Have dined here for 30+ years. Wonderful food, staff. It never, ever disappoints. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great food experience.
This was our first time at Henry's End at their new location. The service and atmosphere are just as intimate as always. The menu offers wild game for the adventurous palate (the wild boar sausage was delicious), but also more sedate choices for more conservative patrons (like my wife, who had chicken). We definitely will be back.
I dined at Henry's End at its new location, and it was better than ever. I had the endive salad with blood oranges, the sole citron with mashed potatoes, and the chocolate banana bread pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent and the space has a classy, European feel to it. A terrific dining choice in Brooklyn Heights.

During winter's Wild Game Festival, I normally indulge in the delicious turtle soup, but I sacrificed my usual favorite in order to sample the wild mushroom soup, which was extraordinary. I followed with the venison entree on a bed of mashed parsnips with an unforgettable juniper & Cabernet sauce. Just perfect.
My wife had the gnocchi with wild boar ragu, which she generously allowed me to taste. It was wonderful.
Henry's End is an essential neighborhood mainstay, and I am never sorry to have stopped in. While hardly a cheap meal -- a couple with wine will run about $150 -- it's not crazy expensive and well worth the price.
First time there since they moved. Been dining there since 1980. Went on Sat night 2.29. Service was horrendous. We were virtually ignored while table next to us with same server was fawned over. Had to flag her down every time we wanted something - wine and cocktail refills. Main courses came out before we finished our appetizers. Brought cold later and later and Luke warm on their third appearance. Caesar dressing had no garlic, citrus or flavor and wilted lettuce. Wild game cassoulet had no seasoning or flavor - ditto braised duck with wild mushrooms. Dining room almost empty by 9:30 and staff were already leaving. I hope all of this was just an aberration - have never had bad service and remedial good in all these tears.
The staff from the host to our server was extremely welcoming. We will return.

I loved Henry's End in its old location and I love it just as much in its new spot.
Henry's End, as always, was fabulous. The owner, Mark, greeted us personally and provided us with the option of sitting downstairs which had a nice small sitting area for additional seating , would be great for a private party of 8-10.
We had a lovely bottle of chardonnay and a few small plates and 1 entree and a side dish so that we could sample of few more items. Our favorites were the Ozark BBQ ribs which has a little kick but not real spicy along with the Veal Scallopine with Wild Morel Mushrooms, and the Broccoli Rabe side.
Nice neighborhood place. RSVP a very good idea.

Salmon was cooked to perfection & tasty. Best to go with prefix menu where dessert is included for price of appetizer and entree. Service was very attentive but not at all intrusive. Highly recommend for date night during the week.

Sadly, my experience fell well below the expectations I had for this Brooklyn mainstay. The crab cakes were more bread than crab; the $4 charged for a Diet Coke in a small glass was unacceptable (we got a total of four, which came to $16); and my date received a well-done steak instead of medium rare that she had ordered. This was my first and last time at Henry's End, and I'll be sure to pass along my experience to friends.
I wish Henry's End was as wonderful as it used to be but change is inevitable. They moved to a new space last year and it's not nearly as cozy as it used to be. The menu isn't radically different but someone made the decision that it's no longer necessary to provide a complimentary small side of rice and haricots. On the plus side, early diners don't have to stand outside and wait for the door to be unlocked at 5:30 because they now have a late afternoon happy hour. The food is delicious as always, but as the people at the next table said when they got their check - this isn't an inexpensive place. After dining here since the 1980s, of course we'll be back, but that doesn't stop us from reminiscing about how it used to be.
Reservation process a bit wonky..... call and there is only a table at 5:30, go to open table and they have a 7:30...... but all’s well that ends well! Service and food are always amazing..... we ordered a 1995 Burgundy and the owner, Mark, came to the table to discuss our choice.... he explained it might not be the burgundy we knew- he made the extra effort to make his customers happy...... it was wonderful, as was the Burgundy! Henry’s End never disappoints!
Just delightful. The herb-crusted salmon and the tuna were superb, as were the salads. It was evident that this restaurant has been around a long time and the cooks were experienced chefs!
We will definitely come back to this lovely restaurant.

I've been a patron of Henry's End since the 80's when I lived in Park Slope. Now I live in Westchester and the schlep to Brooklyn is definitely worth it when your final destination is Henry's End.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. And the restaurant, while small, was comfortable and the noise level appropriate.
The food, however, was a disappointment. With the exception of the Elk dish, the New Year's prix fix menu felt like an afterthought, or that perhaps everything was sitting around waiting to be served. It was not as expected given the reputation of the restaurant. Everything was under seasoned, even the kid's meal they brought in error (but that we welcomed for our ten year old). Even the desserts were disappointing. We left feeling we'd spent a good deal for a special meal only to be left regretting the decision.
Neighborhood gem. Creative fare. Good service. Will be back.

Went with friends to the ‘new’ location, especially for the game festival. The food was great, the game charcuterie especially.
Arrived before our reservation and were promptly seated. Excellent martini and cabernet. Started with ostrich potstickers from the wild game menu. They were really enjoyable! Steak au poivre and the duckling special were both excellent. Entree portions were large. Broccoli rabe and fries were good sized sides. Acoustics were tough but would prefer that to a restuarant without ambiance.
First visit. We’re in Brooklyn regularly and will Def be-back. Our server is excellent - very knowledgeable about wines. Enormously helpful. I believe her name is.......Madeline (?) I’m great w faces but crap at recalling names.
food was tasty, although a little overpriced. the room is lovely and the service is friendly, although we had to call them over a bit too often. cocktails were good, but nothing was special or excellent.
We’ve been going to Henry’s End for many years, and the food doesn’t disappoint. The new location has a more open feeling, and the food and service remain very good. The turtle soup is excellent. The Faroe Island Moroccan salmon was delicious, as was the walnut crusted chicken. My only critique is that most of the dishes are not served with a vegetable or rice, as before, and the plating needs work. More attractive plating would bump this up to five stars

Henry's End has long been a favorite in Brooklyn Heights and still is. The new space is smaller, but the food and service remain first-rate and the ambiance very pleasant. I won't call the restaurant quiet, but we could hear ourselves without shouting -- a rarity these days. And we could read the menu and see our food without a flashlight. Always happy to go back.
It was a first for me and my companion. I can understand why it’s a local favorite. We shared the pan roasted vegetables as an appetizer. They were perfectly roasted and just tender with a tasty light glaze. As a main course we ordered the lamb bedded on mashed potatoes. The lamb was perfect with just enough BBQ sauce.
The finale was the chocolate hazel nut cake. Nothing disappointed and the variety of unusal game choices on the menu was refreshing.
Always terrific food and great service. Our go-to place. Everyone we have brought here loves it.
