We have a huge dining area, perfect for enjoying a lunch with coworkers or a romantic dinner for two. In addition to lunch and dinner, we also offer private dining rooms that can host anywhere from 20 to 400 people. We also provide catering, so your next corporate meeting, party, wedding reception or event just got a lot tastier!
Service was very good.
Food: Appetizers excellent. Entrees mediocre
Great service! Good food. We were seated immediately. There to celebrate our anniversary. We won the game they play were you pick a number between 1-9 & if they pull your number, the meal is free (minus tax & gratuity). Great overall experience!
We love this restaurant as it seems such a well hidden gem to us as visitors from the UK. The food and service are impeccable and the ambience unique.
Always great! It was my first time dining in the courtyard, and it didn't disappoint. The outdoor brick oven makes a delicious pizza, drinks are not watered down, staff is friendly and Lou watches over everything with humor and charm. The courtyard menu is smaller, with some of the main menu staples, and on weekends in the summer months, the place gets packed. Make reservations.
The good ; Great atmosphere - very good wait staff - really good appetizers
The not so good - Main courses bland - tough chicken - over cooked veal - we had
5 different mains and all were disappointing - Tired recipes
Great place for a romantic dinner or large party. The food is always delicious and plentiful. The staff bends over backwards to make sure that you have a positive experience. A true Brooklyn gem!!!
Very good service and great food. Would highly recommend
Really lovely old school restaurant with great service and terrific homemade Italian fare. Bright and airy large space was relaxed and yet still high quality feel for any special occasion. Wait staff was highly professional, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Located a short walk from the Coney Island Boardwalk if you are up for after dinner fun and on Fridays in August, free fireworks!
Great food and service, everything is cooked fresh
My wife and I spent a wonderful evening at the Gargiulo restaurant. Beautiful and calm atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food attract you to visit this tranquil island over and over again a stone's throw from crowded Coney Island with its hot dog lovers and turn stomach rides.
Was a wonderful dinner. Food was delicious and service was wonderful.
Excellent Italian cuisine in an elegant setting. The menu has enough to satisfy most patrons - from pasta to seafood to pork, chicken, and veal. Overall, it was a great value. And the free valet parking was a nice added feature.
Close to Ford Amphitheater, but worth driving out of the strip for a meal. Dated atmosphere and 3 pasta dishes were mediocre.
This review is for the pizza garden on Friday night's during the summer. The food, as usual, was exceptional. The pizza garden setting is lovely, you feel like you are on a mini-vacation. Our only issue was the service. They need to hire more servers for the garden. When we received our appetizers, one of the people in my party asked for the wine list, she was brought the list, but no one came by to take her order. Our bus boy dropped some food on the floor in between two of my friend's chairs and we had to ask 3 times to have someone and clean it up. Other tables had bread, we never got ours and had to ask for it. The bus boy never came by to refill our water glasses. When we received our dessert, most of it was spumoni or tortoni, and we didn't receive utensils, by the time we got the utensils, most of the dessert had started to melt. Unfortunately, these little things put a damper on what otherwise was a wonderful night. I love Gargiulo's and I don't blame the servers who were clearly overworked, the owners need to hire more people for the summer!!
Everything was good. Love the chicken Scarpariello. Italian cheesecake excellent.
Old school! Love the feel of the place. Brings back good memories of the way Italian restaurants used to be.
Fatmir is the best waiter in Brooklyn hands down!
The real deal in Coney Island. A legend that lives on. So glad it is still there!
Delicious classic Southern Italian, warm staff, good atmosphere. Pasta pasqualina was delicious as was the ravioli!
Awesome place people are amazing the service was great highly recommended
Food is unbelievable pizza amazing , pizza night , fire works afterwards what else can you ask for
A repeat customer---always excellent service in a landmarked building.
The food was horrible
Was disappointed in quality of food. Enteees were pre-prepared and not even very hot. Felt rushed. The main goal of wait staff appeared to get us fed and out in less than an hour. Our waiter did not check on us after dropping off food until he brought back the bill. Not the experience we were expecting.
This restaurant needs to retire.
It was Father’s Day and I realize it was busy, but hardly saw the waiter! The time between Appetizers and main course was 40 min! Although food was delicious when it did come! Also on such a busy day they had one valet guy parking cars, not a smart move
We had a 8:30 reservation for 4. We were coming from Long Island so we Got there early to have a few drinks and relax. One of the owners said we can sit down right away but we we’re having a drink first. I thought that was very accommodating that we didn’t have to wait till 830. The service was very attentive. Appetizers and food were excellent. It’s deafly a nice night out.
The food is delicious and the staff outstanding!!
Best Italian restaurant in NYC. Great food, wonderful service. We’ll be back again soon!
My childhood started in Coney Island, and my family always went to Gargiulo's Restaurant. We loved it then and we still love it now. It's nice somethings never change.
Overall 5 stars. Definitely worth the trip for outstanding food in lovely setting.
The food was absolutely great. The waiter "Jerry" was so thoughtful and courteous. We spent over three hours having an afternoon luncheon for my uncle's 90th birthday. He remembered a cake in the dessert too. Overall, a wonderful experience. Can not wait to return.
The service was terrible. I mean horrible... no, really bad! It was Mother’s Day, so the menu was prefixed; we literally waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to be served. The food wasn’t even worth the wait, we waited all that time for a frozen dinner. I ordered the $95 surf and turf, and half of what was suppose to be a fillet mignon was fat “they probably assumed that I didn’t know the difference.” The deserts were frozen/prepacked, even the cappaacino, I ordered turned out to be a terrible cup of joe. $400 dolars later (for a party of 4 “2 adults and 2 children”, I found myself compelled to leave this review. Something that I have never done before.
Service was horrible. The waiter would mumble things, avoid our table, and forgot about us. The food took long and the manager was not sympathetic either. The food was mediocre especially for the price point. I was charged for a drink I never got. Will never go back.
This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Every Mother's Day is a guaranteed visits to Gargiulo's.
Gargiulo’s sets the standards for other restaurants. We’ve been customers for 40 years. This is a place for locals and tourists alike. While in Coney Island take in the beach, rides, boardwalk & Gargiulo’s.
One of the best restaurants in Brooklyn! The food was superb and the staff treats everyone like family. Love them!
For all the reputation, Gargiulo's has, in my opinion, gone downhill. Maybe it's the refurbishment and huge seating (they told us they were going to have 1,000 covers for Mother's Day alone) that makes the food less appealing, but that's the story. Hadn't been there in a long while, went back, and probably won't go back again. The staff, on the other hand, was fantastic. Everyone there is terrifically friendly -- too bad the food wasn't up to par.
Excellent old world Italian restaurant. Great food.
