We was offered water at the beginning that was very well customer service however was not told that water would be £5 added on . Then I was told I would have been paying more as we was nearly charged service charge
Gaucho provided amazing service for my birthday. One to remember!
Fantastic as usual. Service is allways great. Food was excellent
Absolutely brilliant.....my compliments to the Chef and to Antonio the senior waiter....incredible service.....oh yes the bottle of Syrah.....sublime
Service moyen ce soir
I been going to GS for many years, but on this occasion food was big let down, super cold steak and definitely not worth the value
It was special occasion for my mrs birthday so I didn’t want to make a fuss about it on the night, but definitely they need to improve
DONT GO HERE FOR ANY CELEBRATIONS!
I booked an open table offer for 3 courses and wine, and we ended up purchasing a couple of red wines for the table. The review I assume must be read with that context as I’m sure if you are spending more than £100 per head, they treat you better especially for special occasions. We had booked a table of 6 for my birthday. My 2 friends also had got engaged a few days before. When I booked on open table I told them about my birthday. On the day I emailed them to mention about my birthday and also my friends engagement and specifically mentioned it would be great if they could do something to celebrate both occasions. The restaurant rang up a few hours before to confirm reservation and I again reminded them about the 2 occasions we were celebrating.
I’ve eaten in some great restaurants in central London and every time since I was 21 for my birthday, restaurants have bought out some celebration or given something a gesture eg small cake at the end. Here we got nothing, despite the 3 reminders before. I saw someone got a candled cake at some point in the night at another table. Even if they didn’t want to acknowledge via a small dessert, they could have at least said, happy birthday and congratulations to my friends. It really did ruin the night. They need to hire more staff as clearly they were rushed off their feet. The food and ambience was nice. I would not come back here though.
I’m not interested in hearing from the general manager who tends to post comments following a review. There is nothing the restaurant can do to make it right as I don’t want to go back to the restaurant and my birthday and friends engagement celebration have passed. I rarely write reviews but felt this needed to be shared so people who had celebrations don’t book here or the restaurant changes it’s approach.
Excellent pre theatre menu. Great value
RESTARAUNT MANAGER WAS SO RELAXED...she even had spare time to be at the kitchen with chefs , wearing outfit she meets people from the street! She was showing pictures on her mobile having fun))) when got busted , argued that she was just checking her Italian boys. Absolute nightmare! Even not during corona virus outbrake... absolutely mindless manager with arrogant attitude! Close the place down! BE AWARE!
Ps ...despite this anti health and safety problem restaurant was happy to bring us the bill with service charge. Fantastic!
Arrived on time, first set of drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and first place of food 30 minutes. Have been to the Gaucho Piccadilly and everything there was seamless in comparison. Here I dont know if the guy was new, he did try hard but wanted a bit of personality when I was trying to make a light hearted joke about how hungry we were and want to order my next two dishes and drinks in advance to speed everything up. To be fair, he did accommodate this but still, I felt I spent more time trying to get the waiters attention to order food and drinks, than focus on the conversation at my table. Could be better, would go back to Piccadilly next time
Nice place, good food
Always a good place to visit. Delicious steak. Pricey though
Allways great steak and great service. Never a bad experience
Nice meat (not unforgettable though), but the presentation was a bit poor. Quiet ambience but, to my taste, a little too dark. The staff is very professional and careful.
This is the best place in town for steak and empanadas. I have been regularly going for over twenty years and it never disappoints.
Waiter did not give best service. He wasn’t listening to my requests. It was quite tight in the restaurant.
Wasn't great. Waited 40 mins for 2 cocktails after dinner and no apology, just a shrug of shoulders.
I’ve never had more incredible steak in my life. It was expensive but worth every penny.
The services and food was good . The price was normal.
Very good!! Nice place, beatiful people! I will come back
Great staff made us feel welcome from the minute we stepped in the door! Well educated staff they know the know the menus and restaurant heritage like it’s there own. Great ambiance, food was Devine. Overall great experience and must try!
Poor service, waiters in the dining room were usually absent, we struggled to make orders.
Our fillets braise was wrong, I asked for a medium rare and it was almost well done. Overall it’s a nice place to spend the evening. The desserts were exquisites.
Absolutely great meal and staff were very friendly and helpful. Went for my boys birthday and he throughly enjoyed his steak cooked to perfection.
Waiter kept trying to up sell which becomes tedious. Steak requested medium rare, came rare/blue. Finished on a single malt; started to drink and waiter started cleaning table next to us with strong smelling cleaning product. Not impressed compared to the likes of Hawksmoor, Goodmans or Cut.
Another great visit to Sloane Avenue, Service is great, food is amazing. Will be back again soon.
Fillet Steaks Perfect!
Unexpected Birthday treat appreciated !
Gorgeous food, lovely service and really attentive. We were later dining as were going out afterwards but was a wonderful meal, not too much portion sizes well done. Stunning cocktails as well - definitely worth a try.
Disaster of an evening, rude staff, food overcooked, no attention to detail, under staffed. Literally 50% of food left on plates. £113 which supposedly was a 50% discount for 3 mains, no starters. Absolute disgrace and embarrassing for my guests, open table recommendations will never be considered again.
Steaks are good however very pricey. Great ambiance and great customer service staff know the menu well.
We had a great neal but you have to question the £3 or£5 charge for a very small steak sauce. There was probably 2 large spoons of sauce and to charge £3 x4 £12 for a sauce that clearly cant cost more than 30 pence we felt robbed . The overall bill for 4 came in at £280 but £12 for the sauces ruined the experience. Is it necessary Gaucho??
Food was very good.
Mistake with starters was rectified promptly. Criticism - Ordered bottle of house white, when I saw it was Chardonnay and before it was opened I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc (my husband doesn’t like Chardonnay). Unfortunately I didn’t check the bill closely enough until the next morning and saw we were charged for the Chardonnay that we didn’t drink.
Excellent lunch, fantastic waiter and service at the table, bar staff appeared a little less ‘happy’
Truly excellent RibEye- cooked to perfection and so delicious! Attentive service by Eduardo and smiles all round from every member of staff. A wonderful ambience. Will go back again!
I eat regularly at Gaucho restaurants and this was not the best experience I have ever had, the French fries were burnt, the service was slow which was bizarre as the restaurant was relatively empty. Would not go back to this branch of Gaucho's.
A second visit within one week. Still enjoyed the occasion. Excellent quality of the meat served. I tried Lamb cutlets this time. Still good wines, but a little expensive at certain points when Argentine wines are still more obscure. Enjoyed the white Malbec very much.
Was a lovely night but the server was pretty stressed and initially service was slow. It was ok overall but a lot of money for just ok.
Very good service
Some really rather good steak in quite a 'cool' restaurant. Waitress was very friendly and nice but service was a bit scattergun. Took ages to get drinks and they came one by one. Quite expensive for lunch and we were sat right by the food counter, but nice nevertheless.
Wonderful time as always, took two colleagues out to celebrate a achievement and we had a wonderful evening.
