Took my mom for lunch and it was such a great distraction from the world. We ate inside and stared at the boats on the water. We had the first reservation inside so it was very quiet. Nice being back inside a restaurant. As a server myself, I am happy that this crew got to go back to work during the pandemic. :)
Great all around
Excellent food, and nice view of the Harbor. Best Fish and Chips I've had in a long time!!
Madeline was our service provider. She waited on our table of 7. She did an amazing job and was a wonderful representative of Harpoon Henry. She is to be commended for her performance and outstanding customer service.
IF you go there, ASK FOR MADELINE'S TABLE. She was awesome.
Happy they've reopened, however, we had to ask for salt and pepper, napkins and silverware??????
Beautiful view, very good food, but a little pricey.
A server was folding silverware/cloth napkins without a mask on. Touching her face/nose and returning to folding. We had to get the manager because he was clearly not paying attention to his staff. This was appalling since masks are now mandatory in restaurants in CA for servers.
So happy to finally be able to come back and have my favorite shrimp and chips.
Great view, Great service, good food! I'll be back!!
We were seated right away. Server was friendly and wore proper protective equipment.
Nice view! Great food the seared Ahi lunch was Amazing! Service could have been better our waitress didn’t come back to fill drinks or ask if we needed drinks till end of our meal.
Salads were delicious, fish and chips was a bit dry. We never got bread but service was good, great view!
Excellent protocols in place for COVID-19 patio dining. Enjoyed a lovely delicious lunch while feeling safe. Good job to all of the staff and servers.
I have enjoyed eating at Harpoon Henry's since we move to So Cal in 1977. I don't remember the first time we ate there but we have been coming back since. I am not sure if it was called H H then or not. It is a great place to bring guests - nice view - but they had better like sea food. Oh yes, we have yet to try the "champagne" special.
Great food and location, it’s the best in Dana Point
The view is great overlooking the harbor. Food and service always excellent
Disappointed that no longer has mahii mahi nor swordfish and had to ask for and was charged for initial bread...used to be free and without request.
The food was delicious, the staff was kind and the view was amazing!!!
Everything was great! Great food and atmosphere. We had a window table with a view of the harbor. The only 3 very minor problems were, our menus didn't match. They printed new menus and my friend got the old one with a slightly different beer selection. So at first my friend didn't see a beer he liked on his menu, then he later saw one he liked on my menu after we made drink orders. Our server was great and brought his beer right away. Next slight problem, I ordered a pint of beer which is $1.50 more then a mug. My friend ordered the mug and it seemed larger! If you go, order a mug. Next, I couldn't decide between the the shrimp combo or the seafood combo, very similar dishes. The seafood combo comes with coconut shrimp, fish and scallops. The shrimp combo with different kinds of shrimp. Our order came and the food runner gave our dishes to the table next to us. We ordered a seafood combo and seafood salad, they ordered American salad and shrimp combo. I heard all the commotion and started telling the girl that the food was our order...repeatedly! I got very loud, but she ignored me! Finally, she was going to take the seafood salad back and I finally got her to listen to me, explaining that was our order. She gave the seafood salad to my friend. He didn't mind and the lady from the next table shouted "I didn't touch it". Gross. This is the first weekend restaurants were open after covid 19 shut down. The man ate my order and wouldn't give it up, but I wouldn't have taken it anyway. Later "My" order arrived. It was the shrimp combo instead of my seafood combo. I didn't really mind, but I was going to share my scallops with my friend who only got the salad. He was looking forward to the scallops as well. The server was more then nice, very accommodating and would have done anything to make this right. I just told him to adjust the $6 price difference and it was fine. All in all it was a great meal. I will go back!
Harpoon Henry's is open for inside dining and very nice. They have cleaned everything and lots of space with many tables blocked off. It was so nice to have great service, excellent food and the beautiful atmosphere by the Harbor.
Harpoon Henry's is a great restaurant. The staff is friendly. The food is prepared to perfection. The menu offers an excellent selection.
Great service and foods
The calamari steak was awesome!
So relaxing,great service,delicious food,always perfect
Well done on the social distancing and pandemic mediation.
Food, service and view was great. Unfortunately, they don’t accept American Express which is a big negative for us. It’s all my husband carries.
Location is pristine. Food is average at best and over priced
our food- salmon and fish and chips was delicious and super fresh.
Our waitress( with long dark brown ponytail, long eyelashes) was very good!
The waiter did an excellent job. But when we arrived, the hostesses where lost and didn’t follow new protocols The one that took us to the table she would pull her mask down to talk to us. There were tons of people without a mask. At the patio there was no social distance in place
Great first day out ofCovid quarantine. Just what the doctor ordered
I had such a great experience!! The food was amazing!!
My weekly favorite
sCOTT rOBERTSON (elvis) GREAT WE WILL BE BACK NEXT MONTH
We booked the table online & specifically asked
for a booth by the window for our party of four becuz we had guests from out of town. Hostess said no window tables were available but did not give us the option to wait. We were seated at a table in the middle. Servers had to pass around our table constantly. My husband hates being in the middle for this very reason.
Lousy service very slow despite not being that busy. We were there 1hr and 50 minutes. Limited menu with average seafood
If you can handle 80 retro decor which is coming back now this spot is outstanding... the harbor view.... stunning, service... fantastic, food........ exceptional
Nothing fancy, but a nice place for a casual dinner.
I made reservations on OpenTable for six people, when we got there they said there was a party of 100 and they did not have a table for us unless we wanted to sit in the middle of the party for 100 when 6 seats open up within the party. Why would I want to sit within someone else’s party. But then a table opened up outside so it all worked out. Then the waiter explained that it was going to take a while for our brunch to be delivered because of the party of 100, they were way behind.
Harpoon Henry's has good food at a reasonable price in a nice harbor location. However, the service is very uneven. On this last occasion, our waitress struggled with opening a wine bottle. In addition, we received our salad before our appetizer and our entre before we had finished either. It's a good thing we had a four top as we had on our table: an appetizer, two appetizer/bread plates, a bread basket, two salad plates, two dinner plates, two wine classes, a wine chiller bucket and two water glasses all for a party of two. Do you get the picture? Our waitress apologized several times and blamed the food problem on the kitchen. Who knows? The swordfish was very good and the coconut shrimp outstanding.
