Highway Restaurant and Bar
We offer a menu of seasonally inspired New American cuisine that gives nods to urban and global influences.
The dinner was good. My friend was unhappy bc the kitchen refused to split a entree pasta that we were sharing as an appetizer.
The service was ok
What a great place. We had the tempura rock shrimp appetizer and I almost cancelled my entre to reorder the shrimp, but I was glad I didn't when I tried the homemade cavatelli. We all shared several apps, salads and entree's and everyone was memorable. I'm not a fan of eggplant parm, since it's not even a thing in Italy, but it was awesome. The wine selection is fantastic, especially since it is served in Zalto glasses. The service was attentive, but not pushy. Make sure you stop if you are in the area.
We were with friends and family. The service from start to finish was exceptional. The servers were attentive and seemed happy to be there. The menu allows the diner to chose from various ethnic platform, and the Chef manages to pull them off extremely well. Highly recommended.
Poor value, bland and mediocre. But still a good experience.
Love this place! Thanks for a great Summer 2019
Highway is our “go-to” in the Hamptons. Not only is the food and service excellent, the key word is “consistent”. In living here, it is often a hit or miss at many of the east end restaurants but not at Highway. It is consistently excellent. Regardless if it’s a Monday or Saturday, the food and service are always top notch. The atmosphere and staff are friendly and professional. If you have not been here, you are missing the best restaurant in the Hamptons.
I would highly recommend Highway. One of the best meals we have had in the Hamptons and some of the best service.
Food was good but they must not have had enough help that night. Waitress never asked if I wanted a second glass of wine. I addition they fed us so fast that we were out of there in about an hour. Not very relaxing.
My new favorite place! Can't wait to get back there again.
Get the crab papaya salad!!! So good we got seconds.
Excellent overall..surrounding table noise a little much.
Best restaurant in the Hampton’s.
We go all the time!!
Great host and server! Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere!!
All four of us ordered different entrees and each were delicious and reasonable portions. The server was lovely and attentive. Can't wait to come back for another meal.
I'm a long time fan. Food is always very good. The waitstaff get the job done but literally hover over you or are just overbearing...even with a customer like me who is well aware that tables have to be turned and am always mindful of that.
Absolutely wonderful food and beautiful decor-highly recommend!
Good looking place with a nice bar area. Good food good service!
We had an excellent dinner at Highway Restaurant and Bar. We started out with delicious cocktails. Then we shared the tacos appetizer
For main courses we had one bouillabaisse and one fish curry. Both were delicious. We also
had an order of corn with tomatoes. For dessert we shared the chocolate pie with pistachio ice cream.
Sat at bar instead of waiting for table.
Delicious food and friendly bartender!!
Top-quality ingredients + expert preparation = delectable dinner!
A local friend of ours in East Hampton recommended Highway to us for dinner while vacationing in the Hamptons from LA. Likely one of our best meals on the East End. Handcrafted cocktails were rightfully limited (far too many restaurants have far too many and the effect is diluted), with a special call-out for house-pickled onions in the Gibson! The dinner menu is rooted in classic menu items done well, and thus conducive to many repeat visits during and after season. Each dish we had was superb. Home-made pie for dessert, as well as biscoti, deserve special mention.
Far easier to get a bad meal out here so far from NYC as we had at Nick and Toni's two nights earlier. The bloom is long gone from that long-time local favorite. Even after telling a manager at the door how bad 2 of 3 dishes were, and how un-attentive the service was, it is obvious that they have forgotten the meaning of Hospitality, whereas Highway has it down almost to a science.
Suggest you make a reservation now before all the seats are taken for the rest of the summer!!
The food was awful
Arrived at 5:40 for a 5:45 reservation. Three tables in the restaurant were occupied. We were asked to sit at a table in the rear. We requested to sit at a small banquet near the window. We sat and were then asked to move to a different table. We refused to move again so they accommodated us. Poor start for an average meal. The waitress was very pleasant. The food was OK
Food large servings and delicious! Of particular note was the service... from the meeting at the door by the hostess to the friendly and attentive servers. Really good and not often found in Hamptons eateries during the busy summer months. We’ll be back!
Different menu from last year. Food was awful. Menuntough to navigate. Untrained servers. Could not serve four dinners or even four coffees/teas at the same time.
We had dinner there twice last week. Food was very good and service was attentive.
Not an empty "scene". Just serious cooking in a pleasant setting.
Chicken was great
Caesar Salad too heavy with dressing, and anchovies I ordered on side honestly looked sick
Bouillabaisse was disappointing. Mostly mussels and just no flavor
The reception person at the front, had no eye contact, was talking to someone else and had a horrible presence when seating us.
The wait staff and servers were lovely, but the manager was on his phone walking up and down where the table were on a personal call the whole time. Never asked us if we enjoyed our meal.
We ordered a cheeseburger, meat quality was horrible and completely overcooked.
My faro salad had absolutely no flavor
We told a lovely server when someone finally asked if we enjoyed our meal, that was not good.
He then told the manager that ended up paying our bill
But, he never came over to say a word to us
This restaurant is part of a big good group...
If this is how your food tastes and the Managment doesn’t care, good luck!
I have no idea why it’s crowded
It was a very unpleasant experience
We will not be going back!
Perfect as always!!
Food and setting were good but service was very subpar.
We love this restaurant and took another couple out for their anniversary there. Even though everything was solid, each dish lacked the attention to detail that you would usually get at Highway. It’s most likely because it’s midsummer and I imagine that the kitchen is just burnt out from the tourists and full houses every night. Unfortunately, dishes like the usually amazing pork buns were dry and lackluster, and the halibut special was truly tasteless and bland. The crudo was excellent as was the service. We will be back, but not until the fall when we hope the kitchen will have the time to make each dish special.
Food is always amazing. Have been here many times and food is always great.
The food was great as usual! There was a special lentil salad that was amazing. The fish was halibut and it was cooked perfectly and the chicken, as always, was terrific. Highway has become one of our favorite restaurants in the Hamptons, and our waiter recognized us--and made us feel so welcome.
Great menu. Something for everyone with mixed style - appetizers, share plates, expandable and regular main dishes, sides, etc. Local produce.
Service was excellent.
On a busy Saturday nite in the Hamptons, we were pleasantly surprised that our table was ready at our reservation time. Server was good. The chicken was excellent. Caesar salad was just ok, but the lobster avocado toast was mighty good. Pasta dishes were good too. We shared a few desserts, everything was good, and portions were nice.
We love Highway Restaurant. The food is amazing and the energy is great. Wondering if they are training a bunch of new wait staff because the service was not at all what it used to be. We had to ask many times for water refills and ended up pouring our own wine from the bottle that was on ice by the water service station. regardless, we will go back!
Everything was great, except the music was just a steady pounding.
Quality ingredients put together well. More of a people scene but worth the visit
Pasta and Salomon a bit disappointing compared to earlier visits
