Goldfinch Tavern at Four Seasons Seattle
Ethan Stowell and Four Seasons Hotel Seattle are thrilled to announce the name of their new restaurant collaboration: Goldfinch Tavern. Named for the state bird of Washington, the American goldfinch.
The upscale tavern pays homage to the city’s pioneer days, when taverns catered to lumberjacks and sailors alike, providing a place for travelers and locals to both socialize and conduct business, all while enjoying drinks and food.
Salmon was WAY overcooked, Halibut was overcooked, Pasta with clams was super bland.
Apps were very, very good, drinks were great.
We had a great meal and even better service at Goldfinch Tavern. We had the oysters, crab and beet salad, NY strip, lobster mashers, and donut holes. It was all delicious but my favorite was the lobster mashers. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed drinks and a light dinner before The Rolling Stones concert. The smoked salmon bruschetta was light and flavorful, and the crab and pickled beet salad was delicious. It had a generous portion of crab. We had drinks at HH prices, which was very reasonable. This is a lovely restaurant and you can count on the quality of the food being top notch.
Poor service for a Four Seasons and overpriced
Goldfinch is a lovely cafe with very good food, very good service, lovely ambience and quiet setting for lunch with friends. I never feel rushed and always feel appreciated. It is a regular "go to" cafe for friends looking for an excellent meal in beautiful setting.
Great food. Good pace, very accommodating staff. Wine recommendation, excellent?
The food was phenomenal. We chose the Chef’s surprise menu and loved every dish and wine pairing. The service was terrific; prompt and helpful with selections.
One of my favorite restaurants for my 9 year old daughter and her 9 year old friend. They have a great kids menu and activities. Food is always delish and it’s four seasons service- enough said!
I ordered the roasted chicken and it was soo over cooked that it had that powdery texture. It was a real disappointment as I was taking a big client there for dinner. The clients dinner was good but when I did share a little the client said I should say something but it would have changed the dynamic of the meeting.
We initially were offered a table that accommodated 8 but had a reservation for 6. As a result the choice was to sit spread over a huge table and feel disconnected OR in an alternative table next to an open area where a huge LOUD group was celebrating and frankly were annoying/drunks. The lesser of the two evils- we elected to sit at an appropriate sized table and contend with the volume and inebriation..
Our server Joseph was stellar, the food was great as always just didn't fully enjoy the Goldfinch experience the way knew it could be enjoyed so in the end while we love the place and Joseph the night fell way short of our typical level of satisfaction.
We had a good time, food and service were okay.
Service is not as attentive as other four seasons. Hotel is pretty small. The retaurant is nice though. We had a good table with a view on the pier.
Great valet parking.
The service was great! We had asked for a waterfront view and wasn’t able to get one at first which we were ok with since it was a last minute reservation. Then the manager came over later after 5 minutes of being sat down who we hadn’t met. He asked us if we wanted to move to a window since they had a table open up. This was such a great service experience and our waiters were all so nice! Food was amazing too!
We were visiting from Philadelphia, PA.
We loved our meal and everything about The Goldfinch Tavern!
Jacob was our server and he couldn’t have been nicer! He was extremely professional, friendly without being overbearing.
Our evening at the Goldfinch Tavern was one of the highlights our trip!
Awesome food. Awesome service. Really enjoyed out dinner. "Trust the Chef" is definitely worth it.
Great service and food was superior. Lovely water view dining at the Four Seasons.
The ambiance and $49 buffet/bottomless mimosas are a good deal. Our service was subpar. We had to clarify what we wanted more times that what is necessary, and our server kept forgetting things we had asked for. The food was pretty good otherwise. I would give it another try.
The service was impeccable. Thank you Frankie. The value...wow! For $49. You get unlimited mimosas and they were not stingy with them. Great buffet, especially the crab appetizer plus one entree.
Outstanding service, outstanding food! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
I took my mother for a special dinner and the food and service was exceptional. All the food was flavoured and cooked perfectly. The service was attentive and never overbearing. We lingered for over 2 hours and never felt rushed. I highly recommend.
