Unfortunately this did not live up to my expectations. I’ve visited gaucho in Birmingham and the experience was so much better. My steak was not cooked correctly, which is shocking really considering that it’s a steak restaurant.
I did send it back and 5-9 minutes later I had a half a steak back. Shame that by this time my partner had finished. The manager was sympathetic to the situation and removed my steak from the bill. I did appreciate this, however it slightly spoilt what I was hoping was going to be an unforgettable evening.
For valentines it was a romantic dinner in a great atmosphere, the food was delicious and the service was relaxed as they didn’t rush you......superb!
Lovely food if advise to get the long steak can't remember wat it's called but its been marinated in garlic and it was amazing well worth the 50 pound
Excellent Lomo steak and the side dishes of mushromms and spinach were very good.
Service a little slow
Restaurant was lovely for our Valentine’s Day date. The food was all delicious. Accommodated my note for the special occasion. Waiter was excellent. General staff could be friendlier.
Everything was great, the food was delicious and our waitress Marta was fantastic, great recommendations for food, wine and dessert. Had a lovely time!
Really good, enjoyed the food and had a wonderful time will defo be coming back soon
Great food, lovely service and beautiful ambience. The music was a little loud, but a part from that, top notch place for a special occasion.
Was really excited to go to gaucho as a treat on Valentine’s Day. On arriving there was a wait at reception for the cloak room and we were soon told that the table we reserved was prebooked and we needed to be out by a certain time. I can’t speak for all of the dining rooms as some looked significantly nicer than others but certainly the one we were in on the second floor was sub standard for a place such as gaucho. The carpet was dirty and chairs were worn and uncomfortable. The service was also disappointing as there seemed to be confusion as to who in fact was our waiter/waitress meaning we went through the whole ordering process twice. The service was not rude or hostile but I would have expected it to be smoother and for there to be a more welcoming atmosphere. Having ordered our steaks came. One steak was orders medium well and came out even more bloody than the other ordered medium rare. This was an inconvenience as it meant that my partner and I ended up not eating together as one of the steaks was sent back and took 10 minutes to return. Again something I would not expect from such an establishment. To further this both men’s bathrooms I went in were dirty with wet floors and grubby sinks and one of the women’s washrooms has lipstick marks all over the walls. Overall we found gaucho extremely disappointing as an experience and the £50 pound steaks To be mediocre at best. Will not be returning.
We had an enjoyable night. With it been Valentine's night itvwss particularly busy. 2 out of the three meals were very nice.
Absolutely amazing food, amazing vibe & amazing service. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!
Perfect evening with great service. Would defo recommend
As usual with Gaucho, the food was impeccable and so was the service. Did feel a bit cramped but still loved the evening
Lovely restaurant to spend on valentines, free sparking rosé on arrival was a nice touch! The fillet steak was incredible.
Good service food wasn’t as flavoursome
Lunch deal good value but water and sides expensive on top. Wine was nice for a £35 bottle
Overall good service
The food came quickly, was hot and the noise level was low enough, so I could hear myself speak with my client
I should visit again soon...even though it is not cheap
Not worth the money. Medium quality of the food but cost was high.
excellent food & service the indoor decor was really nice and dark everyone was dressed casual and few people in suits and elegant dresses
The food was outstanding but I was disappointed that my request on my initial booking was not met.
The food was ok. The waitress was very moody and tried to run up are bill three separate times, ie trying to get us to order the larger steak and not being happy when we asked for the smaller one
Best stake I ever had in my life, my wife and I made this restaurant as our number 1 and definitely will be coming back more than once. Service great, atmosphere brilliant so I can't give less then 5 stars!!!
Excellent experience, it was my boyfriend’s birthday they organized a lovely surprise with chocolate truffle and candle. Overall all the members of the staff have been so kind and professional. Will recommend it for sure!
Food is always excellent. Staff very pleasant and service was good
Wine is a bit on the expensive side
Beautiful meal. Only gripe I have was that where I was seated was very dark and I had to use the torch on my phone to see the menu .
Used to be my favourite place for steak but was left a bit disappointed. Perfectly fine but not wowed.
We have waited 45 minutes for a child burger and more than that for our food. When the food arrived the meat was cold, the pasta tasted like cream only, was not able to taste the truffle.
Service very good, giving advice on wine and steaks. The steaks were fabulous! We’d booked for a birthday and 2 cocktails with truffles arrived with the bill. Lovely meal, second Gaucho restaurant we’ve visited and will definitely be going again.
Very stylish, excellent service, best steaks.
Have to order sides as extra, so at £5 each makes it very expensive.
The chef of the kitchen is definitely very bad because the way of preparation and taste of food is beyond my expectations and the way they are representing themselves, the taste of food is not good at all, I could prepare the same type of meat better at my home.
We had the limited choice lunch menu plus champagne and were delighted by the quality, portion size and value it represented. As two were no meat eaters it was good to see they were well provided for too. Service was attentive and professional but friendly.
Food was amazing and service was great, they even brought out a little birthday desert for my mum which was a lovely touch!
The steak was of very fine quality and perfectly done. The only issue was that it was a bit too salty.
The service, by Alexia, was excellent.
Nice spot, the arrival process is a bit to systematic (nice lady got into a strop when I didn’t want to go to the bar) but the serving staff were lovely, food was great.
I do wonder why I have to give up the table after 1.5 hours when the place is half empty (more process I guess)
Really great :) we had been before, this time requested a quieter table which we received. Our server Alex was brilliant in recommending the way each steak should be cooked, especially for the sharing platter we got. Each steak was fantastic!
Will be going back :)
We had a lovely meal, the steak was superb, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is cosy and special. The drinks were very good and they have some interesting non alcoholic drinks which was a bonus for us and complemented the meal.
We were seated in a nice booth but it was downstairs and it feels more like a bistro and less like a restaurant !
I’d ask to sit upstairs going forward.
The food was ok but the sides were tiny especially the carrots and broccoli .
Everyone’s steak was good .
I was in Gaucho in Manchester several years ago and have to admit it changed to the worse.
