This is the first time we had been to Gaucho Charlotte Street since its re-design and we were really impressed. The restaurant looks great and the food and service were fabulous. Due to the Coronavirus scare there were not many people eating at the restaurant which is a real shame. We hope to go back very soon.
I took my grand daughter to Gaucho before going to the theatre.
Gaucho's was her choice as she it was 'the place to go' and she was right.
The decor, atmosphere, service and food was amazing. We even received a complimentary glass of Presesco each as it was her 18th Birthday and a candle on her desert plate. A lovely touch!
Recommend Gaucho in Charlotte St highly.
Great service. Lovely food. Nice venue.
Great service, amazing food. But we had a very loud group next to us with alot of swearing
The food was good as always at any Goucho, however the service when we arrived was poor. We were ten minutes late for our table and the waitress said it might not be ready and we could wait at the bar. I went to check and it was ready, in fact most of the restaurant was empty! We were sat in the corner and then another three couples were bought in and sat next to us, right next to us! Tables are far too close together and considering the restaurant was pretty empty, somewhat strange? Atmosphere was flat and not as attentive as other Goucho’S we have visited. Food was good but doubt would return due to service and tables too close together giving no privacy.
We came for a celebratory post wedding lunch with my son and daughter in law and were very disappointed
Food was ok but for what we paid the service was appalling
We waited 20 minutes at the bar for a drink on arrival with some ridiculous explanation that they like guests who want a drink to drink upstairs so the place looks busy from the outside
Table service non existent and the manager seemed to lack knowledge of good customer service and service with a smile
Won’t go back to this branch - Regent Street branch is much better
We asked to switch the sourdough for two more of the cheese bread balls and were told it was Gaucho’s policy to charge for this tho we have not encountered this in other Gauchos. The burger meat was excessively salty on one side. It wasn’t initially noticable which is why I didn’t complain. The carrots were a paltry size.
The maitre d tried to ensure we were happy and brought us complementary buns but overall our experience was not as positive as it has been in other Gauchos
Great restaurant - sophisticated but relaxed. Food was excellent - and one of the best fillet steaks ever! Very efficient and friendly service, knowledgeable and helpful sommelier. Only issue was 30 minute wait for a table which we'd booked and arrived on time for. But they were generous in compensating for this. Highly recommend.
Had a very nice business lunch recently. Chose the fixed 2 course menu and selected artichoke and mushroom to start followed by a medium rare sirloin/French fries which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient - just right!
Absolutely terrible front-of-house service!! Do not go unless you would like to wait for an hour for a table you and your partner had already reserved (as part of the TimeOut vouchers purchased) with zero apology or acknowledgement from the greeter. Worse still, the fact that I had to ask her again on the status of our table, which was met with complete indifference and annoyance, led to a very frosty reception from her colleague downstairs who failed to ask if we'd like our coats put away when she took us to our table. Not a slight oversight given that there were no coats lying around in the dining room, including a couple who were sat minutes just after us and had theirs already taken care of.
Terrible attitude thinking they can make you wait because you had already 'prepaid' for the meal, which came up to £40pp (incl service) so not exactly cheap. A real shame as the food was excellent. Will not be going back to this place and would highly suggest not going for any set meal or voucher they advertise if you want to avoid complacent and apathetic service .
Absolutely loved our meal at Gaucho. The food was perfect and the drinks were also spot on. The ambience was nice and chilled but still felt luxurious. It is on the pricier side but well worth it.
Food was amazing and service was second to none.
We where attending a show close by and they made sure that we were out in plenty of time to get to the theatre on time.
Would highly recommend.
Little bit of a mix up with the booking but customer service at its best sorted that hiccup ! Amazing food and cocktails
Good steakhouse. Quality side orders and nice presentation of the meat, which never requires a steak-knife as it's always cooked so well. Table setups aren't ideal for the most private of evenings though.
Really nice place, very good food, lovely experience.
The food, drinks and service were all great. The only disappointment was that we were put into a corner by the kitchen when the main restaurant area was not busy, it was a shame to have a view of a wall and the noise of the kitchen when there was a nicer ambience on the main floor.
Its a really nice bonus to be able to BYO wine on a Monday night.
