
Arrived for our confirmed reservation and matre’ d told us they were closing for four days immediately and was sorry for the inconvenience,
He sent us to another restaurant
Fantastic food, the lamb main and deserts were superb.
Great meal and very good service
Good accessibility, kind service, good food quality
Food was delicious and the service provided was amazing
Rated ££ - (lower cost) by Opentable but should be £££.

You feel the difference between the two categories as you enter.
At 5:15pm there was one, junior waiter available.....senior waiters came soon after. He couldn’t find our reservation. Quickly provided drinks.
Limited menu. We chose soup (good) and watercress soufflé as starters, followed by super-berger and chips (I was not asked if I preferred the salad alternative to chips) and salmon.
Value for the money is very questionable though the food was tasty and the later service excellent.
Modern setting with very helpful/attentive staff.
Slow service, enough staff just a little unsure what they were doing... Missed out on a drink order, gave this on the house, pleasant toilets
The staff were incredibly attentive without being overbearing and the food was incredible for the price. Will definitely visit again!!
A great find. A short walk from the DoubleTree Hyde Park. Very professional staff. Excellent menu and preparations. Clean, modern environment. Nice wine list.
good service and good quality food as usual, we go there regularly and never been disappointed
Great service and the food was excelent. If I will be back to london I will defanetly go there again.
We had a horrible experience with the fish and chips. The batter texture and appearance had the look of a corn dog from a fair.
I enjoyed the food, the service was great. I made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner at 8pm and the restaurant was not crowded at all.
Found on Trip Advisor, and all the reviews were right - excellent food & service
errrrmmm having been here a couple of times, must say i enjoyed my previous visit better! the restaurant is what it sets out to be - a quick fast, casual diner for a simple lunch and the food was good, but the service could have been a lot better...firstly the maitre d (and waiter) sits at a table that is NOT in sightline of the guests! so whenever you want smtg you have go find him. the music was dire (jazz) so has to ask him to change that...no atmosphere at all, which is difficult with too few guests and the area is a bit of a building site right now (local tube Lancaster Gate - is shut...would have been nice if the restaurant or OT had told us that when we booked!) we need good restaurants in this area - devoid of anything decent
Just do it
I used to eat at the Island Grill many years ago when I lived in the area and although it still holds a lovely ambiance, the food was a little on the disappointing side on this occasion. My colleague had a burger that he said was quite dried out and I had the fish and chips but unfortunately the fish was well over cooked and the batter was done to a crisp!
I will return in the hope that this was a one off experience.
dinner was good though not exceptional. Breakfast the next day was not good. scrambled egg on crumpets. The crumpets did not seem to have toasted so as to make them inedible
The restaurant is well located and the service is great but is far too overpriced for what it is. Our starters were mediocre and overcooked and the wine list is extremely poor. The mains were very good.
My wife really enjoyed the mushroom and fig risotto. My duck salad was a bit sparse of actual duck, I expected more for 14.50, but it tasted ok. The happy hour mojitos were nice. The service was very good. We would definitely eat here again.
Food was amazing the only downside was slow with the drink but best restaurant I've been too
Service was exceptional as always - it's always nice to be referred to by name throughout the evening. Food was very good, with a special mention for the sharing trio of deserts.
Fantastic service by attentive staff, the embodiment of professionalism, all without being imposing. Food well presented, good choice and perfectly cooked; complemented well with great wine pairing. Definitely a new 'watering hole' for the many special visitors to London. Thank you.
On this return visit we felt very well looked after again. Manager remembered me from a previous visit - in February.
Food was very good with thoughtful touches. Highly recommend a visit!
