Indian Accent's menu reinterprets nostalgic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Chef Manish Mehrotra highlights distinctly Indian flavors on a contemporary menu.
To respect the dining experiences of all our guests we practice a restricted entrance policy, only allowing children aged 10 years and above
We learned about this restaurant from work colleagues of our son who are from India and told him that this was the best Indian restaurant in NYC. So I booked reservations for my wife’s birthday we went to eat an early dinner after seeing the Broadway musical Beautiful. It is a 17 minute walk from the theater so we opted to take a bicycle/cart taxi which was wonderful and much faster than and Uber.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a clean, crisp, modern and elegant look. The restaurant was very accommodating when we arrived an hour before our reservations due to poor planning on my part. Every course was meticulously prepared and looked as great as it tasted. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be sure to return.
Fabulous evening with excellent service and food. We decided to do the chefs menu. Every course was just delicious and the service impeccable.
While very expensive, it was well worth the price. Excellent service and the food was some of the most unique and best my wife and I have had. Very enjoyable evening
Food was fantastic and the service was incredible! Some of the menu items truly blew me away, but I expected more variety on the menu. Definitely would recommend.
Indian Accent is one of my favorite restaurants to take company when they visit. The food and service are always outstanding and the experience never disappoints.
Indian Accent gives traditional Indian fare an artistic, modern twist. The tasting menu was superb from beginning to end. The presentation of each course was very creative.
Excellent food and superior service.
Best Indian food I’ve had. Service was second to none. A not to miss restaurant in NYC
Food is not worth the cost. There are much better alternatives nearby.
Worth going to once but would not repeat unless in the area. Service and presentation excellent but food flavors not great. Had expected a "wow" factor in taste.
Superlative. Exquisite. Rare and magnificent. Do not miss this restaurant. Every dish was at once singular and easy to like. We ordered the tasting menu and were begging for more. The presentation of the food was exceptionally beautiful, and the service was careful but relaxed.
Been wanting to try Chef Manish’s food for almost 6 years. This was a good experience but probably won’t go back again.
Noveau meets indian for awesome dining experience.
We love Indian food and heard good things about Indian Accent. The service was phenomenal. The food was delicious but not outstandingly enough over other good Indian restaurants to justify the price.
Excellent food and service! We are never disappointed when we eat here!
Wine and cocktail arrived after the first dish served ?
Indian food with too much variation.
second time eating here and it didn't disappoint. tantalizing flavours, melt-in-your mouth meats, unusual takes on traditional pan-indian cuisine that all work well, lovely ambience. it is expensive to eat here but worth the money. i would visit on every trip to nyc!
Loved the whole experience, seeing the presentation and the taste of each dish was outstanding! Thank you for this amazing dinner and I hope in the future to see Indian Accent open up in Arizona.
Great food, service and ambiance. I love the 10 course chef menu. Must try Indian restaurant.
I was really looking forward to trying this place while visiting NYC. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We did the chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing. The food, with exception of a few dishes, were just okay. For $500 dinner for two, “okay” is not acceptable. The wines were the best part we thought and the cod dish was the only dish to write home about. It doesn’t compare to Dosa in San Francisco. Nothing was bad but for that price, I expect amazing!
Veeerrrrryyyyy sllloooooowwwww. Sadly. I was embarrassed to have invited my guests here. People who arrived after us were fed before us. It wasn’t the server but the kitchen. The manager said he would adjust our bill because of our wait and that translated to two free drinks for a party of four. Flavors were excellent but the time it took was unacceptable. This is New York. We are not in India for gods sake.
I have had food at India accent number of times. Somehow I feel the service they give to someone who does chef’s tasting v/s someone who takes 3/4 course meal is very different.
Amazing experience here again. Service is impeccable. Sommelier extremely helpful. THE MOST WONDERFUL INDIAN FOOD. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Fantastic restaurant, bold flavors, wonderful amuse bouche to start, flawless service.
An adventure in eating. We were not familiar with the dishes but our waiter was wonderful in explaining them and making recommendations. Food taste and presentation were wonderful. Seasoning made the dishes complex. A nice amount of heat. Clean and simple upscale decor.
Enjoyed a pre-theater Chiefs Tasting Menu. Was about a 2 hour experience although they said thy could serve it in as little as an hour and a half. We very much enjoyed each and every one of the 10 courses. We particularly loved the elevated Indian "street food". Service, atmosphere, and food was just spot on. Felt like a great value too for NYC fine dining. Highly recommend.
For most lovers of Indian food, this will be a new experience. Polished and professional welcome and service and unique, excellent food.
Being born and raised in India, I’ve always been a purist when it comes to Indian food, always preferring the “real” thing as opposed to fusion food. I went at my wife’s urging and have to admit I had an excellent food experience at Indian Accent. Creatively conceived dishes, authentic flavors and food combined into great taste experiences. Every dish was unique and interesting and very enjoyable. Excellent service by knowledgeable servers. Will definitely be back - thanks!
My husband and I just returned from enjoying the 8 course tasting menu at lunchtime. We travel a lot and enjoy eating food from many cultures. He is a meat lover and I am pescatarian with a preference for vegetarian food. What we experienced at Indian Accent, was probably one of most exceptional dining experiences we have ever had! From the clean, minimalist decor, to the genius serving vessels and plating, to the attentive service of a crew of elegant waitstaff, this restaurant has it all. And the food? Sheer heaven! While it is clearly Indian inspired food, there are elements of surprise, such as tiny bite sized blue cheese naan or the mustard sauce with a kick of horseradish and lemon served with the overstuffed kulcha. I could write pages about this place, but just GO! I must, recommend trying one of the many creative cocktails. I enjoyed the Pisco Rising, a combination of chamomile pisco, almond liquor and lemongrass bitters so much, that my husband "made " me order a second. Every element of every dish made sense in its way of maximizing the star of the dish and was gorgeously presented. Having had the experience of dining at Indian Accent was an experience we will not forget and hope to repeat!
Indian Accent was a perfect choice for celebrating my birthday while in New York. It’s a splurge, but well worth it for 2 1/2 hours of culinary fun!! Staff was outstanding and restaurant beautiful. We’ll return when in New York next time.
Not typical selections that are served in most Indian restaurants. So quite interesting. Large portions. Many selections are quite hot/spicy.
I love Indian Accent but was not impressed with the service. I took my dad there for Father's day and it took 5 people to ask me the same question about why we were not eating. I said we are waiting for more Rotis. They would go in the back and come back with nothing. It got so frustrating waiting.
Elegant. Special. Beautiful French-inspired presentation.
I have heard about this restaurant for over a year now from many people who had recommended it. Finally I had the privilege to go there myself. I was very excited to go there and was really impressed with the overall experience. The food was phenomenal and the service top notch. The place is but pricey but it was well worth it. Personally as being cost conscious i am totally happy to pay for what i strongly believe is worth it.
Truly exceptional food and service. Delicious
Ok, we had 1 hour and 35 minutes to eat which seemed a shame for a restaurant with this reputation. 1 hour 25 mins later we left after 1 hour and 25 minutes of gastronomic ecstacy, not to mention 8 courses. Not sure this is fully fledged Indian food - truffles, caviar and langoustine are not common in India but .. who cares? Mind blowing food with an Indian Accent!
Always impressed by it’s innovative menu but service at times falls flat, this is our 4th time here, we come back for the food, service I’d say had been inconsistent.
Came for a dinner here with my wife & mom. Fabulous experience...Went for the chef’s tasting menu, and it was truly a sumptuous meal. Loved it.
This was our fifth (lucky us) visit to Indian Accent. This is one on NYC's most exceptional restaurants.
