amazing place. thank you so such
We cancelled because of the Coronavirus. Both in our 80s ignore ratings.
De ambiance was top. De bediening en service was top. En het eten was van topkwaliteit. Warm aanbevolen.
They didn’t have my booking, over charged me and I am still waiting for them to respond to my call
Went here for a special meal whilst in London before going to a Westend Show!
Fab experience and service!
Thought it was good value for money and definitely would go back again!
A really disappointing experience. After booking through OpenTable there was no sign of our booking when we arrived. Luckily there was room so we were seated without issue.
As my husband has a nut allergy we have to be a little careful, but in the main restaurants usually deal with this well. After ordering our food my husbands starter arrived except with one key element missing (which was why he ordered the dish). When he asked why it was missing they said it was because it might contain nuts (eventually we ascertained that it wasn't on the ingredients, it was just made off site which is why they couldn't guarantee it). In all other restaurants usually someone would come and ask if you still wanted the dish or would like to choose something else. Instead we felt like you just get what you're given, there was no explanation at all. The waitress didn't do well in hiding her irritation at us wanting to know why it was incomplete or whether there were nuts were in the ingredients.
Her words were polite enough but her demeanour was pretty unfriendly.
The replacement starter took a long time to arrive so we ate at different times. All other waiting staff were pleasant enough but we felt unwelcome and because of this would not recommend this restaurant. A shame as the room is beautiful and the food is nice (though the bathrooms really need a re-furb!).
Restaurants, please stop treating nut allergy sufferers like unwelcome guests.
Homage at Waldorf is a large gracious room but sadly only half full on a Friday night. We had the special offer of three courses for £35 with a glass of bubbly. There seemed to be some confusion over this menu and we had to ask for the bubbly.
Food was good and the puddings especially were artistically presented. Considering the location this us an excellent offer and we enjoyed the fact that it was not noisy and the tables were well spaced unlike many restaurants in Covent Garden.
Homage is everything you would expect from a Hilton with special connection with the Waldorf. The service is superb, the food is superb and the whole experience is superb. The Parrott bar at the Waldorf is also a must. The cocktail menu is the finest with great attention to how they are served.
The restaurant was good. We got their early and asked to see if we could be seated early. We were going to the theatre and didn’t wan to rush. We could but only 15 minutes early. We had cocktails in the Parrot bar which was quirky and interesting. When we went to be seated the restaurant was fairly empty. I know there was another party somewhere else but the service didn’t seem busy. Anyhow the meal was really good and they do a day set menu which could be supplemented from the a la carte. So food, wine and service was very good. Why we needed to wait - not sure.
We had the fixed price menu with a couple of add ins. The food was excellent and was matched by the service. We would definitely consider eating here again.
The service and food was good however there was no atmosphere and it was very overpriced
I decided to book a table at this restaurant for a date because I had always wanted to dine at the world famous Waldorf. I thought it would be something on the same level as the Ritz or other world famous hotels. Sadly it's not! While walking into the Homage, you're instantly impressed with the high ceilings, open space, and period style decor. Not long after you sit down and start to absorb it, you begin to notice how tired the place is. Wooden columns are chipped and scratched, parts of the wooden decor look battered, and tiles are coming away in some of the toilets. This place is a sad reminder of what it once used to be.
You go a to restaurant for an experience. This doesn't just include the food, but the surroundings too. This could be a really nice restaurant if they just a put a bit of money into renovating it.
As for the food, this was tasty and well presented. I take my hat off to the chef.
My second visit to Homage taking advantage of the offer for 3-course meal with half a bottle of wine for £47.50 which is very reasonable as the food and service is excellent. Definitely recommend.
We decided to return here for my birthday, but we disappointed that bread was not provided automatically to accompany the starter. In addition, the portions were small compared to the physical dimensions of the plates. The main course that followed was an improvement, but here again the portions were not exactly gargantuan!
The wine, just one glass, was expensive and we both decided to not succumb to a service charge.
When are the restaurants in the UK going to catch up with those in other countries and provided unlimited bread, water in a jug, and more reasonably sized dishes?
It was my partners 25th birthday and even I had put the selection as birthday when booking, we did not receive any special cake or offer. Which was fine but it just surprised me a bit because I had indicated so.
Still a lovely dinner and the service was great!
It’s actually good for everything. A date, special occasion or everyday. It’s a fab place to eat. Remember to pop into the bar on the way in. Cocktails are to die for
Our previous two visits to Homage has been excellent in all respects but this time we were disappointed. The dining room is a distinguished space but we were somewhat disturbed by a noisy child. We chose the 3 courses @ £30 option. The food was overall disappointing compared with what we had come to expect. We feel there was inadequate concern shown by staff to our lack of satisfaction.
Came here to celebrate my partners birthday. I booked over open table app but also rang to confirm with them. I mentioned that it was for s special birthday.
A lovely setting to celebrate a special evening. The offer at the time was three courses and a glass of champagne. Was great celebrating with a nice drink to toast with.
What did disappoint me was that they were trying to sell the sides to us. They didn't guide us on what side suited the main course. I ordered a waldorf salad with my pork which didn't go at all. It was very sickly and I barely ate it.
If I had known we wouldn't have ordered that side and stuck with maybe just one vegetable.
Everyone in the restaurant was celebrating a birthday because the staff brought a little desert with a candle and chocolate writing with happy birthday. However they must have forgotten us as we were the only table without this little extra touch.
We actually ordered two brownies which unfortunately didn't come with a candle or any other extra special touch which was a shame. Even though I did take the time to call ahead.
Overall a nice evening. Good was good but the evening could of been better.
Glad I went on a set deal and didn't pay lots of money otherwise would have been disappointed
Booked for 5.30 got there 5.25 told to go away till the room was ready.
