Indian Accent's menu reinterprets nostalgic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Chef Manish Mehrotra highlights distinctly Indian flavors on a contemporary menu.
To respect the dining experiences of all our guests we practice a restricted entrance policy, only allowing children aged 10 years and above
AMAZING. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Can’t wait to come up with any excuse to come back.
Excellent food and friendly/knowledgeable service. Deserves a Michelin Star.
Service esa poor, the captain was pushing to order and forced to order according to house rules rather than trying to accommodate party requests
Food was amazing and the service was warm and professional.
The food is incredible. I tasted 9 dishes and non of them tasted below amazing. BUT the interior of the restaurant is so boring that I would never want to celebrate my special days here. Especially the larger room at the back gives a very uninteresting, dull impression. You know when your opinion is asked about restaurants, by people you want to impress; I can’t confidently suggest “Indian Accent” in that situation because of the lack of taste in decoration and the atmosphere. But again, the food is the complete opposite of the decoration, it’s incredible and full of culture.
Couldn’t have had a better time and left wondering why it had been so long since we’d been in. Continues to be one of the best values in NYC and also has one of the strongest beverage programs in the city. Such a pleasure!
I love this restaurant. I’ve eaten here on each visit to NYC and also their London restaurant.
Service was great and food was very good.
Too fancy and you feel like you need to put on a smile.
Really good service, great food, highly recommend
I heard heard great things about the place. But was quite disappointed. The service was terrible. Vegetarian and nonvegetarian food was all mixed up. The menu was not explained properly. Nobody bothered to refill the water glasses or clean the tables like they should in a Michelin star restaurant. Only saving grace was when the manager came out and apologized and comped us for one round of drinks.
We LOVE this restaurant and highly recommend it to all our friends. Food is always interesting and delicious and the staff could not be more professional. I would eat here every day!!
The food here is exceptional. The use of spices so creative and delicate. Each flavor comes through. A wonderful experience!
Fabulous from start to finish. Wine pairings impressive
First, the food is amazing.
The service was subpar (especially for a meal of that cost, imho).
I went with my girlfriend around 10:00 PM (we had just come from a play and were really excited to try the restaurant).
We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. However, we then waited an extraordinarily long time for a server to even speak to us or acknowledge us at all (15+ minutes). In fact, after asking if we could just order our drinks from the individual who by then had poured our third glass of water, eventually, we also had to ask the same individual pouring water why we had not had a server come to our table yet because we were getting so hungry.
Then, our cocktails were not brought to us both a really long time after we were seated and a really long time after we had ordered them. It was not crowded nor was it busy. However, there was a large amt of wait staff working. I don’t understand what the problem was. But it felt like we were an afterthought or “not important enough” for them to pay attention to us, for sure, because I watched other tables around us that were seemingly barraged with waitstaff, food, and drinks.
After we complained about the fact that we had still not gotten our drinks for so long (which would not have been such a big deal in and off itself, but was compounded by the total lack of service we had received since sitting down while tables seated after us appeared to have cocktails and food long before we were even able to order our drinks, much less our food), the manager comped our first round of drinks (which by then, had come with our second course of the meal). It was a nice gesture, but also appropriate considering the ridiculous wait. From that point forward, however, the service did also improve and was good.
Again, the food was so creatively-plated, well-executed, and all-around was wonderful.
In sum, I would go back and just hope the service we received this time was an anomaly and would be better next time.
The service was just fantastic, as was the food. Four courses and out in time for our show!
Staff were very knowledgeable and could make recommendations.
Lunch is a good value relative to dinner. Food and service are always exemplary whether for lunch or dinner.
So tasty and delicious.
Food flavors and taste were excellent.
In a fine dining restaurant one does not expect to be forced to use hands to eat- Food was too bony and hard to eat.
Crab claws- a struggle to get meat out- shell had not been cracked properly and when I requested for it , I was told to use my hands
lamb chops-too bony
chicken - had big bones.
Restaurant was a bit loud.
service could be better - wait er was not attentive - had to ask for silverware, side plates , and again a fork spoon or knife for each course.
Need to step up overall service
Our first time here
Nothing prepared us for the experience
The presentation was outstanding and the tastes were unlike anything we had experienced before
The chat and chutneys were just amazing
Kudos to the chef
On the other hand, service was very slow
Sometimes it felt we had been forgotten about
The fenugreek chicken was somewhat dry, but still flavorful
Dessert was fabulous too
Tasting menu food was awesome but the pace needs to be slower ...the food was coming by very quickly.
This extraordinary Indian restaurant would deserve at least a one star with Michelin. The food is carefully and artistically prepared and is like no The tasting menus other Indian restaurant I have been to here in the US. The tasting menus have an extraordinary range of preparations to satisfy every appetite.
The service is attentive and helpful in explaining the variations in the dishes.
The cocktail menu is also creative.
Revised menu, with interesting new dishes. Tasting menu is outstanding. Attentive service. An exceptional Mid-Town restaurant.
Amazing food, delicious!! The service was exceptional and great! This is a must in your visit to NYC.
The experience that we received food, drinks, service etc is always one of the best in New York. I have been so many times it’s better again and again!
Keep up the good work!!
Anniversary. Excellent food. Great service.
We're big fans and try to get to Indian Accent several times a year!
Very competent chef and delicious food though some of the preparations and flavorings were a bit repetitive. For example, three items we chose came as a pairing of two “balls” in a sauce. Expensive but New York midtown real estate drives a lot of that. Very good and fun. Some good red wine options for spicy food too.
Service is pretty terrible. It took 2.5 hrs for two courses to come out during a weekday lunch. I like the food but just terrible kitchen and service management.
The entire dining experience is outstanding. I live in Oregon and it is my second time having dinner there. If I'm back in New York I will find my way there again! The flavors of the food are delightful and the service is over the top wonderful
Just AWESOME, this is not a "pick your protein and sauce" kind of Indian. Come prepared with an open mind to explore some original interpretations and flavor combinations. This is a gastronomic journey for foodies ...
Amazing! Great experience
The food was amazing, great service
Very slow service/ chefs tasting menu took 3.5 hours
The food and service was outstanding. Really loved the creativity involved. The overall time it took was a bit high but good in the end, as it required 10 courses (Chef's menu) to be consumed
Most interesting Indian food I’ve ever had! Great service too. Highly recommend to anyone unless they are looking for a romantic night. Too loud and too much going on for that. Not that it was too loud, just not a romantic atmosphere.
Third time here. This is the only restaurant in New York that I would proudly introduce my friends to for a fancy night out.
Super, cordial, yet polite service at every level. Loved the creative menus, its presentation, most of all its taste.
Amazing experience. Definitely recommend
