Grille 66 & Bar
Another great dinner at the Grille 66
Great food and service.
The usual outstanding service , food and ambiance ! The best Fort Lauderdale has to offer.
It’s not the cheapest of restaurants but the food is excellent, the service impeccable and looking at the yachts parked right outside isn’t too shabby either. An excellent restaurant for any foodie.
As locals we try to experience all the "water view" restaurants, the food here was excellent and so was our server, it was a monday so it was quiet and all in all a very nice place to dine.
Always a good dinner. Definately return. We had the sea bass and swordfish with beef carpaccio. Enjoyed our birthday dinner.
We got caught with a delayed flight and were thankful the kitchen stayed open and let us order just before closing. It turned out the chef was out and the sous chef was in charge and chose the menu- he had a swordfish special with a beat risotto with a lemon curry?? sauce. I have no idea what he did but it was pure genius. Add the green and toppings which gave the perfect amount of seasoning, we are a bit of food snob so I was blown away we happened upon this place after a long travel day!!!
I will also mention we ordered the scallop appetizer which was cooked to perfection.
My husband is a bit of a wine nerd and was pretty impressed by the wine list and the boutique labels they had- plus for those who want something non chain. And the price point was amazing!!!
I will also give a high five to our waiter. I noticed on multiple occasions he peeked over to watch how we were doing with our meal to pace courses- for someone who loves a food experience this is a big deal. He wasn’t obtrusive but was always available if we needed anything.
Not sure if we will have another layover here but if we do/ I can promise we will be back!
This restaurant is perfect for special occasions. The service is impeccable. The food presentation and taste are second to none. It is pricey, but you know that going in. The truth is, you get what you pay for, and the quality justifies the cost.
Our new favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale!
Excellent experience. From walking in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink order taken, was less then a minute. Meal was served hot and excellent taste. Server was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I had a great conversation with our waiter which was the best part.
A vice nice evening. Appreciated the half portions on the sides. Service was excellent!
This is the best dining experience my husband and I have had in a very long time. We will definitely will come back when we visit the Ft. Lauderdale area. The experience was exactly what we long to have when going out for date night. And the Oysters Rockefeller are a must try!!!!
The location with the view and the service are the best in ft. Lauderdale. We had asked for a table outside and we were seated at the table with the best view!
We love that they now offer half portions of salad as well as side dishes we can try different things.
Both my husband and I ordered the house salad which is like a chopped salad and it was amazing. I ordered the smaller filet mignon and my husband ordered the NY Steak both with Bernaise sauce and both were delicious. If you like your steak a little on the red side you should ordered medium rare. I ordered medium and for me it was a little over cooked. As a side we ordered the shoe string French fries and they were outstanding. I think next time I’ll ordered the salad and the fries with bernaise sauce.
We were too full to order dessert but since we were celebrating our anniversary they brought the best chocolate mousse cake I’ve had. The whole experience was awesome and I definitely recommend it.
always wonderful. Never disappoints, a very special evening from table requests to great food and service.
Great location. Right on the water with beautiful boats going by.
Food is good. Classic steak house type.
Great food, great service, great experience. Most definitely will return.
An outstanding experience overall. Joh, our waiter was excellent!!
This was the best meal we ever had! The lobster and steak special was unbelievable! Everything was cooked to perfection! Beautiful views, spectacular food and awesome service. Highly recommend!
We are glad that you enjoyed! That Special Surf & Turf is decadent!
Service was excellent inside at our bar top table for appetizers and on point as well outside on the terrace for our main meal. My only regret is I save room for dessert.
Next time, remember to save room for dessert. Best Key Lime Pie, north of the Keys.
Always the most consistent upscale resturant in Fort Lauderdale. The server staff has always been the best.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, we have been going here for over 10years, however our waiter on Mother’s Day was the worst
We always have excellent service at this restaurant and this waiter should not be waiting tables at a restaurant of this caliber
Thankfully the management staff gave us a new waiter, but at that point we were all so frustrated and over an hour into the evening and they had no idea what we had ordered so we had to start over.
The original waiter was so hung up on the table of 8 he had near by that he hardly knew we existed . I won’t go into all of the details because there are too many to list as to why he was so terrible. What a shame because we tend to be excellent tippers ..
Grill 66, do yourself a favor, please get rid of this waiter, he does not belong in your restaurant, he is not the usual waiter in the lower section, as the ones that are usually there are excellent .
The food as usual was excellent
First time ever that we had to wait more than 40 minutes beyond our reservation time of 8:15. Service was good but not exceptional. The relatively new wine steward, Johnathan, was very good and attentive as was Steve previously. My steak was a bit overcooked but very tasty (pepper crusted filet mignon) and wife's fish was nicely cooked and seasoned. Happy that Grille 66 will continue to be around for a few more years.
Amazing food gorgeous atmosphere attentive but not invasive service - spectacular evening.
it was mobbed and yet our food and service was excellent. for years we have gone and the food and service have been consistently the best. going back.