Went back 10 mins later we were seated 5.40
Our order was taken, one hour later our starter arrived .We made that staff aware this was a
pre theatre meal.
The second and third course had to be eaten very quickly
Clearly the kitchen wasn't ready to complete our order.
Will not go back and certainly not recommend the Homage
Disappointing. We arrived at 5.20pm for a 5.30pm table. Told restaurant wasn't open and to go to the bar or lobby area, but there were no seats/tables, and one of our party age 86 and finding the stairs for this difficult. Ordered salad without beetroot but it came with it; Limited set menu with only one vegetarian option for my daughter and told there were no other choices. Charged for 5 x 3 course meals which I didn't realise until after we left although one person had only had two courses.
Lovely meal and what a wonderful service we recived from Nadia thank you so much!!
We had booked the set menu including glass of champagne via Opentable but when we arrived we were informed this was not the case and not given the glasses of champagne. I double checked but unfortunately there was no convincing the management. Therefore be wary of offers when booking this venue.
I organised a pre theatre meal at Homage at the Waldorf Hilton for 4. So we ate from the theatre deal menu, which was very good and value. We all enjoyed our food. Couple of negative points: Even though we said we had a theatre appointment, we had too slow service and the (rather nice) desert had to be rushed down. Also, Open table reported that I was a "no show".... So record keeping needs to be improved.
Good location, pleasant surroundings, friendly and professional staff, reasonable value including a glass of champagne. Bread was an extra cost but this seems to be happening more and more. Wine expensive so we just had our champagne.
The Homage is "old school" dining - excellent service in an elegant restaurant. We paid £29 for a 3-course meal with a glass of champagne. The main courses were fine but the choice of starters was limited and the dessert (trifle) was so small that they added a scoop of ice-cream on the top! A lovely evening but the food itself was not outstanding.
Terrible! Hugely disappointed. Can't believe that they've destroyed what was an elegant venue.
A good experience with friendly service (which at times had to be chased). Food was good, with a lot of choice.
I asked to be directed to the cloakroom, as I had packages I didn't want to take into dinner. I was directed to the ladies lavatory. It was a long time after we were settled at the table when the menu arrived, with profuse apologies. The wrong starters were brought. The vegetables (which were excellent) were so slow in arriving that the main course was no longer hot. A waiter also brought us someone else's main course. My white wine was warm and the waitress suggested pouring out a glass and putting it in the fridge for a while. A novel solution but one which worked, surprisingly. The staff were pleasant and polite but it was definitely not the slick service I would have expected from the Waldorf. The food was very good indeed, which makes the rest even more disappointing.
We were seated upon arrival and ordered drinks. The lime in my mineral water had the food product sticker on it in the glass. We ordered salmon and steak which were good (an extra 8£ @), but the mashed potatoes were a tasteless, textureless blob. The service was poor. While our food orders were taken promptly we never received the bread we ordered and it was around 30-40 minutes before our food arrived. The salad was a good size but stuffed into a small bowl so that it fell out all over as one took a forkful. I ended up dumping it into my entree dish to eat. We had to remind the waitress of our dessert order - which was the second course of the prix fixe menu and while the desserts came out promptly and were very good, the waitress disappeared and after about 20 -25 minutes we asked another server to see about our check. The check contained the bread charge. Our waitress never appeared to collect the check and we walked to the host desk to have them remove the bread charge and to pay the check. I would note that this was a 9 pm dinner, but surprisingly the tables had placemats and no tablecloths. This created a casual aura - versus a "fine dining" experience. All in all very disappointing.
Great service, Great food,
Good option for business meals or special occasions. Well-presented seasonal food. Overall quite expensive but set menu makes it more budget-friendly.
Excellent food amidst beautiful surroundings. We had set menu and choice was excellent. Exceptionally helpful waiters who dealt with queries and food allergies so efficiently with no hassle! A really lovely experience and one to be repeated!!
Great evening with great food!
Our waitress Susan was fantastic!
Very attentive and professional.
Thank you to all at the Homage.
Without realising when we reserved, we were lucky to be offered a 3 course for £25 with a glass of champagne. Food was first class and HOT! Champagne was lovely. Restaurant was nice (slight chill, but it is airy with high ceilings and I do feel the cold easily!). But the service was commendable. Staff were genuinely lovely, helpful and professional. Would definitely dine here again - regardless of what menu was available!
Four of us visited for dinner before going to the theatre. The welcome, service, food and wine were all excellent. We had the set menu with a glass of champagne offer which was amazing value. Beautiful restaurant, wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return when we visit London again. Many thanks to all at Homage, we had a wonderful time.
Great place, great food. Been here many times and always an extremely enjoyable event.
Everyone is friendly, efficient and helpful. A hit with all the family!
Special offer was great value for money, the hake was excellent and the dining venue itself was fantastic
Had the set menu. Good value and food good, but had to send 2 meals back because they were wrong. Service slow at times, finished the chesse before the Port was served and had to ask for our wine to be topped up.
We had a terrible experience at the restaurant... booked a table for a business meeting during lunch only to find out that they had given us the worst table in the house... the restaurant was focused solely on catering for 'tea' rather than lunch (but it was lunch timing)... we were like the poor cousins compared to the other tables which were nicely set up. There was also very limited selection of food items - in fact I think they offered us the bar menu - lots of small bites only. Don't go there for lunch!
A very high quality meal in a stylish restaurant. The food was excellent - beautifully presented and imaginative. (Thoroughly recommend the mackerel tartare and smoked eel !) With the Open Table deal, it was also good value.
The Homage restaurant is very stylish, although a little cold in appearance. This is in contrast to the bar which is cosy and welcoming. Unfortunately, we found the service somewhat obtrusive and also the courses came far too quickly, making us feel rushed.
