It was a great evening out! You can tell pasta is homemade and amazing!! Service was wonderful as well
The bucatini did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic.
We ordered an appetizer that never came, and asked fir and pepper twice and never got it.. Overall food was good as usual!
Great place with excellent menu. Adam is just terrific.
IL Poggiolo is always consistent and best food ever. Even their Manhattans are done perfectly! Absolutely love this place!
Arrived when the restaurant was very busy on a Sunday evening and the noise was really severe. We decided to stay and ended up with a terrific meal and great service from our waiter who was sensitive to our requests. The trout was wonderful and the mashed potatoes were exactly as one would want. The asparagus was fresh and perfectly cooked, not solid/hard-cooked which is typically the case in many restaurants. The caesar salad was fresh and grilled octopus was perfect. Even the fresh bread was above what many restaurants off. About midway through our meal the noise had diminished. The dinner and the great service made it a wonderful way to close the weeke....and the creme brulee was outstanding
Food was fantastic. We were there early on a Saturday, 5:30 so it was family friendly. I would think later in the evening would be a better time for couples. We shared a salad and each had an entree, but only ate half and then had room to share a dessert. We are seniors so that was plenty of food, and still brought home a full meal. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food all made from scratch in house and priced fairly. Our server, Heather, was incredible and brought our experience to another level.
Jewel of a spot in the western 'burbs! Didnt get the name til i walked in the door... everything about this place is spot-on! The carpaccio is a don't-miss! Perfect.
Outstanding food and great service in a quaint, intimate setting. We will definitely be back.
I always enjoy my dinner experience at Il Poggiolo! The food is always tasty and the service is excellent. I highly recommend il Poggiolo to couples and families.
Everyone is so kind and welcoming.
The food is constantly hot and delicious.
Wasn’t a big fan of the crabmeat/avocado small plate, not lump crab at all in my opinion. All main course dishes were great...halibut, white fish, gnocchi and shrimp/lobster pasta.
We sat outside so noise was no an issue; they were out of ravioli primavera so one of our friends had to change entrees; wrong wine was delivered but the additional cost was comp'd. overall, a good experience.
Food was delicious! Waitress knew everything about the food and liquor. Was very helpful.
We arrived at 6PM slowly the restaurant filled up......food as usual was delicious. Ambiance as well. We will dine here again.
I took my family there for the first time and they really loved it especially my granddaughter. Who said, Poppa we have to come back I really like it here. Only downfall was that my grandson had a reaction to the Capers which he had never tried before. But all is good and we will certainly dine there again. Bon appetit.
We all thought that the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We had a very attentive waiter and all five of us said that we would return at another time. The upstairs looked great for a special party.
Great server recommendation on wine; halibut was perfect and generous portion.
Heather is the best server and the food is always phenomenal! We have enjoyed every experience we have had there...
Staff was overwhelmed by our table of 14. Meals arrived at different times, forgot one meal entirely. Ordered salad for entire table but only enough for 4 people arrived. As the hostess of the table, I was constantly going to find staff to take care of things. It was kind of nerve-wracking for me.
Food was excellent. I will come here again but I will not take a group here again.
This is my lady’s favorite restaurant. The service is always impeccable. Didn’t know they had outside seating so might try that out next time. Amazing food.
Good food and service. That’s all I ask
Food was very good.server was arrogant and pushed us to order quickly
Wonderful food, amazing homemade pasta, this place is always awesome.
It was I who suggested going to This restaurant for Father’s Day. I have a special dietary issue: I am allergic to certain oils and therefore I made very clear to the waiter that my food needed to be cooked using butter only. Otherwise within 30 to 40 minutes of dining I Become ill.
The waiter took my request and seem to understand it, but 30 to 40 minutes after I got home I had the familiar intestinal problems that result from food cooked in the wrong kind of oil for me. This is a dealbreaker so far as restaurants I go to.
I ordered the salmon with some kind of beans. In the past I have had salmon with Cannelloni (spelling?) Beans with no problem. This time the bean mixture was not the same and perhaps they were cooked in the wrong kind of oil. Wish I could resolve this as I live in Hinsdale and would come often if it is solved
Beautiful restaurant, creative cocktails and wonderful food. Everyone in our party of six enjoyed their meals. We enjoyed our evening and never felt rushed. Will definitely return to this great find in Hinsdale.
If your Italian you won't get real Italian food here, I hate when they make up there own style dishes and there nowhere near the taste or product.
Awesome meal and experience! Thank you! The lemon pepper pasta was amazing.
Good food - a little mix up on the order but the wit staff jumped through hoops to make it right
The food and service is wonderful. My only complaint is that the music is too loud.
This was my first visit to Il Poggioli. We had a table for 8 and the occasion was getting together with some old friends.
The noise level was such that it was difficult to hear others at the table.
Our waiter was ok at best. He was not friendly and not very attentive. One of our guests did not get a drink he ordered. The waiter steered us away from ordering the seafood pasta. He said it wasn’t very good. Instead he suggested the seafood risotto which two of us ordered. It was extremely disappointing. First of all, it was not risotto. It was plain rice with some peas thrown in and it was quite dry. It had absolutely no flavor. We were going to return it but my friend had already returned a drink that was not good so we decided to eat it. Others at the table said their meals were good.
Not sure I would return.
Risotto wasn’t creamy enough and had little flavor. Tomato slices in eggplant Napoleon should have been thinner since they were underripe. Pasta carbonara was too dry. Chairs are threadbare and need to be replaced. Service was very good.
Service was excellent! The food delicious and we came early so that we could enjoy with our young kids too.
excellent service. my only idsue was valet was late opening and our group was early. dexpite that very enjoyable evening. good food. very reasonable
Good local Italian restaurant in Hinsdale. The meatballs were very moist and the fresh made pasta was excellent. The sauce was a bit light for my liking. Our service was excellent!
We visited this place a few times. This was the worst experience we have ever had dining at this establishment. Restaurant was slow but it took us over 90 minutes to get our food. Once the food arrived it was not prepared properly. The Manager offered to comp us $16 for slow service. We will never ever visit this restaurant again. Manager handled the situation poorly and will cost him a few patrons.
Always top notch service and food, my wife and I choose it frequently for our date night
I was expecting more based on the reviews.
I had a halibut special that I thought was dry. The avocado and tomato and spinach accompaniment was pretty good but not enough to liven up the halibut. Service was excellent
