My wife and I went to Indochine for our date night we loved it. They have Great food, good atmosphere, it’s a little dark, but we will be returning.
It is a beautiful restaurant...some of the attitudes of the staff, not so beautiful. There was no one focused on receiving guests when we arrived, which seemed odd. During our drink service, our waiter thought it was appropriate to correct my wife's mispronunciation of a wine term...not even politely...just made the correction. Next, bring a glass with my beer bottle...I am not in a pub (the check definitely proved that statement). The sad thing, everyone in our family felt ill after the meal. I am not sure what caused it, if it was a reaction to something specific, or what...but that has never happened to us before and we have traveled and eaten abroad in many different countries and venues. Extremely disappointing for a birthday meal.
First time at this establishment. We were VERY pleased with the entire experience. The food was great and the service was outstanding. The kitchen somehow missed our appetizer order and when we pointed this out to our waiter he immediately brought us the appetizer AND offered us a free dessert for our inconvenience. We will definitely be back.
I'm being a bit harsh in my rating despite enjoying our evening there. The main issue we had is that the restaurant claims they can make most dishes vegan but unfortunately they make everything in the same wok as all the non-vegan stuff. If you're vegan and contamination is a concern then you might want to stay away since your only option would be a salad, which is what my wife settled for. I just dealt with it and veganized the jungle curry, which I have to say was pretty good.
I also want to compliment the wait staff. My wife re-ordered a drink she liked but the second time it tasted different. We asked about it and they ended up replacing it at no charge. We were also provided a complimentary vegan dessert, which was good.
Very good service and atmosphere, but food did not meet expected quality for price point. Cocktails were great!
I ate at Indochine 5 years ago and the food was amazing. It was my anniversary this weekend and I was excited to eat there again. Unfortunately, my husband’s fried rice was just mediocre and my Singapore noodles wasn’t edible. Our waiter was fabulous however and didn’t charge for my entree.
Food was good: great presentation, average taste. Appetizers are overpriced.
Owner is nervous wreck can't handle simple situations. Terrible service. Food not the best
This was our first time here. We were seated right away and the server was there in no time. Food came out quickly and we all had dishes that were very well seasoned and as hot as we wanted it. Bonus points for making one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had!
I was hosting a party of fourteen colleagues and wanted to show them what Tacoma had to offer. I was embarrassed by the poor service we received. The gentleman server was always in a hurry and skipped over people when taking orders, more than once. He was very busy elsewhere and did not return to our table for thirty minutes after taking half of our drink and appetizer orders. After taking the remainder of those orders, he left for another twenty minutes. The wait staff that brought our drinks and appetizers was not our server. One of my colleagues never received the drink she ordered, but she was charged for it on her final bill. When he did return to take our dinner orders, we had been there about forty-five minutes. It took another thirty minutes for our food to be delivered. Again, he did not deliver our food to the table, nor did he come to check to see that everything was ok with our food. One of my colleagues did not receive her food and everyone at our table shared with her so she would have something to eat since we all received our food. Approximately fifteen minutes passed, after receiving our food, until our server came by. We informed him that one of our colleagues was still waiting on her food. He went to check on it and promptly returned with a plate of cold food that had been left in the window. When she discovered it was cold, he took it away, but never apologized or offered any excuse for this service. He quickly returned with our checks without asking if we wanted/needed anything else. Another wait staff came to collect our checks and yet another wait staff brought them back to us. To say the least, I will not recommend Indochine Asian Dining Lounge on Pacific Ave in Tacoma to anyone and will not be taking the international conference, we were planning during this dinner, to the restaurant either.

Indochine is my new favorite place for dinner. The food is amazing and the servers are best around. They are sound friendly and helpful and are around just enough without being bothersome.
Meal and service started off great and ended poorly. Appetizers and beverages were as delightful as our server. Then our food came. I asked for "no stars" for spicy-hot level and ended with more spices than our friends who ordered 4-stars. The young man who delivered food offered to return it to the kitchen. (Declined...have heard bad stories.) I could have managed but our server was then nowhere to be found. Water glasses sat empty and no one checked back with us. We eventually flagged down another server to get our checks and pay out before the 2-hour street parking limit.
The back room we sat in is not as decorated as the main restaurant and loses the feel of the fire and dark setting of the rest of the restaurant. It was just tables all along the 4 walls of the room.
Great food and nice ambiance!
Nice evening overall. Service was great, fish (snapper) was overcooked, tiki Marsala and pad Thai were very good.
It was good. The problem it’s the location. The parking lot.