Everything was wonderful, the setting the service, the drinks, the welcome, the menu choices. My starter and pudding were delicious, my main was also delicious but the steak (sirlion) was very chewy, to the point that I gave up eating it. Disappointing given that this is an Argentinian restaurant but perhaps I was just unlucky. It would not prevent me from returning or recommending as overall our dinner was excellent.
A lovely buzzy place and as always super service and good food. Its only downside is its so expensive and poor value for the a la carte menu. Still water is over £6 a bottle with their standard 12.5% service charge.
Go for the meal deals.
Service was amazing and food was delicious as always!
Love the new the new decor , great downstairs area. Will return soon
Had a great lunch with some business partners, the ambiance was very nice and just what we were looking for - quiet but with some life. The space was very open but nicely segregated to create a feel of close comfort.
The servers and staff were very friendly and happy to guide us through whatever questions we may have had!
Food was delightful as usual
Beautiful setting, but although the restaurant was quite quiet when we were dining, we were sat very close to another table!
Both mine & my wife’s filet steak were cooked perfectly, but unfortunately mine had a medium sized grizzly/fatty part which I couldn’t eat. Also the sticky toffee dessert was dry. Apart from that, the service was good & the rest of the food was delicious!
Love the newly refurbished Charlotte Street Gaucho and the addition of the two cocktail bars makes it a great place to have pre dinner drinks
The food was outstanding and the service was very friendly.
There was an inauspicious start to this experience, as the restaurant cancelled my reservation with two hours to go, after I'd already confirmed it the previous day. Calling in to get it uncancelled wasn't a problem, although we did have to ask to see the OpenTable set menu option after we arrived. Apart from this, service was top notch - attentive and not intrusive. The food was excellent as well. The wines on tap are a drop in the bucket of Gaucho's excellent list of Argentinean offerings. The on-tap Malbec is quite nice, with a bit more linearity than most widely available Malbecs, while the on-tap Cabernet Sauvignon, which we had this time, is a bit fruit-forward and simple. Both go nicely with the food on offer though.
They are having a few teething problems, wine fridge broken, on tap beer not working, but the waiter tried very hard to make up for it
The staff were very friendly especially the restaurant manager who was excellent.
We dined on a Time Out voucher deal but where never made to feel cheap
Food was excellent and so was the service. Couldn’t fault our dining experience and will definitely return
Daniel was our waiter who was excellent !
Nicely refurbished, the steaks really enjoyable, we had a great meal, and the service attentive without being intrusive - we'll be back soon.
This is a lovely place for some quality steak. It surpassed my expectations and was very quiet for me any my wife for a lunch on our visit to London. Recommended
Lovely family dinner at an old favorite which has had a wonderful makeover. Love the new decor with plush banquette seating. The steak was excellent and staff most welcoming and helpful. We will continue to come back to Gaucho Charlotte Street when we’re in town.
We were there at 31 of December at night and it was a perfect night!Very good service, very good food,a very beautiful place and nice cocktails!I had a great time!
We had booked a 3 course deal but upon arrival we wasn’t offered this. The service was very slow and we were charged for food that never arrived to the table, they did take it off our bill but overall I prefer the Piccadilly branch which I will stick to.
The meal was exemplary, and the Argentinian Malbec was spectacular. The real highlight was our service ambassador (I don’t like the term waiter) Mikolaj. Having only been on the job for two weeks, he is a brilliant professional, knowledgeable and friendly; really made us feel comfortable and well attended to.
Will definitely be back!
We were both a little sick afterwards - the rib eye and fillet we had were a bit red inside which normally isn’t a problem but they were cold on the interior. Which normally happens if meat has not been defrosted properly. I obviously can’t say how Gaucho handles their meats but the quality is not what it used to be!
Great decor at Gaucho's Charlotte street. Our waiter was delightful.
The scallop ceviche with wafer thin slithers of apple was amazing.
The T-bone steak was up to the exquisite standard expected from a Gaucho, tender, tasty and perfectly rare.
Place had a great atmosphere, Staff were so so friendly they couldn’t do anymore to help, food was so so good and recommendations on the wine and the desserts were spot on.
From the first step into the restaurant everyone is super attentive and eager to provide best experience possible.
Food was good, atmosphere great and staff exceptional.
The quality of the food and standard of service is second to none - We highly recommend Gaucho Charlotte Street
