Indian Accent's menu reinterprets nostalgic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Chef Manish Mehrotra highlights distinctly Indian flavors on a contemporary menu.
To respect the dining experiences of all our guests we practice a restricted entrance policy, only allowing children aged 10 years and above
The service was flawless and the food was divine. We will absolutely be back.
Excellent! Always a pleasure to dine here. The food is excellent and the service and attention to detail is even better.
beautiful service and presentation. The dumplings were a little disappointing however
I can’t find anything like this food anywhere else in the city. Love this place.
Exceptional cuisine and Service. A fabulous wine list.
The brunch feast never disappoints. The most unique, quality brunch in NYC!
We had a terrible experience at Indian accent. We had a 12 PM brunch reservation for 4 people. We were presented the menu and we chose the "Brunch Feast". Now, 2 of us were vegetarians, while the other 2 were not. The feast menu required us to make choices and many of the choices were between vegetarian / meat dishes. When we requested (given our dietary restrictions) to accommodate us by giving us dishes based on our dietary preferences, the servers flatly refused to accommodate. Nevertheless, we decided to go ahead with vegetarian choices (because it would have severely restricted the variety) for half the group. There was also an omelete curry (which on menu said had shrimp), but the server who took the order from us informed that they would give us a non-shrimp version. Since, we were not being accommodated with the meat dishes for the feast, we decided to order something else on the side. Now, apart from the above mentioned refusal to accommodate us, several things happened which made our experience terrible.
a) The side dish of chicken that we ordered never came
b) The omelette curry never came. When we inquired about it later with another server, he said they don't do any non-shrimp version of the curry as part of the feast. When we told him that the server who took the order from us had told us otherwise, he simply denied. Moreover, even after that the omelette curry never came (it was part of the feast menu).
c) The brunch feast is supposed to enable us to order unlimited courses of any dish. We wanted to try the desserts first before the meal. When we asked them to bring us the desserts first, they refused
All these things, combined with the way the server staff spoke to us made our experience terrible for 4 star restaurant. I must admit the food was good (as a vegetarian), however my friends who ate meat felt a bit disappointed given they could not try out any meat dishes
Indian food is much better than what I experienced .
Impeccable dining experience.
Best dining experience I’ve ever had in nyc! The food, ambiance and service was incredible.
We really enjoyed everything about this restaurant from the very tasty but spicy food to the professional and friendly service to the stark appearance. The seating was spacious. The wine sommelier was very helpful
This is our favorite place for excellent Indian cuisine and phenomenal service. Highly recommend this restaurant
Very poor. They missed a couple of dishes and never brought that out. It was also a Special occasion that was not acknowledged. Called about it, and was promised a return call which never happened.
It’s a shame because we have been there over 10 times. This experience unfortunately has ended that streak for good.
The food was great but the service could have been better. Our favorite were the main course kulchas and desserts. The food could have been little hotter ( temp wise)
Interior was very minimalistic. Didn’t feel upscale given the cost. Didn’t pay attention that only a fixed price menu was offered. Food was creative and decent but not outstanding. Not compelled to return.
Amazing everything. Staff was amazing in every way. Will definitely be back whenever in nyc
El maridaje de vino deja mucho que desear. Con pescado nos dieron vino tinto🤦🏻♂️
Had a perfect meal here. Great service, amazing food, and inventive menus. Truly want to go back already!
Food was great but less quantity! .
This is the best Indian meal you can find in this city. It’s consistently excellent and the service is just right. I also appreciate the fact that they offer soft cocktails for non-alcohol drinkers. Their offerings are tasty and inventive. This is one of my favorite places to eat in New York.
Our overall experience was great. All the staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive.
The food was excellent, except the daal which had too much tomato in it. We had come with two tweens and I was disappointed that they also had to order fixed price dinner menu.
Just fantastic. The attitude of servers and the food are exceptional!