Was hosting friends from out of town.
They loved it!
Great location. Beautiful dining room with a kind of cool throwback decor. Nice background music (live guitar player). Excellent service, very attentive and willing to make great recommendations on menu items. Meal presentations were very pleasing and the meals were excellent.
Goldfinch Tavern is a great place for lunch. And I regularly take my older friends there since you can valet park at the front door with a short, flat walk to the dining room. The food is superb. On this last visit my friend and I split beet and crab salad. The crab was so fresh and delicious. When my older friend wanted a dish not on the new Sunday brunch menu, the kitchen was able to produce it for her. Our server is an incredible person named Millie (apologies if her name is not spelled correctly). She is one of the best servers I have encountered. She is kind to us and gives special attention to my older friend who uses a walker. Goldfinch Tavern should be on your list of wonderful restaurants in Seattle.
We went here for our 5th anniversary, and we had a terrific time. The food was amazing, and our server, Michelle, was fantastic. Not our first visit, and certainly not our last.
Good food, gracious wait staff, valet parking, table with a view, live entertainment (not too loud), what's not to like? Try the Wildflower cocktail - yummy. Even the least expensive wine went well with the meal.
All around wonderful! The very best service, lovely view, amazing food. Never disappoints
Excellent service and excellent food. Particularly enjoyed the steak.
The food was good, not outstanding, and the service from everyone but our waitress was good. She was often in the kitchen so we had to ask for multiple things from other servers. I expected better overall for the restaurant, considering the location, the price, and the Ethan Stowell brand.
One of our best meals and experiences ever.
Our reservation said it was our anniversary. The waiter mentioned this several times; a white chocolate "Happy Anniversary" tag was included in our dessert. The ambience was conducive to conversation. A guitarist played sentimental classic songs. I ordered halibut with couscous, just a few peas and pea puree, and pancetta; it was prepared and presented perfectly. My husband had filet mignon with mashed potatoes; he was pleased with the presentation and quality. Dessert was marionberry creme brulee, also delicious. The valet knew we had to leave at a certain time for the ballet; our car was waiting out front. This was the best dining experience we have had in years. Highly recommend.
In Seattle for a meeting and staying at the Four Seasons hotel. Goldfinch Tavern really is a great place. the good is excellent our server Michelle outstanding. wine list was excellent with a good selection. we had the Iconoclast cab from Napa. going back.
Always love this place! Super fresh, clean ingredients and our service was outstanding!
Our server was excellent and is what earned the five stars mostly ...but it was a beautiful setting and the food was good...maybe a little bland though :/ but probably more due to my menu choice.
Everyone was very polite and attentive. The buffet was adorable and had some great food items.
We had dinner for our anniversary and was thoroughly impressed by the food. The Trust the Chef option was amazing, delicious and inventive. The service was very good, attentive, and pleasant. We would definitely go back.
The food and the service were absolutely amazing! Our waitress was very friendly and checked in on us frequently. The food was outstanding and I can’t wait to go back.
For a food outlet at a Four Seasons this place ranks at the bottom. We had VIP guests visiting from out of town and wow, did this place disappoint. We were seated in the dining area, but right next to us was a group of men who were happily inebriated and loud. Normal conversation was out of the question. The menu left a good deal to be desired, and even though it's Copper River Salmon season in Seattle they didn't have it. Service was slow and inattentive, and our guests later commented that the glare from the windows made it impossible to see our faces. This place is off our list of places to eat.
Goldfinch is a beautiful restaurant with a nice view of the water. The food is great and the service is lovely.
Best brunch in Seattle
A fantastic experience overall. We recently went to celebrate my birthday and the ambiance, food/drinks, and service was spectacular. The only hiccup was that the bartender said he wanted to take care of my first drink as a little birthday treat and it was still on our bill at the end. We didn't say anything because it felt petty to do so - but would have been nice if he had followed through. Either way - honestly this was a fantastic experience and we would definitely visit again.
