High Road Brasserie
Easy inexpensive dining in Chiswick, with an up-to-date seasonal menu
Delicious brunch. I had the half English and found it to be plenty. Great quality food and good service.
Happy to go back - I just think we either chose the wrong dishes, or we were expecting them to be different. The Orecchiette was a good example - in Italy, it's a 'clear' dish, whereas here the pasta was mixed with a pea-green paste and I couldn't taste any chili. The overall effect was bland, but like I said, it might be to someone else's taste.
We had lovely supper, I had to request a later time as our flight was delayed which was no trouble. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
Emily made our night !
Never had an empty glass and she was very attentive !
Very professional service
The last time we had dinner the quality of the food was better.
My meat was cold even I sent it back two times it came back cold.
Not impressed by food but service was excellent!
Hope to give another try for the food but service never disappoints !
Friendly attentive staff. Great buzz. Very busy so the atmosphere was great. My kippers were delicious
My guest was delighted with his meal, which was food he had not eaten before.
Service is best of all. I always enjoy the alcove seat at front
We are frequent diners here. Some days are busier than others which can have an adverse affect on service but tonight it was perfect! Kudos!
We really enjoyed our evening, the service was wonderful, the food delicious and the ambiance great for a Saturday night out.
Really nice buzzy atmosphere without being too loud. Food was good not brilliant but good, service was fine too.
My only negative was that, despite advising staff during the booking process, that it was my husband's significant birthday, they did nothing to make it special. Not even a complimentary bucks fizz. Disappointing. Also staff were not as friendly as usual.
The food was delicious and all the staff were very friendly
Excellent place for brunch, great food and the staff are very friendly.
We needed somewhere for a relatively casual and quick supper before going on to a surprise birthday party locally in Chiswick. It had been a while but we opted for High Rd House, arriving at 7.30pm on a Friday evening. Although ( and inevitably with these restaurants) busy, the service was excellent, Tx Joseph and we only had to wait 5 mins fir our table. The food was fine, chicken escalope and fish and chips, although overall the menu was a little bland. All the staff were charming and professional and it hit the spot.
Everything was perfect!! Greeting,food,service!
If you are looking for a REAL brasserie style restaurant in chiswick this is the address.
Great food and excellent service
Service was good, nice polite staff. Main course very mediocre and overpriced. Deserts good. Lighting very poor, I understand possibly to create an intimate ambience however saw one table using a torch. Noise left very high with smoke alarm going off on occasion. Overall not a bad experience but I won’t go back.
Good value two course menu - very noisy dining room
The restaurant is beautiful and one of my favourites - we go regularly for the Steak Night special on a Saturday - great value and the food is outstanding.
Very tasty Bloody Mary as per usual, though I couldn't taste any vodka. A friend asked for sherry which flummoxed the first waitperson a bit. Later in the day they asked again and received a champagne glass of sweet sherry - strange.
The food was generally ok (apart from bacon in the eggs benedict which was stone cold) and well presented though the interval between some snacks and the rest was long. Throughout the visit different staff took our orders and then seemed to disappear. Confusing.
The kitchen appeared to be under pressure and at one point there was a lot of shouting, like a real argument.
Still it was New Year's Day and maybe one has to expect things to be a bit rougher than normal.
Question: why do you not put any sugar in your Irish coffees? Surely this is essential and cannot be added later.
Our waiter was excellent, wish I remember his name. Friendly and attentive, despite being rushed off his feet. Chips with truffle and parmesan were a highlight as was the rib eye. Just a thought for next time - crispy skin on the cod please? The sundae was a total let down. Banana seemed frozen, and big chunks of dry biscuity stuff thrown in. Ambience was pleasant, as was the décor, though l wonder what can be done with shouty people like the man on the table next to ours? I’d like to come back and try a different dessert, hopefully without a shouty table neighbour.
A delicious breakfast, well presented and enjoyable.
Great local chiswick place
Always love coming here! Food, staff and atmosphere is always on point!
Excellent as always.
We went to celebrate my sons birthday. The waiter spotted a birthday card on the table and low and behold a mini cake presented and we were able to embarrass my son with an off tune Happy Birthday!! Great service and food for lunch
I dropped in extremely hungover and emerged happy and full after a full dose of comfort food (and a hair of the dog)...
Most uncomfortable chairs of any London restaurant. They lean back way too far. Sat where we were constantly bumped into by guests and staff. Wine glasses served by staff grabbing the bowel of the glass, instead of the stem. So glasses had greasy finger prints all over glass even before they arrived. The mulled wine was served in glasses as if they had been dipped in the wine. Sticky and disgusting. The salad Nicoise used to come with seared tuna. Now the tuna is tinned.
The good points: most of the staff are very good at their job. The prices are not steep. The ingredients and dishes are good to very good. The place is clean.
Fixed price lunch was excellent.
Service also excellent
Special mention for Marta who made us feel very welcome and was particularly attentive and efficient - a credit to the restaurant
Nice enough, staff were pleasant, food was good, atmosphere was ok. Service was a little slow but enjoyed our time. thank you
Nice and dependable as always
We chose the prix fix menu which turned out to be great food and excellent value for money. The staff were probably the most attentive we have ever encountered. I recommend the restaurant without any reservation.
Breakfast was oily and over cooked. The juice and coffee are good
Overall we had a good experience. Staff were friendly, ambience was good and Food was delicious. The only downside was I had to ask for my side dish as it hadn’t arrived with the rest of the meal and it was a challenge getting staff attention. But minor irritation.
Brunch with friends
Yes it is noisy but that’s because it’s popular. The food, service and setting are all exceptional though so worth it. I have brought several different friends here over the years.
Buzzy, busy venue with a laid-back atmosphere. It’s very Chiswick: a mixture of families, young couples, small groups of friends. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The Sunday roast beef lunch was cooked to perfection and they offer a choice of pink or well done, which many other places don’t.
I’ve been here before and will return.
The only thing to bear in mind is that we were told when we arrived that we had to vacate after 90 minutes; in the event we stayed longer because there were empty tables. I’d prefer a more leisurely lunch.
Great place overall!
Perfect as always!
As always our Monday night girls gatherings were truly enjoyable all round. My favourite place in Chiswick