The food was truly excellent and everything came out very quickly. This restaurant instantly became one of our favorites!
I wish this restaurant had maintained their service standards throughout the meal. If they had, this review would be MUCH better. But they didn't, and made only a token effort to correct their negligence. So, the specifics: We each had enjoyed a glass of wine with the complimentary amuse bouche/appetizer offerings. I requested a second glass when the waitress delivered my main course. The wine did not come throughout the remainder of the meal, despite requesting it twice more. Finally, the waitress said she had told the "manager" that the wine didn't come, and that he would be "right over" to address the problem. He did not come at all until we had finished the meal, the dishes were removed, and we had requested the check. At that time, he brought the requested wine and said he would give us a glass, then remove it from the bill. In all, it was over 25 minutes from the initial request until he arrived -- and by then, we were preparing to leave and had finished eating, so we declined the additional glass. Then the check came. It was for the full order. They did not make any attempt to compensate for the poor service. They should have made one of the original two glasses complimentary, or otherwise accommodated us. Moments later, the waitress came with the same bottle and tried to give us another glass -- but we already had given our credit card and were ready to leave. We expected better service at a restaurant of this quality and expense. People make mistakes, but the lack of appropriate response was not acceptable. It is unfortunate that this experience tainted the entire meal that otherwise would get a very positive rating. From our view, the failure here belongs to the "manager", not the staff who were wonderful throughout the rest of the meal.
Overall, the food was very good, with subtle blend of flavors. Not worth the price, however, as some dishes were overwhelmed by the sauces. We wanted this to be excellent, but we likely will not return.
Amazing and creative! Loved it!!
Amazing place and food. 100% recommended
Indian Accent remains my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The food is amazing, the service out of this world. You can have a conversation with your party without having to shout. Love it!
Ambiente informale ma estremamente elegante. Cucina indiana non stereotipata e con materie prime di altissima qualità. Conto non eccessivo se paragonato alla città
It’s our favorite restaurant in NYC
The server was not good. He only wanted to push another course on us.
The menu has not changed for a long time and is not seasonal.
We were surprised at how elegant Indian Accent was, as the photo online did not do the restaurant the justice it deserved.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, although a bit pricey we will be going back.
Had a great meal in Dec 19 prior to Carnegie Hall show. Did 3 course special with wine pairings. Food was exceptional. Very interesting combinations. Wine pairings included unusual and unfamiliar wines that worked really well with the food. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and explained the wines really well. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but the three course meal was more than enough food. Great dining experience.
Fantastic from start to finish. Warm and friendly staff. Great ambiance. 10/10 food. Will return in the future.
great place for special occasion.
cant wait to go back and try their chef's tasting menu.
We had a good experience overall but found a few flaws. The menu is quite complicated to navigate and we felt a bit intimidated by the manager explaining it to us since it felt a little condescending. The staff overall was responsive and friendly and the food was unique. With three vegetarians, the menu is slightly limited but not to the extent you would not be able to enjoy a full meal. The food is well presented and the staff even provided a small dessert to celebrate a birthday. We will definitely be better prepared the next time we visit.
Absolutely fantastic, delectable, affordable, fantastic service. SO much love goes into the food prep and everything explodes with flavor. Highly recommend!
The weekend brunch was long one of my favorites. They have unfortunately changed it, in certain ways with no loss. The brunch used to provide more dishes, including the herb sago pancake, which is now nowhere on the menu. That was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. I am flabbergasted that they removed it. At any rate, the a la carte menu offers a lot of choice. The steelhead trout which has replaced the salmon was delicious, as was a new chicken dish. The raita was too sweet and the dal was lackluster. Dishes were as beautiful as usual. And the barfi treacle tart with vanilla ice cream was as good as usual. Service was a little less attentive than usual but very pleasant and competent. It is possible to have a conversation with one's table mates - always a plus. Overall, still worth a visit.
Seriously I would eat here everyday it’s that good.
