The views are amazing. However the servers do not know anything really about what they are serving, especially the sake. There is a strict time frame and I was asked to leave 30 mins early. I was actually wanting to leave but this upset me and hence I stayed longer drinking water. Luckily they took off the VAT service charge. Definitely wish their were more food options. But wow, those views
A great place to visit for a special occasion. The views are stunning in the evening hours and definitely worthy of a few drinks with friends or a special someone! Wish it could have been more of a full-service bar as the food (not drinks) was underwhelming for the price point.
Slightly disappointing visit to Gong, I’d originally booked for Afternoon Tea, only to find on arrival it wasn’t on the system.
We decided to take a look at the menu, but eventually left when we were told we couldn’t have coffee unless we were having afternoon tea.
The venue itself was nice, but this experience would probably put me off going back.
Lovely place with spectacular views. Excellent staff, excellent drinks. Food menu is limited. Expensive but worth it for a little treat
You pay for the location and view. Service is okay and cocktails average with no real ‘wow factor’ as expected. I feel a bit let down by the whole experience and won’t be returning in a rush. Dan
I booked a table for my partners birthday as a surprise for him. The staff were very welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The views were amazing, cocktails were delicious and they even brought a special drink over to our table for my partners birthday!
Fantastic afternoon at The Shard “Gonk”.
The view is amazing, food, beverage, service, the all combination was Excellent. I will definitely be back.
unfortunately they didn't have more than half of the drinks
It is a fantastic bar and service excellent however the drinks are very ordinary in fact quite poor.
I had a daiquiri and it was plain, and my gin and tonic just came in a high tumbler there were no little extras such as a nice glass or dried orange segment.
The price and them being ordinary let you down
Thank you for the wonderful customer service, for giving us the table in the corner over Tower bridge, that was a stunning surprise for me and my partner! We really appreciate the tour in the pool area. Hope to be back soon!
Great experience, very nice atmosphere and amazing view!
I took my best mate here for her 40th birthday drinks, we orderred champagne and the service was just what I expected from this place. Magomed the Bar Supervisor was charming and made us feel very welcome.
Absolute rubbish apart from the view. Over crowded money making novelty. Full of idiots not interested in the view or the space but taking selfies with flash endlessly. Go once never return, should be wonderful but it isn’t.
Disappointing service despite a gorgeous setting. I attentive wait staff with strictly enforced time limits.
Booked in advance and we still unable to have a window seat. We were told the tables would be changed to ensure everyone has time at a window seat, while spending an hour there we still not to spend any time in a window seat. On arrival there was a couple and group of friends sat in window seats, they were not asked to swap within the time we spent there and the group of friends had already had a bottle of wine.
Beautiful setting for a date night, level of ambiance music was perfect, staff was very friendly
From Gong you get a fantastic view over London. But, considering the prices and the poor service, it´s not really worth it. We didn't get any water, or anything to eat our food with and the staff seamed to be more interesting in chatting with each other than to serve their guests.
Very poor service, even before we were welcomed the staff was warning us about the minimum spend policy despite this being already clearly mentioned on the reservation page. After an hour we were already presented with our bill without the possibility of reordering...
The service was surprisingly poor. The staff were either arrogant, unhelpful or not trained. Wont visit again. A great view but you want good service too! It's a shame that the staff let Gong down.
The view is wonderful by night, but the service is not very good et prices are not fair
Requested a drink that wasn’t on the menu, barman gave me an incorrect drink. It hadn’t been on my table more than 3mins when the manager came across to explain the mistake (unprompted), apologised, and offered me the replacement. Great service, and the incorrect drink tasted great so I got a bonus beverage from the mix up!
You get the view / you pay minimum £30 per cover. For that I'd have expected 'sensational' - The service was perfunctory and there are better Martinis to be had in London (but not with a fantastic panorama). If its cloudy or raining I would cancel, it doesn't get by on the product alone.
Mouldy olives and rude female staff on arrival who were looking down on us and were patronising. Our water however, his name began with an M i think! He was lovely and made the experience great.
Great views though.
Although the view was spectacular and the bar was lovely, the drinks were very very over-priced, which would put me off, there is no need to charge £70 for a bottle of wine.
Very noisy hen party was very rowdy and noisy, not what you want to be sat next to when you have paid £30 to get in and £70 for a drink!
Amazing views. But even with a reservation we were not seated at window in the beginning. Kind of like any walk in guest. This didn’t feel right for someone who had been made reservation since several weeks.
Excellent and worth every penny. Birthday treat for my wife and she can’t stop going on about it. We have already said it will be a part of all trips to London now!
I would recommend for the views but the music was too loud lights were too dim and the drinks overpriced
View is obviously good but this is the only plus here Service was very sub par and cocktails were too sweet and badly balanced, which at £30 a go is not what you’d expect. Won’t be rushing back
Went to Gong for drinks on bonfire night, unforgettable experience! Will return soon!
We had a lovely time at Gong on Tuesday evening. The waiter that served us was extremely friendly and helpful. He was also very polite.
The views are amazing. As it was bonfire night we did see a lot of fireworks which was lovely.
Drink prices are a little on the high side but we will definitely be back.
It was nice ambience, the drinks are quite dear if you're looking to get merry, it is the ultimately the view that makes this place.
Great vue and athmosphere but service a little bit disappointed. Waiter told us about items missing after a long time checking the list. The choice was almost done for us it would be better to know this in advance. No water glasses provided compares to a lot of bar of the same standing and a lot a noise around us due to a large table with drunk people.
Vue still amazing that’s why we will come back for sure but we know that we pay for the vue and not really for food or service.
Great Service But After 23.00 no Snack Service
Fantastic view - Drinks not to expensive
Noise at the Edge
Amazing views terrible service.
I booked GŎNG for my boyfriends birthday and was sadly disappointed. Service was great when we first arrived however no one came back to our table again. I managed to order a second drink about an hour after I’d finished my first. Approximately 25 minutes later what can only be described as the worst pina colada I’ve ever had arrived, shortly followed by last orders and the bill. At 12:40 the lights were turned up and we were told they were closing soon.
Very poor considering the £30 per person minimum charge and expensive price tags.
Wouldn’t rush back!
We only went for drinks at Gong but did get given some very nice nibbles to go wit our wine. The views at Gong are spectacular and we were lucky enough to go on 2nd November when there were loads of firework displays happening all over London which was great. The bar is lovely, really nice furnishings, good atmosphere and attentive service. We were sat on a table in the middle of the bar and then a waitress came up and said a window table was free and did we want it? The answer was a resounding yes! hey moved us, our drinks and snacks with minimum of fuss. Would definitely recommend as a treat - it's not cheap as you might imagine but worth it for the experience and we don't live in London so it's nice to do something special when we go.
Overall, staff were not attentive and our server changed throughout the evening. After two guests arrived (the surprise birthday guests), nobody came to offer them a drinks menu or take their order for over twenty minutes after I asked to please be seen.
Hostess downstairs in lobby didn't know of the duration of the booking and argued that my reservation was incorrect when challenged.
Agreed to give a signal or mention to waiting staff when we would like a surprise cake to be brought over. They then did this unexpectedly without any notice given - before the birthday person had even been able to order a drink so we could not cheers them either.

Special place. Incredible views. Cozy. Attentive staff
Great place and awesome service. The only thing I was a little miffed about is that settling the bill seemed a bit confusing for the lady. It took her 10 minutes to bring us back our change. Other than that, it was a lovely evening
Loved the atmosphere and vibe at Gong and the view over London is fabulous... However, the service was poor, I had to ask for our water and snacks three times and some of the staff seemed very disinterested... disappointing.
