GATO is owned by Bobby Flay and Laurence Kretchmer who previously owned the Spanish restaurant, BOLO, together for 15 years. BOLO met an unfortunate demise when its building was torn down to make way for a new development. The partners vowed to revive the spirit of BOLO. They are thrilled to launch GATO as its next renewal.

Lifelong Bobby Flay fan. My meat was inedible. So tough and chewy. Overall very very average. So disappointed as it’s quite expensive.
Great nice atmosphere. Server was a real pro. Very attentive put not overwhelming. Everybody seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Nice for families and couples alike. Enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, burata salad, the Orrichetti entree and a side of roasted cauliflower.

I did not like Pizza with Asparagus that was extremely salty. Quite a disappointment! The Gato salad, a grilled octopus were decent as well as wine and a Jimmy cocktail. Unfortunately, overload of salt on pizza ruined the mood!
Having a dinner date at Gato never disappoints ...the service is superb and the menu so interesting. Everything is so well prepared and so very tasty! The Gato salad is so delicious along with the small plate appetizers. Seared scallop that just melts in your mouth , lamb tenderloin so tender..delectable! The steamed halibut was a great choice as well...every thing is so perfectly prepared. Such a wonderful treat!
To top it off the server brought us each a glass of sherry and some biscotti because we were celebrating our anniversary. Bobby Flay certainly runs a classy restaurant. Always such a pleasure to go to Gato!

Food is always amazing and so flavorful.
The food was amazing. We have tried a few of Bobby Flay’s restaurants and the food never disappoints. We flew in NYC from LA. I was so excited to have the opportunity to dine at GatoI. I was bummed to have an inattentive server who was borderline rude. We asked the server for recommendations and he said I don’t know what you like. When we put together our order we asked if he thought it was a good amount or if we should add another dish he replied I don’t know how hungry you are. Ok, fair. But I have had waiters give recommendations as well as feedback on portion size and order of how the food comes out. They know the food and restaurant more than I do. As for wait time, it took awhile to hAve him swing by our table to take our order. I never got. Refill on my water or ice tea. Overall bad service and very different from the service we received at Mesa Grill and Shark. Also, it took awhile for someone at the restaurant to tell a table of four very drunk guys to get it together. By drunk I mean very loud, putting feet up on other chairs, sitting on the table top, etc.
The food- amazing. Best chicken dish I’ve eaten in my life. The other dishes were wonderful too.

Good flavors as you would expect
Fans of Bobby Flay will not be disappointed if they make the trip to visit this restaurant! We had the Burrata for apps, steak for my husband and paella for me with a side of corn for entrees, and cheesecake for dessert. All was amazing - order the corn, it is soooooooooooooo good. The manager was phenomenal - talked to us like we were family as we were on our way out of the dining room. Will definitely return if given the opportunity!
Wait staff was extremely attentive, food met expectations.
The food was delicious but the portions are too small for the price. My drink was delicious. I think they should bill this place as a Bar or gastropub.

The food and service at GATO were amazing. We eat out at a lot of fine dining restaurants across the country and Bobby Flay did not disappoint. The food had so many levels of flavor. We were all in food heaven with the shrimp diavolo, charred beef, orecchiette, and fried chicken. The desserts were delicious as well and expertly prepared. Service was exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
The food was great but bathroom needs more light; extremely dark. Also bathroom faucet is too close to the bowl, not enough clearance to wash your hands. Please install a faucet with a higher Spicket.
Bus boys were constantly trying to clear our plates before we finished each course. It was really annoying. The food though was very good and our waiter was adorable. Very friendly and helpful.
I’ve been to Gato five times previously, nut three of our friends had never been. They loved it and chastised me for not suggesting Gato sooner. We all love sharing.
Great meal. octopus and corn were amazing. I had the chops and my wife the bass. Both great but not amazing.

Lots of great options on the menu from small plates to entrees, everything delicious. Standouts were the eleven layered potatoes, charred octopus and braised rabbit. Save room for dessert because the olive oil cake is worth the calories. Casual dress and atmosphere. Maybe you’ ll Spot Bobby.
Pretty disappointing. I was so excited to eat Bobby Flay recipes, but I would not go back even if I lived close enough to do so. My pork chop had more fat than edible meat.🙁🙁

Came for a birthday dinner, excellent food with casual downtown vibe.
Service from waitress was unremarkable! Felt like I was sitting at the counter in a diner. Those who bused the table were more engaging. Service matters. They missed that element.
The “fried chicken” was expensive for a simple chicken breast.

I made reservations for brunch at 1:00 pm on a Saturday but basically it was empty and didn't seem necessary. Small brunch menu. I had the pizza with a fried egg on it, it was delicious. We also ordered a few of the small bites which were tasty. My son had beef and has browns, he said it was good. Really cute decor and the service was great. Not sure why it was so empty?
We had friends visiting from out of town. They loved it. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the ambience, and cool vibe.

From the mouth watering photos on Instagram to the how can I try everything but only two of us dining menu, looooved Gato! There was not one thing on the menu that didn’t sound absolutely delish. So it was so much fun to imagine all the possible tastes but took a bit to try and decide!
The tone was set by the hostesses upon arrival and the server. It was all about genuine hospitality / making you feel welcome. So all to say yeah big fan. Helped too that you could hear yourself have a conversation!
So I’m just left asking two questions: what took me so long to try Gato out - and - how soon can I get back!

Food was great.. Each dish had a purpose and distinctly wonderful flavor. But the food was oily and heavier than I would've liked. I would live to come again though, just may be once a year.. Lol..
Really enjoyed this year and last year’s visit to Gato.
Only disappointment with either visit was that we did not get to meet Chef Flay.
Maybe next year!
This was the best meal that I have ever had. The service was great and the food was world class.