We appreciate you recognizing the service received during a busy weekend. We have had many years of practice and a very consistent staff in the front thanks again for recognizing the staff's hard work! We hope that you dine with us again in the near future.
this was the second time I had dinner at this restaurant. The first time we had no reservation and experienced what I thought was a misunderstanding by the manager who would not allow our party of 4 to sit until all in our party were present even though the restaurant was almost empty. The food was delicious so I just ignored the problem. We returned with a party of 8 with a reservation and again the manager would not allow us to sit because 2 people were not present as they were parking. The manager was rude to the point of embarrassing us at the front desk. I am not sure if he has ever gone to school to provide the kind of customer service that an upscale restaurant should have. Nevertheless, I will not return and will definitely share my experience with friends.
We apologize the policy of 'seating complete parties' is hard for you to accept; we offered seating it is a challenge to manage reservations, especially on a holiday. It is uncommon for us to have a guest yell at our staff and yet remain hospitable. We are glad you enjoyed the experience we provided try to do our best for each!
Mother’s Day dinner
The porter house was burned. Wasn’t chewable or able to cut. Had to get another porter house steak
We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary here on a Thursday night and truly enjoyed the experience.
A couple of Happy Hour drinks were suggested as we arrived a little early for our reservation. The bar area was very full though not crowded (it was still early) and the service was excellent.
When we were ready to dine, our bar waiter let the reservations desk know and they took us to our appointed table along the waterway. Such a beautiful setting.
Our waiter (I don't recall his name) was attentive but not overbearing. We ordered a bottle of wine which was brought to the table and poured by the sommelier.
Their warm rolls and flavorful flatbreads are a nice beginning. We ordered 3 items from the menu - hubby had veal piccata which was tender and moist, with perfect amount of lemon and capers. I had the roasted beet salad and the fantastic crabcake, both from the appetizer menu. Lovely presentation on each; the beets were perfectly cooked and cut into large chunks (4 each of red and yellow) place on either side of the mixed greens. The crabcake is just that - lump crab and seasonings, not fillers. It is served with a sweeet corn and jalapeno relish as well as a remoulade. Beautiful to look at and delicious to eat!
While we aren't big dessert eaters, as it was a special occasion, we opted for the creme brulee to split. It was served with a little chocolate biscotti on the side, fresh berries and a Happy Anniversary fondant greeting with a little candle. Lovely and delicious. We were surprised to have been charged for the dessert, as we have typically found that a dessert is comped for these occasions. Not a big deal, just a notation.
This is my 2nd dining experience at this establishment. The 2nd time was a good as the first and if I didn't live across the country, it would be a place we would visit more frequently.
They have valet parking, but there is also a 'pay to park' lot across the street. It's a bargain at $1.75 per hour.
My mom’s birthday!
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS. ALWAYS GREAT FOOD. LOCATION IS PERFECT
Always a wonderful experience. Habib and Peter take such great care of each and every guest.
Great location. Great wine list and good menu. The atmosphere and servers were a bit arrogant. The salad and apps were very good but the entrees disappointed; especially for such a chi chi spot. We both had the sea bass. The spinach and mango sauce were tasty but the nacadania crust was too thick and mushy and the Chilean Sea Bass was not characteristic of the variety. Either an imposter, a poor selection, or just not well prepared. I suspect the former.
Excellent restaurant. Great food, will go again.
fabulous food and drinks!! such a pretty view outside!
My family and I have dined there many times over the past 10 or so years. The front of the house has always been very unorganized, for some reason the host station is staffed with unfriendly young girls who don’t really have a clue. The maitre d usually has to straighten things out for them in his unfriendly aloof manner. Three of our party of five arrived 5 minutes early and were told we couldn’t be seated until everyone was there, apparently new policy. We weren’t told to have seat in the bar area or made to feel comfortable at all. After the rest of our party arrived we were told our table was not ready so we had to stand waiting further. This whole experience to begin with was highly aggravating. We were then sat at a table by the door to the outside tables. One of our party’s seat was too close to the service area and every time a waiter went by him, they were told to watch out hot coffee coming or be careful coming through. The staff bumped his seat over and over as they passed. We brought this to the waiters attention, who proceeded to tell the maitre d. who did a good job of not looking over at our table when he was told what had transpired, and an even better job of pretending he didn’t mean to bump into said guests chair when he was passing with another chair, which I am certain he did on purpose. This is indicative of the unprofessional, rude and petty behavior that is displayed by the front house at this restaurant. I look forward to a response.
A truly fantastic restaurant with a great view. Our waiter was the best. Excellent win selection. Will definitely come back.
Everything was really spot on. The ambience was cozy and beautiful along with the service being excellent. The only reason for my rating is that I got oysters on the half shell & unfortunately they did not have much taste and the toppings that go along with them did not have much taste either so I wasn’t real thrilled with that appetizer. Also the caramelized vidalia onion side was a disappointment, just sautéed onions not much to it.
Great food and service. We celebrated birthdays and it was well worth the money spent. It would be been wonderful to sit outside but the dining room was lovely too. I will definitely return.
We have not been to this location for over 20 years. I ran into the sommelier in public who informed me of the new management and new menu. My wife and I had a date night there on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. We arrived as strangers and felt a part of the family when we left. Service was excellent without being intrusive. The food was nicely presented and tasted as well as it looked. The portion size on the special of the evening (Panko crusted halibut) was quite large. The dessert (Carrot Cake) was large enough to share, but I didn't. We look forward to many more date nights at Grille 66 & Bar.
