High Road Brasserie
We chose the prix fix menu which turned out to be great food and excellent value for money. The staff were probably the most attentive we have ever encountered. I recommend the restaurant without any reservation.
Overall we had a good experience. Staff were friendly, ambience was good and Food was delicious. The only downside was I had to ask for my side dish as it hadn’t arrived with the rest of the meal and it was a challenge getting staff attention. But minor irritation.
Brunch with friends
Yes it is noisy but that’s because it’s popular. The food, service and setting are all exceptional though so worth it. I have brought several different friends here over the years.
Buzzy, busy venue with a laid-back atmosphere. It’s very Chiswick: a mixture of families, young couples, small groups of friends. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The Sunday roast beef lunch was cooked to perfection and they offer a choice of pink or well done, which many other places don’t.
I’ve been here before and will return.
The only thing to bear in mind is that we were told when we arrived that we had to vacate after 90 minutes; in the event we stayed longer because there were empty tables. I’d prefer a more leisurely lunch.
Great place overall!
Perfect as always!
As always our Monday night girls gatherings were truly enjoyable all round. My favourite place in Chiswick
Visited with 6 very chatty girlfriends so was very impressed at our waitress' patience. Thank you again for a lovely time.
Service from our waiter Michaela was absolutely excellent as always
The menu was different to the one printed on line and the waitress was surly argumentative and not good.
The portions are enormous which I suppose is good value for money but it would be a good idea to smaller portions rather than waste so much food
Poor service, overly warm wine, mediocre food and poor acoustics.
Service was generally good but a little slow getting our order in at the beginning which made the hustling off our table ‘in the next 5 minutes’ at the end of our meal galling.
Food was just ok. Beetroot and goats cheese salad had very little goats cheese in it and a lot of leaves. Boeuf Bourguignon was good, but served on cold plates which is lazy.
I used to go here all the time and now I remember why I don’t now.
The final hustling away wasn’t even done graciously which is unforgivable in the hospitality business.
Great service and food. Always consistent.
Love this place! Used to go regularly when I lived in Chiswick. And now happily travel to meet friends there! Never had bad service and it’s just a lovely place to sit and enjoy food
We booked our table on OpenTable and when we arrived the table was ready and the staff was so hospitable. They were very kind and were willing to answer questions that may have been obvious to others. This is a fantastic place for the value! We had the French toast with Chantilly cream and berries. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Then we had the orange juice, it's genuinely fresh squeezed. Which makes it a bit more tart, but it's so good. Lastly, I had the bacon. For the price, you get a lot of bacon. Definitely enough for 2 or 3 people.
Great place and good to sit outside with the heaters on - it is quieter than inside!
Apart from the overworked staff who were courteous and efficient there was little to appreciate for mature (i.e older)clients. The noise(music?)was coarse and deafening and inhibited normal conversation. The menu was so lacking in food of interest that it became difficult to choose.I chose Fish and chips -sold out!
I have been going to HRB for many years and have seen it slip from good food with a positive and cheerful vibe to a hurried, noisy and overpriced food standard,
This restaurant always impresses me
Steak night 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
coffees rather on cold side
scrambled eggs medium warm to cold
We went for set menu. The food was underwhelming. Escargos didn't have much taste. Prawn on toast looked unattractive. Fish cake had poached egg and sauce on top. It was not what we were expecting. May be because we went for set menu? But if the restaurant is doing their set menu half hearted. They should just remove it from the menu. Service was good and atmosphere was good.
Great place for a casual lunch. Sat outside but under cover, making the most of the September sunshine. Good choices from the all day menu including fixed price 2 or 3 course menu. Service welcoming, patient and efficient. For London , location & quality pretty good value.
Excellent as always.
Delicious food and really high quality service with a great atmosphere.
Only thing was - maybe don't keep the big sliding doors/frontage open at 10pm when a cold wind is blowing in! Once the sun had gone it was noticeably freezing into the restaurant, I wanted to put on a coat. I imagine they're great during a sunny day though.
Birthday celebration nice and chilled
Very good food but quite a bit of what I fancied was off of the menu.
Always a safe bet!! Good food and friendly staff!!
Always come here when we have friends and family staying for breakfast, excellent food and helpful professional staff.
I thought the service was ok, took a while to clear our plates but we didn't mind as we were talking. The staff were friendly and nice though. The food very average, got the moules mariniere and it came with chips that were over done. The mussels were a little tasteless so didn't finish it. I wouldn't return or recommend it if I'm being honest.
Consistently good. The markup on bottles of wine is overdone.
Very average/poorCaesar salad with limp lettuce and old bacon. The extra for chicken arrived with a few dry cold (clearly pre cooked) chicken strips. Soggy cold chips. Overall disappointing and vastly overpriced.
Nice location, nice venue. Starter and desert was good, main was average - ordered the burger well done but it was very dry.
1.5 hour limit for the table was silly. Luckily they weren’t busy and the service wasn’t that speedy so we stayed for 2.5hours!
We haven't been here for 6 years since having kids but it was exactly the same as its always been. Such a great restaurant.
Ok but food a let down. Greasy cheese on truffle fries - gross. Steak Tartare tasteless. Fish greasy. More style over substance but cheap for a Chiswick High Road location.
Great place for Sunday lunch. Good food and good service.
Great coffee. Good fish cakes. Average service.
Great service from the manager, he was extremely helpful.
We went for ‘steak night’ on Saturday. Phenomenal steak and brilliant value..... the service was excellent. I would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
Chef was very accommodating to my dietary requirements and the food was excellent. Service was very slow and not brilliant.
Our group experienced very slow service. They were there for a business lunch and time is important when you have to get back to the office. They arrived by 12:15, but had not received their main course by 13:15.
