Gianni's at the Former Versace Mansion
The ambiance is PERFECTO. 5+. Amazing. Wow. Just gorgeous. It’s a stunning location. Beautiful. The food was also 5 stars. Wow. Just delicious. I had zero complaints about the food, drinks and ambiance. The only complaint I have is the service is equal to about Applebee’s. No offense guys but when you have gold crusted desserts and mosaic pools (granted with T-shirt wearing parties seated on the edge WTH).... long story short, I should not see multiple tables being given the wrong food, I should not wait 16 minutes to order a drink, it shouldn’t take another 16 minutes to GET the drink, and I shouldn’t be charged for a dozen oysters when I get 6. I will say the restaurant corrected the error but — again — $400+ bill for 2 shouldn’t have these issues. If they could bring their subpar service from 2 to 5 stars to match the spectacular environment and the spectacular food it would be a much more pleasant experience. All in all however—don’t miss out on this experience. It was fantastic. I just hope they take note that their service is not equal plane with their food/environment.
Great dining experience. While it’s expensive, the ambience is worth it. Our waiter was excellent and the food was wonderful. There is no price for sitting in the courtyard next to the pool on a summer evening. Worth every penny.
Cibo ottimo, servizio veloce e preciso, consigliatissimo!
It’s a great experience. Our waiter was Robert G and did an excellent job serving and giving a brief history of the mansion. This guy needs to be a manager. Super nice night overall.
Food was a joke. I ordered the lamb entree at a medium temperature and it came out well done. Asked for them to recook and they still brought it out well done. When the manager came over he said that this is what medium is to them. While I never complain about meals I could not keep this one to myself as I am a chef and when I order lamb medium I expect to receive a warm red center not brown through the entire cut of meat. They didn’t even apologize were very pompous about the entire situation. It was as if that’s truly what they think medium lamb should have been. If there’s any advice I could give you is to research meat temperature because if that’s medium lamb I’m scared to know what it looks like when the chef sends out a steak. So I paid $250 for 2 entrees that were very over cooked. Very disappointed as the location sells itself with its history the food however was a joke. When you have a location that’s that beautiful and servers that offer great service and the food is that far off its very sad.
The server was amazing. The food was great. I wished the wine was a little cooler it was so warm we had a bottle of wine but was so warm .
Went for bday celebration. Ambiance was amazing!
A wonderful atmosphere. Excelent restaurant. I recommend!!
It was terrible food,we have never eat such a bad food.
Only desert was good,it was for us compliment ,because food was no good.
We recommend arrive for aperitive ,but not for eating....
A few days ago my husband and I had dinner at Gianni's, previously the home of the late Gianni Versace. We were pleasantly surprised. To start, we ordered the charcuterie appetizer to enjoy with our wine. I would not recommend this dish. We both agreed that the charcuterie board could have been much better. For our entrees, my husband ordered the Branzino and I ordered the Salmon. The Branzino was very good but the Salmon really was excellent! There could be a little more attention payed to the sides and presentation. Both entrees were served with sliced zucchini and it was quite underwhelming. Overall, I would give the food a 4/5. However, what set this meal and experience apart was the beautiful courtyard setting and the wonderful service we received from our waiter, Roberto G. The service was a solid 5/5!
Family vacation from San Francisco
I will say let's talk about the food: my salmon was a grill fish with no taste, and was half raw inside, the salad was simple..nothing special and the icecream taste like plain supermarket one, I have more than 500 reviews in Google, this restaurant is overpriced and the waiters and waitresses acted like they were better than anyone else.
The best service my husband and I have experienced. We ordered the date night lobster deal and I would highly recommend it.
Other then the gentleman standing at the front gate everything was wonderful . I work for my reservation about 10 minutes early apparently my attire was inappropriate which was understandable my jeans had ever been me. I did not see a dress code on the website but I still understood. I tried to make a joke with the gentleman, I told him I thought my tire was appropriate considering I was wearing Versace . His response was he’s been dead for 20 years and this place has nothing to do with Him. Considering most people die in there for the experience of it being the Versace mansion it was completely inappropriate and it really shut down my mode . On the corner there was a shop where I could purchase pants I did so and returned. My server and food Was perfect .
Everything was the amazing experience expected with a dinner reservation like this. I ordered the Bone in Ribeye, medium rare with a side of potato Purée. It took over an hour to receive the food (looked a little busy, understandable), got forgotten about a few times over getting bread or a picture taken (once again, mistakes happen, not too upset), then the food arrived.
