We had a ladies brunch on Sunday... hadn’t seen each other in months... Barley Sheaf was delightful, accommodating and beautiful... the grounds are stunning and the service was fabulous. The food was oh so tasty as well, highly recommend it great experience!
nice leisurely meal many nice choices available. ample sizes. loved the brioche French toast perfectly made traditional eggs benedict nice pace great service
Incredible value four course brunch for $40 PP, fresh squeezed OJ mimosa, unlimited coffee, nice course choices
Barley Sheaf did well considering the COVID crisis. Staff was terrific. The outdoors were well attended- a beautiful setting. My ribs were tasty, my wife's were too fatty but the remainder of the meal was good although pricey.
We had a great experience for my wife’s birthday. Highly recommend for special occasions.
Outstanding lunch. Wonderful food, perfect portions and great service.
Always a great experience!! Never disappoints!
Outstanding as always... Sunday’s brunch are always spectacular. We can’t wait to be back.
Best Chef in Bucks County. Fantastic staples and alway have adventurous “foodie” specials and seasonal dishes. Owners are super nice and there all the time to make sure everything is perfect. Cant say enough good things about this place
Loved the food and the ambiance!
Loved the shrimp lettuce wraps. A “special” worthy of the menu. Scallops a delicious entree. Always a pleasure to dine here.
Exceptional food, exceptional service, great setting. Very good and approachable owner who personally visits each table and sometimes serves.
Inn at Barley Sheaf never fails to impress. Food is innovative, service is polite and knowledgable and the ambience is sophisticated. The owners really understand the importance of social distancing and can accommodate outside dining tastefully. Highly recommended.
Was especially impressed with the service. Bonnie was excellent in tending to our needs. Loved the fact that one of the owners took the time to greet guests. We will be back.
Exceptional food at an particularly beautiful historic Bucks County venue. I'm proud to say I dined there.
Excellent food and service in a covid controlled environment. It's BYOB and that's a plus.
Would not hesitate recommending Barley Sheaf to anyone who enjoys a well prepared meal served by an outstanding wait staff
Great night, owners are fabulous hosts, service was terrific and food was top notch.
There are two rooms in the restaurant, one of which has many tables and views of the garden as well as an open kitchen, and is entertaining to be in. There is another room that is part of the main house which is small, quiet, and nicely decorated, good for a romantic dinner. That is where we were seated. The dining staff should ask which room their patrons wish to be in, and that was not the case. I love my husband, but after coming out of a year lockdown, the last thing I wanted was to be sitting in a quiet room.
Buddy - thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed dinner. In regards to seating, on Fridays/Saturdays - we cannot provide options given how busy the restaurant is on those nights - it is much easier to provide options on weekdays. Also, for that evening you were here - the plan was to have all seating outside on the patio - but given the high winds, we provided limited (given COVID restrictions) seating indoors. Thanks again!
Barley Sheaf is such a wonderful place to go especially for a special occasion. They go out of their way to do all they can to make everything to your satisfaction. The treats at the end of the meal could substitute for dessert but don't deny yourself if there is something tempting on the menu. You won't be disappointed!
It was amazing! What a gem. We loved the food and ambiance and finally, the time out to dinner with friends.
It was nice to be back for brunch and to be welcomed with a personal greeting! It was a beautiful day so it was a shame we could not be seated outside, but the inside was appropriately socially distanced inside and our lovely server was happy to adjust the air conditioning in the warm sunshine. We were spoilt for choice on the menu and again we appreciate the flexibility of moving our savory choices from the 3rd course to the second course and let us eat the decadent cinnamon Brioche French Toast for our 3rd course and yes there was still dessert, which my friend and I could not finish and took home for later with the remaining baked goods and the delicious parting gift of homemade donuts. The Mahi Mahi and the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon were excellently prepared. We cannot wait to return to this lovely setting and enjoy another brunch or dinner.
One of my favorite restaurants in Bucks -- probably the best in Bucks.
Meal was delicious. Cant wait to try again.
Mark and Deena continue to serve some of the best, if not the plates in Bucks County. We dined in the barn and it was a wonderful setting with the beautiful grounds outside every window. We can’t wait to come back and sit out back on the patio!
We were disappointed with the food. Maybe the very limited menu is due to the pandemic? I ordered the very bland halibut with some sort of muddy sauce that was inedible. It came with mushrooms and no other vegetables. My husband's duck was a little better but I don't care for sweet sauces. I told the waitress I didn't like my entree and she was so concerned and offered to get me something else. In retrospect, I should have taken her up on it but hate to be waiting while my husband would be finishing his meal and then have to eat mine alone. I note that others found the halibut to be bland so why not just fix the entree? Plus the other entree choices weren't that inviting. Lamb neck?? For an appetizer I had the carrot soup which had a lot of overpowering garnish that made it seem like eating a sea of seeds. Gotta say that was disappointing too. The chocolate pudding cake was very good. In all, it was a very pricey meal for what we got. The service was good. The waitress and host were very attentive. Maybe the subpar food was due to the pandemic?
The setting is so incredible with a gorgeous tree-lined drive but I'm not so crazy with the cluttered look of the living room we entered to get to the restaurant. The first thing you see when you walk in is a tiny bathroom with the door opened.
I had been so excited about trying the place out as it's a hallmark setting in Bucks County. So sad that it wasn't better.
Very nice, ambiance a little sparse due to COVID, but definitely a redo. Thanks
Getting together with friends
Brilliant setting! Smart to have moved the restaurant into the barn. Above and beyond covid compliant. Felt very safe. Food, as usual, was superb. Staff always pleasant and helpful...especially when describing the menu.
So many restaurants to choose from in our area though few that serve such creative and brilliantly prepared choices.
I left a $55 cash tip on a $220 bill forgetting that an 18% gratuity was included in the total. My bad as it is clearly stated on the menu. Oh well, it was worth it!
Thanks to the owners and staff for always providing a very pleasurable (and yummy) visit! Looking forward to brunch on the 28th ...5th visit this month!
Beautiful setting exceptional food wonderful service!
The food and service was outstanding! It is in a great location and has a tremendous atmosphere.
Delicious and elegant as always! One of our favorite gourmet restaurants! The dishes are unique combinations. A very creative chef! Our complements to him! The menu changes often, so every dining experience is different which we enjoy.
Well done by the staff and very friendly; thankful they are open
First time there and unfortunately due to covid dinner was in barn. Was nice but really wanted to eat at the Inn. We will just have to go back. Food was amazing.
The absolute best all around, food, service, atmosphere.
Its always one of the best bunches in the area. The property is beautiful, the food is amazing, the staff are always just the right amount of attentive without being over bearing. Always a fantastic experience, with zero negatives. Don't forget you can bring your own booze, and you should! Gratuity is always included, but I always give some extra because they do such a wonderful job.
We can never say enough about how Mark & Dina have adapted dining at Barley Sheaf to keep everyone comfortable. Our meals were excellent as usual and we dined in their large barn used for weddings. Spaced out and decorated to make it more appealing. We can't wait to get back into the mansion dinin room. Our thanks to the staff for always providing a nice experience.
Not worth reviewing.........................................!
