We sat outside in their cafe area and enjoyed great sushi and the seaweed salad was amazing.
Only one waitress. Nobody at front to greet us for about 7 mins. It was a special occasion and sparking wine we ordered was not available so we tried to order another and were told they didn't have any that were on the list. The wine menu was poor. Even if you keep a small wine list there are many good wines that retail for $10-$15 which would put you at bottle prices of $35- $50 so nothing too pricey. We usually do take out and will continue to but will probably never eat in again.
Been here many times. Always some of the best & freshest sushi/sashimi in the city. Also have great creative rolls and noodel dishes. I go there whenever I have a sushi craving which is often.
From food to service to ambiance, everything was spectacular!
Came here at 6p on a Sunday - only people in the restaurant with our toddler. Our server was super attentive and the owner (I assume) came over a few times to entertain our daughter. The food was delicious and pretty reasonable. Will definitely return!
Always a great meal and wonderful service! Kid friendly, but not too loud. Love the gyoza, tempura veggies and the sushi. We will be back for sure!
Great sashimi, servicd, and atmosphere. Love it!
We had a great time . The selection was great and each dish not only looked good but tasted great
Getting together with people, we rarely see.
It was quiet and relaxing. A very enjoyable evening.
Went here for our Valentine’s Day dinner. Our server Charles was extremely attentive and personable and the food was fresh and unique. My girlfriend is hard to please and she’s already asking for me to make another reservation here. We will definitely be requesting Charles and compliments to the Chef for making this night unforgettable.
The sushi was the highlight. They were very good but the place was extremely quiet and on a Saturday night we were just the only guests present. There was another couple but then we expected a good crowd around. The service was extremely good. Would recommend it to people who just want to have a bite of sushi.
What a hidden gem! Luckily I found this on Yelp and OpenTable. The atmosphere was very peaceful and quiet. We were there on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious and our server had very good suggestions. Since the restaurant was not very busy, the noise level was very low. I highly recommend Hachi's Kitchen. Great sushi rolls and appetizers.
Hatches kitchen has been my number one go to for sushi for almost a decade. I love the spot and would recommend it without reservation to anyone.
My favorite sushi place!!! Phenomenal!
They made the sushi wrong but insisted it was right and then after eating it I sent it back and they finally admitted it was made wrong. The atmosphere also was loud elevator music. And no one else was there. I wouldn't go back
Phenomenal service and exceptional sushi!!!! A must!!
We love Hachi! We just moved to the neighborhood and we've already frequented this many times. Wonderful service, amazing dishes and sushi! We love the staff.
Love that they have the same menu as Sai. Everything was great!!!
Lovely food, modern and clean ambiance, and very tasty food!
Outstanding food and service. Quiet enough to have a good conversation and the service was spot on and at the end unrushed--exactly what I would want for an evening dinner out.
Hidden gem in Logan Square.
Food is amazing! Ambiance is great! Ask for Gina!!!
Tasty sushi, nice service, place is on the small side
Fantastic Sushi! Service is always friendly and fast.
The rolls and appetizers were original but the food quality was just lacking. None of the fish were fresh, even in sashimi (toro wasn't even fresh or sliced properly for sashimi despite being $12 a piece). Spicy mayo tasted sour and off. Even the peanut sauce used in the go mae was clumpy - obviously a paste mixed with water but not even mixed well because I bit into some large clumps of peanut paste. Might just have been an off day, but honestly don't see myself risking another visit there.
What a great place! Fresh food, super clean, this was our 2nd time there. Brought our kids and had Gina served us again! She's so sweet and just goes above and beyond without hanging over us. Will go back again and again!
Hachis Kitchen is lovely. My husband and I went there relatively early on a friday and had unbelievable service and delicious food. This is a place for 30s and up, it is quiet, not trying to be trendy, just really good!
Waitresses could not find my tip and embarrassed me with asking my date if service was ok. I tipped again and they called me later telling me they found it and will credit my next visit.
This is a perfect sushi restaurant. Love that the decor doesn't scream sushi - there isn't even a sushi bar. Delicious!
Hachi's is our go to sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, not too loud where you can't have a conversation which is hard to find these days. The sushi is always good.
Hachi's Kitchen is a sister restaurant to Sai Cafe where I have gone for 20 years. Hachi's is more intimate andthe food is just as amazing. There are no other Sushi restaurants in Chicago that give you the quality and piece portions that these two places do. Try the Dynamite which is a cooked scallop appetizer with fish roe and a lovely sauce, very unusual. The sashimi is as fresh as can be and the pieces are huge. I have sent many people to the se places over the years and they all come back with rave reviews.
My friend and I had dinner on a Friday night on the recommendation of a regular at Hachi's. The service was great, everything we ordered was top notch, and the green tea was some of the best I've ever had. Plus it was a really nice vibe. Busy and happy but quiet enough to hear each other easily.
I've been to every major city in US and have had sushi in each one this place by far is one of the best and that saying the lot. Chicago isn't known for its sushi and I don't know a lot of good sushi places in Chicago but this is by far one of the top five and there are a lot of sushi places here but none are good and this is one of the rare finds. Amazing!
My wife and I live in the area and we had driven past Hachi's kitchen many times. We really wanted sushi one night and decided to check it out. We got the Dynamite baked scallops for and appetizer which were amazing. Then we shared 3 different sushi rolls which were also very good.
We brought a bottle of wine because I someone had mentioned in another review that they are BYOB. They are BYOB but they have a $15 corkage fee. Since we didn't know this the waitress kindly waved the charge. Next time, we'll probably just buy are own glasses of wine at the restaurant.
Overall the food was good and the ambiance was nice. If you're looking for sushi in Logan Square I would definitely recommend Hachi's kitchen.
This is just an ok place. Nothing really special about the food, service or decor. For a fast meal with no expectations its just ok. I was meeting a friend and we were close so and we wanted sushi so we tried it. Won't go back.
My boyfriend and I wanted to go on a nice date night in his new neighborhood, and after reading the reviews we decided to try Hachi's Kitchen. Easily some of the best Japanese Style Fried Rice I've ever had. They have great vegan options for me and omnivore options for him. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back!
Dropped in on a very busy night but they still made us feel special.
Very well prepared, fresh fish and some unususl and tasty options.
The place is well decorated - and has a contemporary feel to it
Making this review simple. If you like sushi, by the time you finish dining at this restaurant, you will love sushi! I have been to this place twice and in both visits we have tried different offerings (FYI, Sai Cafe is their other restaurant). In my opinion it was difficult to pick a favorite roll as they were all very tasty. The whole staff were friendly and inviting. The server was attentive and helpful in making recommendations. Don't just take my word for it, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
I found this place because of Check Please on WTTW. It was pretty good, not great. The service was wonderful, the starters were great - fried rice was super fresh! Sushi was good, but not great. If we lived closer (we live in Lincoln Square) I would come more often, but I wouldn't make the trip back unless I was in the neighborhood.