Love this place. Beautiful, great food and service.
we had reservations and waited 25 minutes to even see a server. then we ordered, it took another 25 minutes to get our drinks. The drinks were drastically overpriced, even for not having all we requested... and still being charged. The food was good, but didn't taste right with the lack of service. we mentioned and it was not addressed. We will only order take out from this restaurant.
Fabulous dinner! Our only complaint was the spiciness of the food. The noodle dish that we ordered 2 stars was more like 4 or 5 stars! The 3 stars dish was on the mild side!
Best cocktails ever! Totally recommend the crab wontons.
The place has become rather rundown. Curtains torn, furniture worn. Table was dirty had to ask for them to wipe up food smeared from previous guests. 4 shrimp in a 12 dollar bowl of spicy shrimp broth soup. A bit disappointing overall.
It was good, but not excellent like it used to be. Over the past two years it has not been as tasty overall.
Our service was fine, but our overall experience was degraded by the fact other diners around us weren't getting their meals timely (they had a different server). When we arrived a table near us was ordering and explaining they had a time constraint as they were going to the theater. By the time we had finished our meal and were leaving (after drinks, appetizer and entrees), that table still had not received their food. Others had also not yet been served. This was our first visit, and while the food was delicious and the portions generous, it makes me a little hesitant to return.
Have dined there several times in the past-was always excellent! NOT THIS TIME. Our very young server was inattentive to say the least. We ended up bussing our own tables. Besides that- we are all 65+ years old- his arrogance showed thru when he insisted on checking our ids for alcohol service.
I also requested a table by the water feature because we had six people- missed that one too. We sat at a cramped table elbow to elbow.
Our visit to Indochine was wonderful. We came here for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday and we were treated beautifully...even gave a free desert which was totally unexpected!
The service, the ambiance and food were all outstanding. No question that we will return to this delightful restaurant.
Went here for our date night & to celebrate our one year & it was very class and food was amazing
Food is excellent and great service. If there’s an issue they’re very good to correct it and make things right.
Late night dinner and were not disappointed. Great drinks. Appetizers and entrees. Very tasty and good sized portions.
Wonderful food and great service!!! We went there prior to the Jonas Brothers concert and they even played JoBros music! It really made the entire night a really fun time!
Always a great experience!
The atmosphere is lovely and the food is always delicious. Our friends from Victoria BC love to dine there also; we go everytime they come down.
Fantastic food, great ambiance, just a bit expensive. Two entrées, two drinks $105.00
We have recommended you to a few friends already. We will return. Your portions are so generous that we must either be very hungry or be prepared to take home a to-go box.
3 couples. Large booth. Great food and service. Fun night out with friends. Recommended.
I enjoy the decor, however, the wait staff were not very attentive, we were served food and had to ask for utensils, napkins and chopsticks.
There were no seasonings or condiments available.
I had Orange Chicken that was completely without flavor and the pieces were 2 to 3 times larger than they should have been which is difficult to deal with when there’s no knife and fork.
This was a first date for me, I was very disappointed in the restaurant. I won’t be recommending or returning.
Our visit was for a pre-concert dinner. We were seated promptly at our reserved time and had a fabulous meal.
From the beginning, the hostess was so busy doing a to-go order that she didn't acknowledge us for a good 5 minutes. Tight in front of her. No eye contact, no be right with you. We sat down by the pond which is nice, server got drink orders but literally took off after taking 2 of 3 possible orders, and didn't ask for an appetizer order... she came back, tried to drop drinks and dash off but I turned and stopped her so we could order some apps. She was nice but obvious in a rush to be everywhere it seemed. She said no problem then dashed off before my wife could get her drink order in...Dropped the spring rolls and coconut soup and I asked for peanut sauce, (which wasnt anything to rave about) and that took long enough, seeing her taking two new table orders, that I flagged another girl and asked her for some. Our server seemed over extended taking tables all over the restaurant. My son, often a good eater, hardly touched his mango chicken rice dish. It was pretty uninspired and lacked flavor. It ended up in the trash at home. Beef salad... really kinda meh. Would've said something but the server was all over the place, rarely tableside, and we just wanted to have a nice dinner without being crabby. But really, $79.61 later... I've been unimpressed with this place before and tonight reaffirmed it's not worth it. The ambience is beautiful but everything else has much to be desired. Especially the food. The menu seems to have shrunk and not one item stands out. Check # 547503.
Very good menu. Excellent food. Outstanding service. I would prefer different background music, no music or lower volume. Overall, very enjoyable and highly recommended.
