Hunter's Bar and Grill
Always excellent service and great food at Hunter’s!
We had not been at Hunter's for dinner previously--only for lunch a few times. It is such a great neighborhood place. The kitchen was a little slow getting food out on some things on the Saturday night we went, but the food was good for all five of us. The menu has a wide variety of choices--almost like a New Jersey diner--and that was good because all five of us have a wide variety of tastes. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to go back again soon.
Our first date after moving to Potomac. We’ll be back many times.
Great early lunch with a friend before going to the Glenstone Museum. I ordered the fried eggplant with tomato sauce, avocado, crab meat and Hollandaise. I order the Hollandaise on the side and it was just ok - I would skip it. Instead, add another fried piece of eggplant. Hey, eggplant is cheap and one piece was a little skimpy. But it tasted yummy. Good service at the outdoor tables just off the parking lot, nice homey and comfortable place!
Friendly staff, good food, great atmosphere. Will return again when in the area.
Nice to have a convenient place for outdoor dining.
Food was pretty tasteless. Half price drink didn't apply to one of our drinks, which we didn't know until the check came. Waitress forgot an item. Just all around not wonderful.
Our go to place for consistently good food. Huge maritinis. Delicious chili. Desserts could use some work--pies seem store bought.
One of the few places we have enjoyed an excellent meal and able to hear 100% of the conversation.
Always consistently great!
Great home cooked food, highly skilled bartender, terrific staff who are the best, and wonderful owners
My very highest recommendation!
Best burger in the DMV and half price on Saturdays 11-4!
Great food and ambiance
Seven adults and we got lucky. We were able to use the table in a “room” separate from the main dining room. That made the evening. Conversation was easy and private.
Food is Delicious
Service was very good
Staff is very friendly
We love Hunter's! The food and drinks are great. Fun atmosphere. Just what we wanted!
Actually the food was pretty good, but the restaurant had the feel of a place from the ‘60’s, a place maybe your parents or grandparents went to. Needs a refresh.
Out-of-town friend wanted good American comfort food. Two of us had salmon, one had eggplant. What we ate was as good as it gets of this type of food. We each had a drink (alcoholic) which did not lack for strength or flavor.
Sorry, I’ve done quite a bit of dining out in my life. This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend but I found the service to be sub par. Although the restaurant was not busy, our table was not ready for our arrival time. They had to still wipe and set the table. They seemed annoyed we had followed the hostess to the table prior to it being prepared. I ordered a salad and had to track the waiter down for cracked peppers. The food was mediocre from the pasta to the burgers. The reservation noted it was a birthday and to serve some cake at the end of the meal. I again had to track down the waiter to ask him. To their credit the cake was delicious and although just a slice they comped it. That was nice. I seriously doubt that I’ll be heading back there anytime soon.
I made a luncheon reservation for a group of six women desiring space for privacy and celebration. When we arrived we were ushered to a lovely side room which had a round table (so perfect for conversation) and was already set with dishes, napkins, glass and silverware. Our server, Melissa, was delightfully friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating to each of us. The food was really good and the experience exceeded my expectations. Thank you, Hunter’s Bar and Grill. We’ll definitely be back! 👏🤗👏
OMG on the lump crab meat appetizer!
We were unhappily seated across from the most awful group of four who were loud and RUDE! There was one woman at the table who chastised the server undeservedly. She didn’t stop throughout the very long dinner. She loudly complained about her salad. Nothing was right and she constantly and loudly let the poor server know. When she wasn’t loudly complaining to the server she wouldn’t let it go....complaining loudly to her table mates. The two men were quiet, the other woman kept leaving the table to complain to the kitchen.
This rude group really ruined our dining experience.
At one point the poor server sat down at our table and cried.
The restaurant in question....Hunters Grill in
Now to my point....our dinner was RUINED and uncomfortable, yet the other table in question was offered free drinks and a $40 discount. They wanted more but the owner said enough is enough. To us ....nothing... just discomfort and maybe a bellyache or two.
This lasted indefinitely...longer and longer. They wouldn’t get up to leave though they were definitely finished. They had more complaining to do.
The most uncomfortable dining experience of our lives!
And no photos ....I want to forget these rude and obnoxious people.
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. MELLISA WAS A GREAT SERVER.
BEST HAMBURGERSN IN POTOMAC
Way too expensive for what you get. Alright food but a $17 salad without a protein is crazy.
Great food. Our whole family loved it, young and old alike.
Three diners: salmon, seafood & pasta, cheeseburger - all very much enjoyed
Best burgers anywhere!
Good food, nice staff. Older crown, outside seating, bar area seemed lively! I had the Trout Amandine which was great. Chicken Marsala was good as well.
Great neighborhood convenience
Go on a Saturday! Half price burgers ( best in DC area!), and half price margaritas!! Yeah Bayybeee!!!
Bountiful, delicious salads! Warm, comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely return for another unhurried lunch date. Easy to have a conversation as the tables and booths are spaced well.
Great neighborhood place. Friendly with outdoor patio to take dog! Always welcoming
The noise level was low until the restaurant filled up, especially related to a large, noisy birthday party.
The same held true for service, excellent until the large party arrived.
A good place to go to enjoy dinner and be able to carry on a conversation without shouting. Very nice.
My firiends and I had a lovely time. We loved the relax atmosphere and the nice quiet room. Each of us enjoyed our luncheon salad very much along with the BBQ sandwich chosen by one of the patrons. We were surprisingly pleased with the complimentary order of the outstandingly delicious bread pudding for dessert for the birthday lady. Many thanks to HB&G for a wonderful afternoon.
We arrived on time and was immediately seated. The server was helpful and provided us with all the necessary information in order to proceed with our order.
This is a try once and then don't go back. Pretty tasteless everything. Also, much more for a senior crowd than people who are looking for good food. Staff was nice but limited number of servers. The guy busing the tables worked like crazy. "Beefsteak tomatoes" were slices of small hard grocery store tomatoes. Salad dressing had to be bottled. Might be a good place for a burger but don't go for a "dinner."
Perhaps worst experience I have had. We were celebrating a friend’s 60th Birthday. We called ahead to request a candle and that the bill be given to us. We confirmed the requests when we checked in. When the candle failed to appear and I visited the hostess, she claimed that she knew only about the check even though it was she that we spoke with when we checked in. After that, one would assume that we would get the check delivered to us. Nope. Just plopped on the table. I went to complain, and the owner came over. He shrugged his shoulders, blamed the server, and went back to his drink at the bar.
Service was attentive. We were seated immediately, even though we were 20 minutes early for our reservation. Shrimp cocktail was excellent--and included five large shrimp. My spaghetti bolognese could have used more spaghetti and was a little over-spiced. My friend's scallops were excellent, but there were only five and they were on the small side for sea scallops.
Nice neighborhood spot, good to know about if you are in the are. 1/2 price wine bottles on Tuesday night. Chicken Marsala was so-so. Caesar salad was quite good. Service was great!