Now I am so bad at the “benefit of the doubt” situations, I’m very understanding and I rarely complain or write a negative statement about a dinner. But this steak was by far the worst cooked meat I have ever eaten. Ever. This was for sure cooked with a broil technique, which even right now writing this, I cannot believe is really true. But you know how I know? Why I would even be writing this? The waiter... came to my table.... with a flashlight. He lit up my food for the whole restaurant to see, even after telling him that I’m just not sure the steak was cooked right, he wanted to “call my bluff” with a flashlight in the middle of this restaurant and show me the sear marks. For the record, there was none. It folded up, like a broil cook, it had no charred ends, marks, grill lines, nothing. But that doesn’t even matter. You should NEVER attempt to call out or even try and embarrass me at my dinner because you think I’m wrong for not accepting a 60 dollar steak that’s broiled. I hope someone shows my history of all the steakhouses I’ve been too, and see my order history. I am a HUGE steak fan, been raised on this my entire life. That was a poor example of doing that and even WORSE for a waiter to do that to me, wasn’t cool at all.
I even stayed and ordered something else from the menu, gave it another chance. I got ignored and bad looked by the staff to where I was ready to go, didn’t even look at the bill. Pretty upset to spend the most anticipated part of my trip like that, and I hope someone actually reads this and doesn’t let this happen to someone else.
Milka was amazing, she went above and beyond for us. The hotel and restaurant are great, must go if you are a Versace fan. I enjoyed the lamb chops, had it cooked medium, it was nice. The red dessert with the medusa was excellent along with the sorbet! Thank you Milka, when we are in town we will def come back again and only want service from YOU!
Our waiter was so friendly, even he take some pictures of us around the amazing pool. The food delicious
The food was good, but the service was awful. We had reservations and still waited 45 minutes to get our table. Our waitress was rude and unprofessional. She never brought out our bread and didn't bother on checking on us til the end. Worst server we have ever had.
Excellent place, i am a fashion designer so i appreciated a lot Versace the Mansion is wonderful, the atmosphere outside is magnificent, but inside the room to much light,The music is very short, perhaps it sounds a higher tone to be able to appreciate it well, but en general the food was nice and the a staff attention well.
Dinner was delicious. Our servers were very professional and answered our wine questions which was a surprise since they always refer you to the sommelier. Was as expected.
The food was fantastic but it was very hot there.
Great experience ! Perfect photo ops. You won’t be disappointed ! Food was okay. Not the best meal but really came for the view and the ambiance.
Extraordinaria cena, un lugar sorprendentemente agradable, ampliamente recomendable, si se viene a Miami es un espacio que no se debe perder
Girls lunch !
We had a lovely meal and a wonderful bottle of
I was assured that coming at the end of the lunch period would be ok ( as I too work in service).
We did feel a bit rushed toward the end of our meal which was disappointing.
That aside I would certainly dine here again. The spinach ravioli was amazing!
Great food, very nice decorations, it is pricey, however, the lunch time 12 to 4p for $29 is awesome!!.
Amazing place to have brunch/lunch!! The 3 course lunch menu is superb and good value!
It was my wife’s birthday she really enjoyed it
Took my wife for her birthday! Food and ambiance were excellent! Besides the millennials (yuk), would definitely go again.
Lunch is definitely worth going to - affordable if dinner is too expensive and you want to see inside.
I got the spinach ravioli which was fantastic and the portion was a perfect size
Overall the atmosphere was great! Loved seeing the mansion decor and setup however don’t expect the food to be great because I personally can make better tasting food so don’t get your hopes up! The prices are decent but not for the quality of food and make sure you sign your receipts because if you don’t they will charge your card extra for no reason!
It was absolutely beautiful! The service was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back!
Comida de familia
The mansion itself is fantastic, being the former home of Gianni Versace, it still contains most of the original design and decor.
However, the dining experience in the main restaurant is far from fantastic and quite frankly dull.
The servers do try, however are inadequately trained in fine dining.
The manager seems over orientated on filling the restaurant up and overbooking seemed to be a problem.
Very over priced for the quality received.
But worth a visit if your interested in Versace.
Very disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. We were expecting real Versace quality but instead we got attitude from the rude hostess and even after making reservations for over two weeks, we had to wait 35 minutes to sit in the main area. She tried to push us to sit on the crappy entrance side of the dining area saying they had no seating; we had to get the manager involved who finally sat us on the main area, which by the way had plenty of available seating. The food was not a representation of true Italian cuisine. My sea bass was super salty and potatoes undercooked and hard. The tomatoes in the appetizer were not fresh/looked old. Everything was super overpriced specially the drinks, I guess you are paying for the Versace name, but it’s truly not impressive and not worth it. We will NOT be back.
So peaceful and beautiful. I’m a huge Versace fan so it was bittersweet and sad with how such a legend left this earth, but he was brilliant and the house is kept very well and the company preserved how everything was left. Excellent service from the moment of walking in to me leaving. The food was impeccable as well the drinks. I came two days in a row and I left so happy.
